Rye House V Ipswich Witches 9th April
Shadders replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We've had a few that have put in less than 100% over recent years. All I want to see is riders giving it their best efforts. If they're not good enough, well, that's up to the manager & promoters to sort out. -

Probably mate, but even trying to pass anyone shows some effort. -

At least he's putting the effort in. He fell attempting to go round Danny King in heat 11. Just doesn't look comfortable on the bike -

Karger didn't look at all happy on the track walk after the meeting, contrast to last week when he looked full of beans after his points helped to win the match against Somerset. -

From the gate Cut back on second bend works, but main passing seems to be on bend 4 -

We've had the facility at Rye for a few years. -

There is a separate entrance for debit/credit cards. Most people carry those. Not having change for paying customers and turning them away seems odd though -

Agree with HKP. Rye will have much tougher meetings, starting next week when Peterborough come to town. Ipswich (Covatti apart) were bad. Even Danny King looked below par. The heat 15 gift of a 5-1, when Kennett opted out, made the score look a little more respectable for Ipswich. Peter Karger continues to disappoint. Decent crowd. Karger is averaging exactly 1.00 from 4 meetings -

Sun is peeking through the clouds just before 5pm. Can't see any serious rain clouds about -

Dunno Waco, I'd bring one just in case. Brightened up considerably over Hoddy. -

Steady rain for most of the night in Hoddesdon. Still raining now. Anything decent on TV tonight? -
Edinburgh Vs Berwick Fri 8th
Shadders replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Don't expect the most pessimistic Edinburgh fan or optimistic Berwick fan saw that coming. It's a shame it'll count for nothing as Glasgow will top the group and the Monarchs will surely strengthen by the time the Bandits return in the league -

Pretty sure it didn't have a roof on when I sat in it during the late 80's -

There is no Tempstand. It's been replaced with a permststand -
Brummies V Rye House Ko Cup 1st Leg Wed 6.april 2016

Let's not get carried away. Birmingham need a strong team, because that's all they have. The Raiders have an entirely different philosophy. Heavy defeats home and away will happen often -
I've had a secret stash of custard creams hidden for ages and nobody in the house has yet to find em. It's not difficult

I suspect Hume wanted to leave Rye

Take out Woods and there's around 6 points to play with
-
Haven't heard anything Waco. Just think it's odd to redeclare for just a couple of meetings, unless there's some obscure ruling I'm unaware of Wouldn't be surprised Hopwood is a decent signing, good for 7 or 8 points a meeting, but nowhere near Branfords class or scoring power.
-
Sounds about right. Just think it's a really strange signing for what would be only two meetings.
-
Conspiracy theory is that Branford won't be taking his place in the Raiders line up and that the Hopwood signing is permanent

Now THATS a great film -
Don't get the Woods signing during the winter. He's a 3 pointer and will stay a 3 pointer. His bike looks slow when he manages to stay on it. He's been around for a while, what is he, mid 20's? I'd rather see a younger rider given a chance who's more likely to improve. Woods won't.
