  1. Groundhog Day. Another point lost over the closing heats. From reports we got away lightly due to some BV machinery issues. Not sure what we're supposed to do now. A top four place looks unlikely. Do we just consolidate, or make a change or two for a late play off push? Gut instinct tells me the former. I'm not gonna knock individual riders as I wasn't there. Every other side has made changes, some even dropped riders that seemed to be doing ok. Professional speedway is a tough sport. Difficult decisions need to be made.
  2. About a 2 minute drive from Shielfield Park Cliffeboy. I may pop along to a few meetings, purely as a neutral. Once a Rocket always a Rocket
  3. You expect the Rye promoters to run a challenge meeting at a loss to please a couple of hundred Bees fans? Be realistic. With doubling up/down/sideways it's always gonna be difficult to arrange mid season challenge meetings. Gone are the days when massive crowds would turn up for these kind of events
  4. Why would the Rye House promotion run a challenge meeting with two of the top 3 missing? Would've probably made a loss on the night. Disappointing for the few Coventry supporters that had planned to travel, but best to vent your anger at the people who killed your club.
  5. As I said in my post, it doesn't affect me, When I return from holiday I'll be a resident of Berwick Upon Tweed.
  6. Going into a meaningless meeting without arguably your top two would've made it commercially unviable for the Rye House promotion, despite the few Coventry fans that would've made the journey down. It's not affecting me now, but the gap between meetings is becoming a joke. Rockets fans have become used to a regular Saturday evening fix. I know there have been rumblings of discontent regarding this.
  7. Doubt there will be any team changes unless there are long term injuries. First season in the top league was always gonna be consolidation. I never bought into the title favourite bolloxios on here and the Rye FB page. Play offs look doubtful and I predict maybe one or two more home defeats before the regular season ends. The promotion are still learning and need to think wisely during the winter as to the make up of next years side. Sentiment shouldn't play any part in it.
  8. Anyone who thinks certain riders don't lose on purpose is deluded. I heard a story about a PL number one who was looking to reduce his average for the following season. Five "engine failures", but the promoter paid as if it was a maximum. This was confirmed to me by the gentleman himself a few years later.
  9. If it's affecting his riding, he should be resting until the injury heals.
  10. Was at Swindon in 2011 on the Thursday before the Cardiff GP for an EL meeting with Poole. One pass in 15 heats. Tonight couldn't have been worse than that surely?
  11. Kurtz scored 16 from 5 (including a tactical win) last time at Rye with Poole King scored 6 from 5 with Leicester
  12. Must be a family thing. His big brother wasn't much better tonight
  13. Great win for Berwick, but shocking and embarrassing from the Diamonds. With two hopeless reserves you're gonna need your top five to perform. Hopefully this'll give the Bandits a boost. I may even turn up to watch a few meetings.
  14. Some people have mentioned average manipulation as the real reason KL found it convenient to use the weather as a reason to call this off. Not sure how that rule works. Last night would've been the sixth home meeting. Either way you shouldn't be able to call a meeting off without an inspection by an SCB official. Speedway is losing credibility fast in the UK. This isn't helping.
  15. Dr Harold Shipman... over 200 murders attributed to that monster.... Pretty sure he wasn't a foreigner. Peter Sutcliffe? A Yorkshireman I believe. You want some more? Nothing to do with political correctness, but plenty to do with knocking over the ramblings of a bigot. As the offspring of immigrants, who worked and contributed taxes their entire lives here, I take great exception to this misinformed idiotic bile
  16. All of them are on benefits? What a ridiculous thing to say and just plain racist. No English born and bred claim benefits then?
  17. One of my Rye House supporting FB friends travelled up by train and asked directions from several people as to the wherabouts of the track. Very few of them knew there was a speedway track in Leicester.
  18. Picky.... 60-80% of rain between 2-3 according to Met Office. Perhaps the forecast you've seen says different? Weather forecasting is very hit and miss. You can check three different sources and they'll give you three different forecasts.
  19. Rockets fans very pleased with Ellis. I must admit to being a little dubious when we signed him
  20. Must be some black cat owners in Berwick mourning their loss.
  21. Edward Kennett is the key man. If he shows up the Rockets could go away with a point at least
