  1. if thats the case how can konopka be used if greenwood is still declared and not him.
  2. i understand peterborough have blocked/objected to olly guesting for plymouth.how.
  3. agree the video is deceptive, the track was in very good condition and perfect to race on right up to the last heat with several lines for those that wanted to use them, and a joy to watch the lads racing on it, thumbs up to Phil Morris for organising this. for someone who is not always too bothered about going to cardiff, from the moment they were having their practice laps, i had a buzz about the place, and feel this could be a very good gp.
  4. dont have semis and a final, always been opposed in all forms of speedway, straight points tally, imo
  5. agree with not allowing b/w in the 2 reserve races, but dont see why not in any other race, (what would happen if a draft/reserve rider took a 1-5 riders place would they then be allowed to wear it?). also heat 15, why not?, personally would prefer the old (pre draft) race format.
  6. We asked and about the sec ind. Bspa wont allow it, ACU would love brits in it.
  7. As there is no polish meetings this weekend (all postponed), monday could be a sensible day for a back up.
  8. John langfield. Remember how he would jump the fence to express his opinion so to speak. Run up to the refs box to argue his point etc, Absolute character / racer / nutter (meant in a nice way lol). Problem is that all riders that will get mentioned in this post will get slaughtered by the refs and authorities nowadays with fines bans etc. When I think of things that used to happen at meetings that were part of the entertainment are now dealt with draconian rules. My son got fined £60 just for telling a ref he needed to go to specsavers and that was at nl level.
  9. It does seem having a quick look at the meeting rules they are eligible for heat 15 as a top scorer from 4 programmed rides. Stand to be corrected. Would still prefer to have old format where they meet everyone.
  10. Sounds fair enough, perhaps they listened to what riders were saying.
  11. So still reserves not meeting 1+ 5 unless replacing 2/3/4. Crap again let them race these riders, old format.
  12. People keep going on about cutting costs, I dont see how apart from some ridiculous rule changes that require riders to spend uunnecessary monies, Ie kevlars this season. I do not believe there are enough riders as yet to fill these positions if it comes in and of what standard and if of a low standard then fans will drift away more so, as its human nature in any domain to go to see the best available, then there is nowhere for these riders to aspire to get to, a ridiculous idea and a lot riders will be more inclined to pack it in with the restraints.
  13. and throw in the fact that mx uses petrol (oil based fuel), and speedway uses methanol (oil washing fuel). not sure about the rev limiters though vince, asked some of the boys that used them and they were a bit inconsistent on the speedway tracks, giving a false indication of what the engine was doing in the turns.
  14. he was on the same as other draft riders
  15. 14-16 november, who knows, just want see 4 riders racing each other for their team,
  16. so our season runs too late, the poles have only just finished in october and someone has said porsing is racing there tomorrow, the cech playoff is tomorrow (thurs) they only have about 5 teams, germans finished oct 5 (3 teams), imo we havent done bad with the fixtures and there's still just over 2 weeks to go. im pretty sure when i was a kid the season ran longer.
  17. they actually shut down the main stage late afternoon due to the weather,
  18. im as biased as you here rob, ash left kyle no room to race (strangely kyle got exc last week against glasgow after passing, not touching, joe ringwood up the inside coming out of 2, ref saying he didnt leave joe any room to race), after looking over and squeezing him up, then ash had to turn himself making it look like kyle was in front but he had to get off at that point. thanks to all the messages asking how kyle is, have to say medics were ott, keeping kyle strapped down, as kyle wanted to get up and told me to get spare bike running in case he got ht15
  19. Next Friday's (28th) Salt Express Sponsored Christmas Cracker Meeting will run as follows: The turnstiles will open at 2.30pm to accommodate long distance travellers who arrive at the track earlier than anticipated, but please note that food will not be available for purchase until approximately 4pm. During the afternoon there will be a Collector's Fayre, whilst the vintage bikes that will be raced by the 'Men In Black' during the course of the main meeting will be on display. There will also be a 'start-line simulator' for fans to have a try out on, it is hoped that some of the earlier arrivals amongst the riders might also have a go to set a time for the fans to try to beat. The pits will be open until approximately 6pm, the meeting race-card (priced £1.00 which is available for purchase upon entry) will have rider pictures and spaces for those who wish to collect the various rider's autographs. The 'Somerset Legends' Pit-Bike Challenge will then take place at about 6pm, this involving Steve Bishop, Glenn Cunningham & Gary Phelps, with Simon Walker also possibly taking part. Depending on time, there might be additional pit-bike races prior to the rider parade for the Cracker Meeting which will take place at 6.40pm, with tapes up on heat 1 at 7pm. The meeting being run over 20 heats with the top 4 scorers contesting the Cracker Final. When there are natural breaks in the meeting after heats 4, 8, 12, 16 when a rider is scheduled to have two races on the trot, & between the conclusion of heat 20 and the Grand Final, the 'Men In Black' will take to the track to race their vintage bikes. There is one change to the original line-up as Claus Vissing is now, unfortunately, unable to take part as his Danish club, Fjelsted, are holding a sponsor's day on the 28th, the day of the Meeting, and Scunthorpe's Ashley Birks will replace Claus in the 16-rider field. Admission prices: Adults - £16.00 Concessions - £12.00 Juniors (12-16) - £4.00 Children (11 & under) - Free (when accompanied by a paying adult) Meeting Race-card - £1.00 Car Park - £1.00 (payable on entry)
  20. 16 rider 20 heat format + final David Howe Ricky Ashworth Simon Lambert Lewis Bridger Ben Barker Ryan Fisher Randy Oldenziel Kyle Newman James Wright Richard Hall Jacob Thorssell Richie Worrall Joe Haines Andrew Tully Derek Sneddon Claus Vissing adults = £16. conc = £12. jnrs= £4. 11 + under free with paying adult as this is not the NYC thought it warranted its own thread
  21. steady will be at rye tomorrow as he said on his twitter weds, possibly in kyle's place as kyle was moved to sheffield to replace david howe yesterday, and we were on our way, fortunately only an hr into the journey when we got the call it was off, so disregarding rye, IF sheffield is rearranged who goes in david (if fit) or kyle
