British Semi-finals Line-up
Shadders replied to mdmc82's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
No probs Boss It isn't always the fault of the BSPA. For instance, on Saturday lunchtime I was watching Skysports News. At the bottom of the screen on the rolling news came information that the Berwick v Plymouth PL meeting was postponed. Now I'm sure that Sky Sports didn't contact the Bandits promotion to ask them if the meeting was on, so it must of been someone at Berwick, probably Laurence Heppell, the press officer. I have no idea who the press officer is at Rye House, B4E reckons its Pete Hill. It's the press officers job to inform the various media outlets concerning any news from the club. -

I'm sure I heard either Len or Craig announce that they were working on a new website, or they were going to put a link to the Mercury site on the main Rye website. This was a good few weeks ago though. It's a shame that more people don't know of the alternative sites existence, because it is far superior to what the Mercury offers. -

It's miserable down here. Not surprised the meeting has been called off. -

Len Silver is in the enviable position to choose practically any day of the week as he owns the stadium and doesn't have greyhounds and stock cars to run against. I should think the Sheffield promoters have very little leeway when it comes to rearranging fixtures. Why not run both meetings at Rye House? -

Plan B was to take in a Panthers home meeting as it's around 75 minutes drive from us, but guess what? They don't have a home meeting tonight. The next closest to us Ipswich are away at Redcar, so plan D is a visit to our favourite Turkish restaurant! -

Can't see the satrelite fully. Not the best connection on my phone, but your information does seem to contradict the timeline at the top of the page. If indeed it does bucket down when you say, then fair enough. It's saved us a 350 mile round trip! -

I don't know which forecast they're looking at, but the BBC are usually accurate http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2638077 Very odd! -

If the track is under water then fair enough, otherwise it seems like a barmy decision. -

Just how hard did it rain in Sheffield last night? Today's forecast is for a couple of light showers, nothing too bad. Seems as though they're happy to call it off early. Some of us had planned to travel and took time off work... Disappointed. -

Some news for the Rye semi taken from the Rye House website http://ryehouse.co/default.aspx -
Very decent. The rules state he only had to reduce admission by £6 by my reckoning.

Tenner for adults, fiver for kids 6-16, 5's and under free. Not sure about OAP's

Jayne said it was due to costs. This could be travelling costs, not necessarily points money. I don't know where Richard's base is, but perhaps he worked out the fuel costs meant that Rye House was the better option for him.

The track at Buxton is smaller by about 20 yards

Like you I'll follow Rye House home and away whatever the make up of the side. I agree with you about the play off's. I remember clearly standing on the centre green after our play off final win against Sheffield in 2007, but something wasn't quite right. It didn't feel the same as it did in 2005, nowhere near. didn't help that we didn't even finish in the top 4 as Birmingham actually finished fourth, but not by the cut off date. We actually finished fifth that year!! As for Luke, he has his critics and hell be the first to admit he'll never be more than a PL second string/reserve, but you can't help admiring the way he keeps on coming back from these terrible injuries. Its a real shame he sustained these latest injuries as he was in a run of decent form

It would be a scandal if Anders is let go if we can fit him in, as it seems we can. Anyone who saw him race at Somerset on Friday would agree that he was awesome. If Len has any sense he'll make him an offer for next year before someone else does. I'd see him as a straight swop for Jordan who's never really taken to the Rye track and into the hearts of Rye House supporters

Did you take into consideration that there were quite a few Dudley supporters present?
-
No point in signing anyone if Nelson is due back in 3 or 4 weeks

I'm the only one, really? Take a look back in the thread. It's my opinion, so it matters. Maybe not to you, but that's not important.
