New Year Classic 2008
Shadders replied to tanya's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I was in the main stand looking after my wheelchair bound daughter, just like I said I would be. You're memory must be going with all that lager. Anyway, you were spotted by my spies who tell me you hardly moved from your spot!! You obviously couldn't afford the £1 extra it would have cost to come over our side. I'll be on the back straight when Rye come to town if you're that desperate to meet me, I'm not bothered either way. I've kept all the PM's you've sent me if you want reminding who's so desperate to meet who. Please show me a quote where I've called you a keyboard warrior Anyway, on to more important things than arguing with a half wit. Apart from the first heat it was a pretty tame affair on a tricky surface. There were one or two hard first turns, but apart from that pretty pedestrian. Well deserved win by Bomber and a terrific performance from Brent. The two new Poles were pretty dire, Tim Stone will have probably signed em both up by now. -
These are the admission prices for the London Zoo in Regents Park...... Adult £13 Child (3-15) £10 Under 3s FREE Student/Senior Citizen/Disabled £11.50 Saver ticket: 2 adults & 2 children or 1 adult & 3 children = £41 For each disabled person, 1 carer can receive free admission. Adults pay less, but kids pay more, although London Zoo is MUCH larger than Paradise Wildlife Park. I worked out that admission to each for the four of us would be £31 to Paradise and £31.50 to London Zoo. It seems that Paradise is a little overpriced.

Had my arm twisted by the other half and the kids, so yes, we'll be there wrapped up warm enough to endure an Arctic winter!!! -

Try again Hoping to go, will check weather forecast before we leave. Missed the indoor event at Brighton, so I'm needing my speedway fix. Not a big fan of individual events though, but other half and kids are twisting my arm -

Just so you know what this knobhead looks like should you happen to bump into him..... That's the idiot on the left As the parent of a disabled child I take great exception to this muppet. Not surprisingly you'll find him propping up the bar at Newport speedway, but not when Rye House are there amazingly!! -
Only went there once, in 1988...Rockets scored 60+ on a very wet Wednesday evening. Only remember Woods, Lyndon, Chalcraft and Brice for us and Gary O'hare and Keith White for Invaders.

Brilliant site, thanks. I only went to Harringay once, to watch greyhounds, before they bulldozed it and put up a Sainsbury's store.
-
Thanks, it does. Still needing to know the track length please, if anyone has the info.
-
Any idea of the track length?

Greetings. I'm looking for any photographs of Southampton, New Cross and Crayford speedway stadiums, especially overhead shots. Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be appreaciated.

Looking forward to Tai v Ed and to see how Robert Mear and Danny Betson do in this sort of company with an eye towards 2008. -

I heard that too. The upside of the £1 price increase is that kids get in free. Mine do every week anyway in the boot of the Shadmobile. -
Another triumph for Royal Mail

Harry Ramsden's in now just corporate rubbish. I went to the original Ramsdens in Yorkshire back in the early 80's and have tried the "new" Ramsden's in a couple of different locations. Believe me there is no comparison whatsoever. Best fish n chips I've had is Yorkshire Fisheries in Blackpool run by a Greek family. -
Fantastic meeting. My first Champions Chase and hope it's not the last. Track was in superb condition, all the rain the previous night helped. Bomber and Johnno both praised the track during the presentation, so it can't be as bad as painted by some bitter PL suporters who's teams have been whacked again. Highlight of the night was Adams ride in the final, up with Bomber for most of the race until his bike "died" for a couple of seconds, but there were so many good races it's hard to choose a race of the night. Daniel Nermark looked very good until his final ride, Chris Holder was disappointing. Special mention to the Coventry riders who gave it 100% with such an important match coming up tomorrow. Biggest losers were Paul Lee, who was very rude to the pits gate man when arriving, calling him a ****, glad to see him bomb out early and anyone who was thinking of attending, but didn't..you missed a cracker! Hope Bomber enjoys his skiing holiday

Wish I could, but got kids this weekend and they'd be home too late on Sunday night. Looks like it's updates for us -
