The only Aussie I can recall who had less confidence was Kurt Shields.

Just seen the Peterborough line up. Is it April 1st already? -
Last time I was there was after the Rockets shock KOC victory over the Bandits. That'll be the last time I'll go there. Too old for nightclubs
-
Really hoping the club continues to run, as like you I've no idea what I'll be doing on Saturday nights without speedway in Berwick.
-
I like the idea of walking up to a speedway stadium and being able to watch from wherever I want without the fear of having my head kicked in.
-
Correct. Hammers have him in the line up on their website
-
Raiders probable line up: 1. Rob Branford 2. Matt Saul 3. Luke Priest 4. George Hunter 5. Ben Morley 6. Macaulay Leek 7. Connor Locke

I noticed he was very non comittal during his centre green interview after your last home meeting when asked about returning next year. It's been said he phoned the Rye promotion to ask about a team place after Peterborough let him go. We couldn't fit him in due to Peter Karger not having had the required 4 home and 4 away due to a rain off at Sheffield. A blessing in disguise really as Rob Branford would've probably gone elsewhere.

Blimey, well found. No, it wasn't there. I remember a photo of him, complete with black beard. May have been in one of Norman Jacobs books.

Craig Saul, the Rye House announcer, calls Ben Morley, "The Shrimpster", referring to his home town, Southend-on-Sea, who's football team are known as the Shrimpers. It could also be a reference to his small stature when he first started racing for the Raiders. As far as I know nobody else uses the nickname, only Craig I think there was a guy named Jamie Habbin, who rode in pink leathers for Peterborough in the early 90's and was known as the Pink Panther. Or Yarmouth Bloaters I recall reading somewhere that he used that as a nickname, but the speedway authorities banned him from using, so he changed his name by deed poll to Tyburn Gallows. Don't remember his real name, Ray something.

Andrew Silver leaving the club didn't help. He had a huge part in Danyon Humes progression from someone who could hardly stay on his bike for four laps to a solid NL second string and decent PL reserve. The younger Raiders could do with his coaching

Perhaps he wanted to leave

I was right under the refs box. Chris Gay was on the phone to the pits pretty much the entire time from when he didn't allow Palm Tofts inclusion in heat 15 to when Bates appeared on the track. No announcement was made. I certainly didn't hear Lewis Kerrs name announced. Like B4e, I thought it was a delaying tactic to allow Bates and his mechanic a little more time to get ready. It failed miserably. Like some other posters, I'm mystified why the rule exists in the first place
-
I was under the impression you couldn't guest for two different teams at a track within 8 days. As Bates was riding for his team Sheffield last week he was eligible to guest last night. I'm prepared to be corrected. What should've been a cracker was spoiled by the endless reruns and various delays. Battling performances from both teams. Sad to see Cameron Heeps down to the bare bones with his equipment. The heat 15 farce spiced it up a bit.

ROCKETS 1. Edward Kennett 2. Kasper Lykke 3. Cameron Heeps 4. Leigh Lanham 5. Stuart Robson 6. Rob Branford 7. Ben Morley SCUNTHORPE 1. Thomas Jorgensen (guest) 2. Michael Palm Toft 3. Lewis Kerr 4. Fritz Wallner 5. Ryan Douglas 6. Josh Bates (guest) 7. Nathan Stoneman (guest) The last Premier League meeting at Rye this year. Personally I think we're gonna be tested. Hopefully we'll have enough firepower to gain the win so that we finish above the Bandits.
-
Marc Owen? That must've been over 3 laps
-
Yep, no hold ups. The meeting ran smoothly.
-
Straightforward win for the Raiders. IOW providing only one heat winner, Nathan Stoneman. Would've been two if Stoneman hadn't fallen on the last bend of heat 2 when comfortably ahead. Fair play to the dozen or so Warrior fans who made the trip. Pretty poor turnout.

Just had his last programmed race in heat 10 . He'll have about 2 and a half hours to get from Arlington to Rye House. Can be done in 2 hours according to Google Maps IF the Dartford Tunnel traffic is kind and he keeps within the speed limits. Should be ok. *EDIT*Well, Eastbourne decided to use him as RR in heat 13, so that gives him around 2 hours 15 minutes to get here. He's in heat 1 too. Good luck!
