  1. On Saturday Len Silver announced that Richie isn't making any money out of speedway, so I guess unless he gets a good offer from another team he'll be sitting out the rest of the season. The word "retirement" was never mentioned.
  2. Try four weeks http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=70895 You're losing your marbles old boy
  3. I can recommend the burgers at Shielfield having tasted delicious cheeseburger at the Rye House meeting.
  4. This is a challenge meeting. Didn't you know?
  5. Thanks for the info... I was wondering how the Swedish clubs manage to attract the worlds top riders when our so called Elite League tracks Premier League reserves and second strings.
  6. What are the average crowds for these meetings?
  7. Don't understand Swedish... What do I do after clicking on the link?
  8. You're probably right, but what were the options?
  9. Really, you think?... The last two Aussies Len signed may have put him off them for good. He managed to find the only Australian with a confidence problem, then signed up Ned Kelly's great great grandson!
  10. Len attempted to purchase Anders as a Rye House asset, but the BSPA want to wait until the end of the season, obviously to see if there are any more bidders and to hike up the price. Stoke would be heartless to stand in his way. I expect he left with their full blessing. As for your second point, I see every gain in replacIng a rider with zero confidence for someone who's keen and fresh. Simon may well be no improvement on what we had, but as Len stated on Saturday, Ritchie wasn't making any money out of speedway, so packing up was a no brainier.
  11. Lol, yeah, just pulling your leg. I had a run in with badge man myself after he laughed when it was announced that it was raining at Berwick when they were holding the GP qualifier. He went very quiet after my rant, then amazingly tried to start a conversation, the first time since I've been going there despite standing no more than a few yards away!! Thas why they call me Terry Tibbs... fank you and goodnight... mach love
  12. Whenever I hear a scouse accent I immediately check for my wallet... Whenever I hear a Black Country accent I'm instantly reminded of Benny from Crossroads
  13. Do things like this really go on? I s'pose I'm lucky to support a side where the fans seemingly don't give a toss.
  14. I don't know Mr Helmsley, never met him, I don't even know his first name. Does he have children? If so wouldn't it be appropriate to take them away in holiday, or take them out of school between November and March when you have to fly half way around the world to get any decent weather? Even if he doesn't have kids, doesn't the guy deserve a break? I'm sure there are people quite capable of running the place for a week or two while Mr Helmsley is away.
  15. X-rays reveal no broken bones for Jason
  16. 15 heats in 65 minutes at Redcar v Rye House this year.
  17. Ben Reede deserved more for his efforts. Only Seven points for Fishers rider replacement when he would've surely had been worth more.
  18. Seems that the Dudley fans are gaining a reputation. They were very mouthy at Rye House recently, made worse with that awful Black Country accent
  19. According to my Mildenhall correspondent, Jason Garrity suffered an injured hand while guesting for the Fen Tigers this afternoon Jason was seen leaving with an ice pack on his injured hand. Let's hope it's nothing serious
  20. My weekend starts at Swindon on Thursday for the EL match with Poole. Giving the pairs a miss, but back from Cardiff in time for the Leicester meeting. Pleased that Rye House aren't having a Sunday meeting. I remember 2 or 3 years ago having to rush back for a 2pm meeting with Glasgow after a "busy" night on the town... Not ideal!
  21. I forgot to mention the track. Two or three were having problems with the second bend, including Kasper who locked up, span around and fell, but on the whole the track held up well despite baking conditions. Well done to all involved. There was a little panic just before the parade with the ref seen talking to the clerk of the course. It seems they were a paramedic short. I gather regulations state there must be four before any racing can commence. There was a nurse on standby in the Tempstand if needed
  22. Some hope the weather may be at last turning. Been a shocking year for weather and injuries.
