  1. Watching speedway in March can be torture wherever you are. The coldest I've been was at the Ben Fund meeting at Berwick a couple of years ago. No amount of Scotch pies and coffee helped. I gave up before the last heat and retreated to the Black & Gold to warm up. Foxhall is cold even in the summer once the sun has disappeared behind the 3rd bend.
  2. Clearly not a trophy winning side, but the key will be winning at home to get people through the gate. Without them there will be no future for speedway at Rye House.
  3. They're few and far between since my youngest was born last December
  4. He was a guest for us at Ipswich last year. In the four races he started he didn't complete one. I doubt he did half a dozen laps in total
  5. You had one in Alex "three laps" Edberg. Very frustrating
  6. Pretty much everyone who watches speedway knows that. Hopefully the promoters won't be as forgiving as Len Silver and make changes when necessary
  7. Pretty much what the Lamberts did to Rye House?
  8. Because they were convinced Lambert was signed sealed and delivered. Either they didn't discuss money beforehand and baulked when they discovered what he wanted, or Lamberts parents upped their demands. I can't believe a guy that runs a successful touring car team could be so naive My theory is that Warren Scott and his team wildly underestimated the costs involved in running a speedway team. It's very easy to make up figures when you're running a cash in hand business. I believe they could've been sold a pup
  9. Sell by date is fine. It's use by date you wanna watch You must've skipped a page or two.
  10. Heeps scored paid 27 points from 12 rides for Ipswich at Rye last season. That's pretty decent.
  11. Any chance you take this clan war to the appropriate thread please?
  12. Perhaps the mods should lock the thread until March. Would that be ok for you?
  13. Are we still gonna have the nonsense of Edward Kennett missing meetings when Lakeside run on the same night, or will the new promoters tell em to get stuffed?
  14. They also had four riders averaging over, or very close to 8 points a meeting.
  15. Masters could be Edinburgh number 1 now Cook has left
