Impressive... Thanks for the link Iris

This is my worry. Hopefully his feet are planted firmly on the ground and he is surrounded by the right people. Not seen too much of him as he's been racing in Germany at weekends. I recall a "race" he had with Nelson last year after a Rye House meeting. Didn't look 13 years of age. Hopefully he can be persuaded to ride for the Raiders when he's reached 15 Anyone know how he's getting on over on the continent?

I was thinking the same as I watched him effortlessly going unbeaten at Workington on Monday... His EL career seems to be going well too with a 4.63 CMA, not at all shabby for a NL rider! Back to subject... Been a topic for weeks amongst Rye fans as to why on earth Jason isn't riding in the NL

Didn't follow the U21's, so wouldn't know. Cant imagine that Stefan has seen much of the Rye House, let alone ride on it. A remarkable effort and good news for British speedway if he continues his progress. A Premier League berth is guaranteed next year.

I know Stefan is part English/Danish, but who is he pledging his allegiance to? I've yet to see him ride. A remarkable performance from the lad.

Should take you as close as you need to be. Pass the station, Rye pub then turn right into the free car park which should be full by 1:30... You may be able to park in the karting track behind the stadium If they still allow.... Enjoy!!

Raiders V Lynn Young Stars Sat 2nd June
Shadders replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
I prefer to be close to the track, not watching over a stock car track You're figure will be fine if the reported portion size reduction is anything to go by! -
Not much to get excited about from what I've seen so far!
-
Has the meeting finished?... Doesn't seem to be many people there!! *Edit* Pre meeting interview

Rye Raiders V Buxton Hitmen Mon 7th May..approx 4pm
Shadders replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
I'd doubt it very much if you'd be allowed to use that ticket to gain readmission to another meeting... As normal PL prices applied on Monday the NL meeting was effectedly free, so you shouldn't really expect free admission to another PL meeting just becuase you arrived late on Monday!... I reckon you've got a cheek to ask!! -

I didn't even know who Roynon rode for, so hardly knocking Dudley!... I couldn't give a stuff who he rides for as I have very little interest in the NL -

I can't believe Adam Roynon is allowed to ride in all 3 leagues. Sure the guy has had terrible luck with injuries, but allowing him to mug kids of their pocket money in the NL is just taking the p***!! -

I feel for the Buxton riders, fans and officials for a wasted journey, but anyone who saw the state of the track would agree that it wasn't worth risking man and machine in those conditions! -
I only made a handful of visits to Plough Lane, the first in the late 80's... My abiding memories are the horrendous journey from my North London home and Rye House always getting a beating, except the one visit I made in National League days when we actually won! I always used to think the start and finish lines in seperate places was pretty weird, never had it explained why it was like that. Also, sitting down indoors to watch speedway seemed odd and the stadium being 3/4 empty!

While the fee is un-disclosed it reflects the potential of the rider whilst also reflecting the harsh economic climate of the current day In other words Belle Vue are skint, so accepted the first offer that came their way!

I read somewhere that the IOW had last been seen floating out into the English Channel, heading for France!

Scunthorpe Lose World U21 Meeting
Shadders replied to Yorkscorp's topic in International World of Speedway
Berwick was chosen for a GP qualifier dependant on the necessary work being completed, which they have done at huge expense... The Scunthorpe promotion probaly looked at the cost, thought about it and said, "sod that!" -
According to Nelsons Twitter page, his last Tweet on April 7th stated he was looking for his visa application to be accepted in June!
-
I've got a hunch you're not far off the mark me lord and that he's shelved his plans to race over here... The visa application story could be just a smokescreen he used to buy some time while weighing up his options. He may have had some partner pressure to stay in Australia. Who wants to travel half way round the world with a toddler to live in a caravan at a speedway track away from family and friends?
