Happy with a point Glenn?
-
A point is more than I could've wished for at Berwick, especially with Neathy missing and Jordan missing his last 2 rides... Bad news about Alex Edberg though, kinda puts a dampner on any Bandits celebrations I would guess... Best wishes to him and Jordan.

Idiots On 3rd Bend Lower Tier Cardiff

Plus you can't take your dogs into the stadium Unfortunately in a crowd of 40,000+ you're bound to get a few trouble makers, especially when the booze has been flowing freely all day and the jingoistic attutude of some of the morons out there doesn't help either... Surely the answer is a police presence inside the stadium... Stewards on the whole don't want to get involved, but the sight of a few dozen Heddlu would surely put a lot of the potential trouble makers off... The main reason I suspect is cost. Stewards are the cheap option, but as with most things you gets what you pays for! -

No brainer surely? ...I'd always side with the people who actually have to race on it... Perhaps by "the best", NP meant "the least bumpy and rut free!!" -

We had the pleasure of meeting Nikki Pedersen at Leigh Delamere Services on Thursday morning. He stood and posed for a photo and had a quick chat... We also sat at the next table to Freddie Lindgren and his family/sponsors in an Italian Restaurant on Friday evening. Although it was obvious that we knew who he was we didn't bother him as respected the fact he was out enjoying his evening before an important occasion. If it'd been out on the street we certainly would've spoken to him and taken photo's, but in a restaurant no way! -

I compare the Cardiff GP to the Monaco F1 GP... The racing very rarely lives up to expectations, but as a must be at event it's pretty hard to beat!... If finances and work commitments permit I can't see any way that I'd ever want to miss a Cardiff GP weekend. -

From what I've seen in the artists impression the new Manchester track will be more of a Leicester/Newcastle shape than Hyde Road which for what I've seen in photos was more like the Sheffield/Peterborough in shape although slightly longer I'd imagine -

To be fair to Ben, unless you were standing on a box it would be difficult to make any sort of eye contact with you! -

Cardiff is the perfect place... Smack bang in the middle of all those bars, clubs and restaurants... Let's hope they get something sorted. -

I'll throw in my twopenneth in and say that although the racing was on the whole pretty dull, the weekend as a whole was fantastic... For anyone who arrives on Saturday afternoon and just goes to the GP then toodles off home I can understand why they were less than impressed... Those of us lucky people's weekend started on Thursday with Jonno's meeting at Swindon, then spent Friday evening at the Walkabout, Saturday afternoon in the Prince of Wales with some quality shopping thrown in with great company can't wait until next years event!! -
Corner of St Mary's Street and Wood Street (the road that leads up to the stadium) Entrance/exit to the pub on both streets map of Cardiff City centre I'll be there as usual... Normally a good turnout, although some are pretty shy in coming forward, so please identify yourself to the short Greek chap

Cardiff Tickets On Day
Shadders replied to phillips11's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Last years entertainment was pretty good... Friday night in the Walkabout. Jason Doyle and Darcy Ward pissed and making total arses of themselves before being thrown out by a burly female bouncer. Watching Ward being chased around the bar by her before she "removed him from the premises" was probably the highlight of the weekend!! Also, in 2008, Andrew Tully being chased down St Mary's Street by the Heddlu at 3am!! -
You must be joking Ben... There have been plenty worse over the years. Chads, Tamers, Shuttle Cubs, Lacemen, Poppies and probably the worst, Bloaters!!! That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are more... Cobras was the name given to the speedway side in the post war film "Once A Jolly Swagman". I remember Len stating that he lost money on only one meeting staged at Rye House last year... I wonder how many this year? Hard to tell how many Hackney fans are at Rye House as they would have to still own the jackets and other clothing they had back in 1996 as I don't think Lakeside or Rye House track shops sell Hawks branded apparel
-
I recall the metting last year finishing around 8.30pm, so I wouldn't hang around too long after the last heat.... The Cardiff Central Sation is in fact a mere 150m from the southern end of the stadium (3rd & 4th bends), so you could have a very short walk to the station... There may be queues at the station though, so if you're not a huge fan of fireworks I'd keep an eye on the time and make a quick departure before the rush for the exits. Also, if you're on one of the upper tiers you'll have to allow extra time to get out of the stadium... Enjoy

It may be something to do with the fact that an ex Rocket and pit regular has been advising away sides on the correct sprocket settings to use Similar to your last season of PL racing at West Row when most visiting sides supporters provided half the crowd, or in Rye House's case three quarters!! Even the track staff outnumber the Hawks support at Rye House

The barrier has nothing to do with Rye House Speedway as I belive it's a private road owned by one of the water companies. It can easily be bypassed by carrying on down the A414 and driving through Hoddesdon, adding a few minutes to your journey Not sure what your beef is with the car park, seems ok to me and I've been parking there since 1985. At least it's free, unlike some places. Armadale & Glasgow charge £2 for the privelege. The track I admit isn't the best, but I haven't heard any riders complain about bumps and ridges. It's one of the smoothest tracks in the league, which is what most away fans seems to be complaining about. You may be refering to the adverse camber on the first and second bends. That is something that Rye fans have been puzzled about for ages. I had it explained to me by Mark the track man last week but I can't remember exactly what he said!! You are pretty much spot on there.

There is an air of negativity at Rye House full stop and people are deserting the place in droves. Why would you think they'd come back to watch a NL side that doesn't even bear the name of Rye House?

Not in the least bit interested in the PL Pairs this year. I would've been tempted with the pairing of Doyle & Frampton though... No, for me it will be a nice quiet Friday night at the Walkabout in Cardiff
