  1. Good shout, but we're at the mercy of the Moanarchs promotion who sort out all of the PL fixtures... The Rockets Northern tours seem to be taking place earlier and earlier in the season, so don't be surprised if we're travelling up there in late April when there will still be snow on the ground!
  2. Yep! Three Saturdays without a home meeting during the height of the summer. The first home meeting after the games will be Monday 13th August!
  3. The initial agreement was for Jason Doyle to race until Steve Boxall was fit, but was then told that a team place was his until the end of the season. Two weeks later he was released... In hindsight it was a terrible decision and that, coupled with his comments to the crowd when barracked, cost him a third of his attendances for the rest of the season. Whether they will return this year we'll have to wait and see!
  4. Plans shelved as we're in Berwick on the Saturday night for some promoters welcome do!!
  5. Unless they reach another KOC final they won't have a bigger crowd this year!
  6. Good news about the double header admission prices, but still no family ticket, which is disappointing... £32 for four of us to get into Newport today, fantastic value for money!
  7. I think you may want to look into which forecaster you use in the future... BBC forecast rain early on clearing, then more rain around midday which is exactly what happened! As for the meeting.. a couple of good races on a ploughed field of a track. Plenty of fallers early on when the track was at it's wettest and a farcical result... How the winner can qualify for the final with only one win and 3 finishes to his name from 5 races is beyond me! Some scary moments, mostly involving Chris Schramm, who can't have done his chances of a team place any good, and some determined riding from Ricky Ashworth were the highlights. The same two riders met three times in the qualifiers... You think that's ok? The difference is that Howe only completed half of his qualifying rides!
  8. Compared to Telford where for 17 and a half quid you could watch 20 heats of mostly gate and go around a dustbin lid on an ice rink!... Once was enough, never again!
  9. Cheers DB... We plan to be there for around midday, so an early call off would be handy if the weather looks iffy
  10. Doesn't look good on the BBC website... Steady rain early on Monday morning and again around midday
  11. Still have around 11 weeks until the start of the season... What's the panic?
  12. Are you two on drugs?.... We'd have to lose a few home meetings to finish anywhere near the bottom. We won't lose any! Spinny, I'll wager that we'll finish higher than you in the PL!
  13. Well, we're definitely going... The Cardiff GP gets 40-50K every year, but the racing is rarely anything to write home about despite the "world class" line up!... It'll be good to get out of the house see some racing after being cooped up indoors over christmas!
  14. 12 qualifing heats with 2 semi's and a final would be 15 heats, the same as a league match... I assume the admission price will reflect this.
  15. Can I order 4 blankets for the first row of the main stand about level with the start line please?
  16. Easily found on speedway Updates ... http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rockets2011&action=display&thread=9620
  17. Thanks for the replies re disabled parking... email on it's way to Birmingham speedway,,, See you there!!
  18. I'm not interested in seeing 4 untried riders struggling around or sitting through a 4 hour meeting as is the norm with Rye House double headers!
  19. Considering coming up for this under severe pressure from the other half... Don't fancy the trek over from the shopping centre with the wheelchair, so what's the chances of reserving a space in the stadium car park?
  20. Who's gonna take a chance on him after he's let down so many sides?
  21. £14 is a decent price for Premier League racing... Somerset also charge a quid to park your car, at Rye House it's free.
