  1. He sure did, three race wins wasn't it? ... He also had a good battle with Andre Compton in another.
  2. In my dim distant memory I remember seeing a 4 team meeting at Mildenhall involving the Raiders, could possibly been the NL4TT in 2004? ..... I seem to remember Luke being involved.
  3. Would have been nice if she was singing live though ..... It was quite comical when she missed her cue and forgot to start miming.
  4. You can have our place if you want ..... Early exit beckons for the Rockets
  5. Tonedeaf said it ..... There is absolutely nothing to do around Wembley ..... Cardiff is the ideal location ..... Countless restaurants, bars and nightclubs within walking distance of the stadium and hotels ..... Cardiff for me every time.
  6. A visit to Chippy Alley at around 3am is traditional, then stand on the corner opposite the Travelodge and watch the drunks fight it out with the Police at chucking out time
  7. Having missed the GP this year due to childcare issues, the ex wife has been warned well in advanced that I'm off to Cardiff for the weekend next July ..... B4e's dad has taken care of all the hotel and meeting tickets, all I have to do is stump up the cash to pay him!!
  8. There are over a dozen different Cardiff threads on the Speedway Grand Prix section .... Why do you think you should start another one on the wrong section of the forum?
  9. I really can't wait for next Sundays double meeting!!!
  10. Same as last year then Thanks for the loan of the armchair last night ..... couldn't face that drive back home to North London at 3am this morning after coming out of the Walkabout
  11. Had a good chat with him before the meeting as he was holding a pint of cider in each hand ...... He was later seen with a couple of pints of bitter (one for Paulco he said), so I should imagine he had fun Huge congrats to the Brummies, especially honorary Rocket Jason Lyons ..... It looked grim for them early on as Tomas Piszcz struggled ..... At one stage it looked as though he was competing with Chris Neath for the lowest individual score of the night ..... Bluejam and UK Martin kept telling me he was is s*it hot form, which is why I backed them as outsiders to win. Huge crowd at the OTA, but the toilet facilities were inadequate ..... HUGE queues for both the gents and the ladies ..... Big thumbs up to the chicken curry, and the pork roast smelled fantastic, perhaps next time Good to meet up with loads of old speedway buddies again, including the ones at Walkabout in Cardiff after the meeting (we walked away from Jumpin' Jaks who were charging £12 admission!!), nice to meet Jay for the first time in the Walkabout ..... I hope Rico's recovered in time for tonight's GP Spotted loads of riders and assorted speedway people (mostly pointed out to me by B4E, I haven't got a clue ) including a very jovial Ronnie Russell and Bomber Harris out in the city centre past midnight (presumably heading for his hotel room and bed?)
  12. 3. Artiom Laguta - (2,3,2,1,3) 11+3 He was impressive at Rye House during the recent U21 Qualifier ..... Wouldn't mind seeing him in Rockets colors as Joe Haine's replacement.
  13. Learning from those at the top?? You've changed your team to exactly what I have Bandits4eva here
  14. I couldn't give a stuff about the commentators or interviewers ..... I'm glad to have the opportunity to see Britain's best live on TV ..... Some people aren't happy unless they have something to moan about.
  15. Some decent racing ..... Shame for Richardson who deserved better after his early races ..... Congrats to Bomber and especially to Ed ..... Good to see ex Rockets performing well tonight ..... Best of luck to Ed in Cardiff
  16. I was shocked to see British referee and clerk of the course for the day Dave Robinson without his trademark ZZ Top style beard!!
  17. It's been a long time since I've seen a "lets see if you can do better" post. Marvellous
  18. Officially he was "ill", but I was told he was struggling badly with the track in practice and probably didn't fancy it ..... He couldn't have been any worse than Tim Gomez was today surely?
  19. One brilliant race between Tai, Lewis Bridger and Kozza Smith that was top class ..... apart from that there wasn't much else to excite ..... There were too many delays and the track was very dry early on with the threat of rain .... Bad news for Rye fans, Joe Haines breaking a hand after the German wobbler locked up in front of him in heat 3 ..... There were some others who were way out of their depth, including Tim Gomez who was very poor ...... Bad luck to Tai who was on course to win the meeting before a puncture in his last race, but congratulations to Rob Mear for winning the meeting ..... Most impressive of the visiting Europeans was Artur Mroczka, who was always in the mix and unlucky not to win at least one race ..... Bridger showed his lack of class after Smith had blocked him well on the last bend of heat 8 buy waiting at the pits gate to remonstrate with Smith who did nothing wrong with that move. Looks like we'll be missing Joe Haines for a while, and with a trip to Workington and a Northern Tour coming up it couldn't have happened at a worse time ..... Craig Saul announced good news for Rye fans, then announced that Tommy Allen should be back for our visit to Workington on Saturday ..... Still waiting for the good news.
  20. Just as well with those Polish/Russian names ..... I still raise a smile when I remember you trying to pronounce Sayfutdinov As far as the weather goes it's going to be one of those frustrating afternoons of short bursts of sunshine between the clouds ..... the forecasts don't predict any rain until late this afternoon, so we should be ok.
  21. I can see your point ..... We're less than half an hour away and the novelty of seeing a wet track at Rye is too tempting to miss!!
  22. I was at Rye for the U21 a couple of years ago when Sayjfutinov(?) won the meeting in atrocious conditions ..... there is no way a domestic meeting would've even started with the track that wet ..... The track will have to be under six inches of water for the FIM to abandon this meeting.
