  1. He generally does at first, but poorly maintained machinery and an attitude to match will soon have to tearing your hair out!
  2. B4E mentioned Werner yesterday, but I thought she was winding me up!!... And I thought our line up was disappointing! Boxall should be left well alone. He'll only let you down as he has all of the clubs he's signed for.
  3. Should be decent to watch on a track with more passing lines
  4. Yes & yes Basically it's Bunyan for Boxall and Garrity for Morley/Brundle... Anyone who thinks that's not an improvement is barking!!
  5. Rumours suggest that Ben won't be lining up as a Rocket or a Raider in 2012... Relieved that Steve Boxall has been left out. He needs to take the sport more seriously if he wants anyone to give him another chance... I hope the last spot isn't penciled in for Brandon Freemantle as someone has suggested. Far from ready for a PL place. The experience could destroy him.
  6. Jamie has signed for Milton Keynes Knights, riding in the Academy league, racing home matches at Rye House I believe. Below is a quote from the MK Knights Facebook page: 20yr old Jamie Dixon becomes the latest signing for the 2012 MK "Alpine Cooling" Knights Jamie, from Weymouth, started riding speedway 4 years ago as mascot for the Weymouth Wildcats and went on to ride in amateur meetings and a "guest" apperance for the Buxton "Hitmen" in the old Conference League At the start of the 2011 season, Jamie crashed heavily breaking his leg and only returned to track action in mid-August! Towards the end of the season, whilst helping the US Touring team, Jamie made a "guest" appearance for the Long Eaton "Invaders" @ Leicester and went on to wear a "Knights" race jacket in the handicap meeting that the US team arranged @ Leicester in October Saw him race to a faultless maxumum for the MK Knights v Raiders second half mini match at Rye House this year where he rode to a faultless maximum... I had a chat with him after I noticed him talking with John Sampford. Being curious I asked if John had approached for a team spot next year. Trevor wouldn't give a positive answer, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him line up as a Raider. Based in West Sussex I believe, so travel won't be much of an issue.
  7. Adam Roynon has already made his intentions clear that he want's to remain at Redcar and on his average they'd me mad to let him go elsewhere... Still question marks over whether Jason Bunyan will be the same rider we remember before his recent injuries... Jerran Hart has loads of improvement in him, I'd take a punt if he was available and the average was attractive enough.
  8. Speedway Star says Len Silver is not running any home meetings during the 2012 Olympics!... April Fools Day come early?
  9. Unbelievable, but true... Would be a great coup for us, but I just can't see it happening
  10. Speaking to Bandits fans on Saturday night who would more than welcome Gino back to Berwick next year
  11. She doesn't interest me, but Suzi Perry... Now we're talking! Watched the flat track on M & M and thought it was ok except for the races Nelson was in, he was fantastic... Too many riders, too much going on for me. Don't know where to look!
  12. Luke Bowen already confirmed, so unless he's changed his name to Appleton, Allen or Webster.....
  13. Isn't he in New Zealand, or hasn't he left yet?... In any case, Len has a history of allowing certain riders to practice at Rye House. Even if Bunyan was one of those spotted, it doesn't necessarily mean he will be signing for the Rockets.
  14. Already a thread for this Ace of Herts
  15. I assume Shane and Marc will be lining up for Lakeside's NL side next year?
  16. I don't think Len even knows about this White Knight... I was directed by the clearly embarassed lady at the gate towards the person who I think is running the promotional side of things at Rye House (thats promotion in the very loosest sense of the word)... My enquiry was met with a brisk shake of the head!
  17. No need to apologise Haggis, you were not to know.. Another promotion masterpeice from Rye House!! Here is one of the tickets, front and back... As you can see there is no expiry date and no mention that the offer can be withdrawn at any time... Perhaps a mantion to the local trading standards? FRONT BACK
  18. Ooooh,I have that book, but haven't read thorough it yet!!
  19. I picked up one or two free entry tickets to Rye House Speedway from the Speedway Museum while at the Celebration of Speedway in April... When presenting one of these tickets at the turnstile at Rye House on Saturday I was informed that they are no longer being accepted... There is no mention of a use by date, nor is there any warning that the offer can be withdrawn at any time... If there are any of these tickets still on display at the museum I suggest that you remove them to save any disappointment
  20. According to Homes of British Speedway, Nottingham are listed as the Lacemen.. There is no mention of a nickname for either Coventry, Sheffield or Plymouth in 1933, although Coventry are listed only as "Bees", Sheffield as "Tigers" from 1938, and Plymouth as "Panthers" in 1936
  21. No, they are logo's of the teams that Kelvin rode for during his career... Poole, Kings Lynn, Hull, Rye House, Weymouth and Canterbury... Missing logo's are Hackney and Crewe
  22. The jacket you posted a link for was from the Alan Sage Testimonial held at Arena Essex (Lakeside) on 3rd November 1985.
  23. Is it a Rockets race jacket? According to 1986 Speedway Yearbook the Rye House Select side contained Andrew Silver, Ali Stevens, Bob Garrad and Rob Parish... I have the programme somewhere in the garage amongst countless others... At a guess I'd say it was Andrew Silver's race jacket... He rode at number 1 for the Rockets in 1985. Just for those fellow anoraks out there (Rye House unless stated)... Rye House Select 28 (Andrew Silver 4-9; Ali Stevens 4-7; Bob Garrad 4-6; Rob Parish, Mildenhall 4-6); Poole Select 30 (Kevin Smith 4-11; Rob Henry, Mildenhall 4-9; Neil Middleditch, Arena Essex, 4-9; Russell Paine, Arena Essex, 4-1); Kent Select 22 (Barry Thomas, Hackney, 4-8; Rob Tilbury, Canterbury, 4-6; Andy Galvin, Hackney, 4-4; Peter Johns, Wimbledon, 4-4); Kings Lynn Select 16 (Martin Goodwin, Arena Essex, 4-8; Bob Humphries, Arena Essex, 4-4; Kelvin Mullarkey 4-3; Gary Rolls 4-1).
