BritPete replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The racing improved as riders got desperate for points, but is this track really good enough for a Gp? -

The odd good race yes, but the track is still crap. -

It's a typical Danish track, slick and complete crap. -
Wolverhampton V Swindon 10-8-15

I have no doubt that this will be a tough meeting.Don't forget that we were losing last time, but then the struggling Morris was injured, and r/r gave us a very strong finish, and that was that. -

I do not need a smart answer for Poole fans they would not understand it. I must go and have a rest now. -

Swindon have no chance of winning this meeting. -

A surprisingly easy win for BV. I wonder why it was so easy? -
Anyway, it's another massive four points for us.

Riders do improve on tracks they previously could not score on. Maybe it was the Darcy Ward effect, who knows, but he has never been that good at Lakeside before. However, there's a world of difference between saying that you thought that something was not "quite right" compared with accusing him of blatant cheating. If his cheating was so blatant, then surely you would have noticed it, and commented on it,on that night. That was my point.
-
So "blatant" that you didn't think it was worth a mention at the time? Sore loser, in my opinion.
-
I think this will erase our bad result at Poole.
-
It's once in a blue moon that we get such a result there.......!
-
OnWARDs and upWARDs and forWARD to the play-offs! Hopefully.

Poole Pirates Vs Swindon Robins 29/7/15

Very disappointing, but I think it also shows how strong Poole are and they are on course for three titles in a row. -

I don't have the slightest doubt about Darcy Ward on Wednesday, and what he says to the local rag is meaningless. -

Swindon's New Stadium

Thinking about it, I remember an article in the "adver" some time after the death of our legendary promoter, Ted Nelson, suggesting that all details of the Goddard family arrangement with the land, went to the grave with him. It's all very odd, but that's how it was reported at the time. -

I cannot remember the last time we won at Poole, except for a challenge match some time ago. Will this be the time? Can we at least get a point? It should be a good match either way. -
Quite an enjoyable meeting.
-
Steve Brum will not be celebrating after all! Its a mammoth 4 points for the Mighty Robins!

Swindon's New Stadium

As I understand it, the Goddard family bequeathed the land to the people of Swindon for sport and recreation, but I can't believe that became law.
