  1. That tells you all you need to know about the quality of British Speedway these days
  2. In that case, you should be forced to track another British three pointer at 7. If Ged Rathbone is as astute as you claim, he'll have no bother finding another.
  3. Me too. I've not got a problem with him. He's box office. Good luck to him
  4. It's no secret that Rye tried signing him, but he was already committed to Edinburgh. The only one worried should be Peter Karger
  5. If I didn't like something I'd hardly be encouraging the manager of the team I support to do the same.
  6. There was a time when almost every visiting rider was scared riding around there
  7. Watts averaging below 6 in the EL, which is virtually the PL with a few top class riders sprinkled about. He'd struggle to average much over 8 in the PL
  8. If Peterborough can track a Czech at number 7, then anythings possible
  9. What's a 5.40 EL average convert to, 8.6 ish? Anyway, could Scunny afford him?
  10. You need to calm down a bit pal. Why is it you've only appeared when someone mentions your little boy? No comment about the meeting?
  11. Probably can do the odd meeting, but every Sunday and some midweek meetings? Can't see a problem
  12. Perhaps home riders needed more time to work on their bikes?
  13. All well and good having an upgrade to the stadium and facilities, but the first priority should be getting the track right.
  14. Don't think Newcastle will challenge for the title from what I saw yesterday, but they are a definite for the play offs
  15. Berwick team did the same at Rye last week. Love the new touch at Rye House where the team walk around the track after the meeting to thank the fans. It all started at the start of the season when the parade truck couldn't get going and team manager Peter Schroeck just took em out on the walk instead. No idea if the truck has been repaired yet, but many of us prefer it as it is now.
  16. Maybe she's the next Newcastle team manager in training?
  17. It's a shame I can't make Glasgow this year. Haven't been for ages since they changed the fixture of our Northern Tour Sunday meeting from Glasgow to Newcastle.
  18. Little bit of gossip. I heard Robert Lamberts mother was ejected from the pits mid meeting. By whom, or for what I've no idea.
  19. Both away meetings at Sheffield & Peterborough were victims of rain offs I predicted a 8-10 point away win before the meeting and was fearful when I saw Lambert take care of Kennett in heat 1, but the stop start nature of the meeting (mainly due to Newcastles impatience at the gate) and poor return from the Diamonds reserves didn't do them any favours. An inspired heat 14 by Lanham & Lykke put the seal on a surprise, but welcome win. Kennett back to his best and trump card Kasper at reserve were the difference. Can't remember the last time I saw a rider have 6 bonus points in a meeting. Leigh Lanham with a useful return, but it was Cam Heeps turn to have an off night. Wasn't expecting it to be as dramatic as the Berwick meeting, but the numerous restarts didn't help with the flow of the meeting. Steady drizzle from about heat 6, but the rain became heavier as we pulled away from the car park 15 minutes after the meeting had ended. Someone said Lambert rode around the tapes while heading to the start of heat one, an exclusion under the new rules. Anyone else notice that?
  20. What's happened to the moderation on this forum. Shocking filth that
  21. Clouds quite high. Can't see any significant rain for a while. Not many here unfortunately
  22. looking towards track from our back garden (we're half a mile away), the sky looks pretty dark
  23. Cheers. Saw he was RR on Thursday and thought he may be injured
