  1. The pressure on him will unbelievable, especially with so little top class British talent around
  2. When he was with the IOW I was told he deliberately went out and scored 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 in the final home meeting, just to keep his average low enough for the following season, although the promoter paid him for a maximum. Of course this is only alleged, but if true he has form.
  3. Times around Mildenhall these days are around 5 to 8 seconds quicker than those listed. Have bikes become that much faster since then? What was the standard of the meeting, junior, NL, PL?
  4. I make no apologies for being a passionate supporter. Unlike you I can't claim to have inside knowledge of the ins and outs of Rye House, but as someone who has spend thousands of pounds and the majority of my life following Rye House home and away since 1985 I feel I have the right to an opinion. Perhaps a knee jerk reaction to an embarrassing home defeat, but that's me, I'll not change. You're lucky man, I envy you being able to walk away, I can't. Rye House is part of my life. I can't imagine a day when I'll not be able to pitch up and watch speedway at Hoddesdon. I don't even want to think about it. Well, goodbye, I hope you enjoy your retirement from speedway. Just for the record, I have no idea if we've met. I've never heard of you.
  5. Unless you're a fan of fireworks this is a nothing meeting. Ridiculous format with an uninspiring line up usually.
  6. Lower than previous few weeks JC. Can only get worse now we're at the fag end of the season with only another home defeat to Edinburgh and meaningless challenge meetings to look forward to, not to mention the crappy Ace of Herts with its token fireworks to make up for the lack of firepower on the track. Don't think I've felt this low about a Rockets side since the early 90's. Once again a guest is our best performer. Anders was unlucky with an ef and a dodgy looking exclusion from where I was watching. The rest of em can go and do one. That's just not good enough, sorry!
  7. As an average lowering exercise tonight was a great success. I don't remember such a poor performance against a side we would have put to bed a couple of years ago. We've gone from a team of gating tarts to one that can't gate at all. Blink and you could be at Rye House circa 1992... Shocking!
  8. Admission: Adults £16 OAP's £12 Kids (5 to16) £5 Kids under 5 free
  9. That was the admission last year. I'll be astounded if that's increased
  10. Nothing on the Rye website. I'll ask around tomorrow at the track and post the details, unless someone else gets in before me.
  11. I'd usually be confident of a fairly easy time against Redcar, but with the current line up who knows? I presume Ben Morley will again deputise for Jason Garrity Josh Grajczonek has proved to be a more than capable guest for Charlie, so I'm fairly confident of a home win, but it will be close and it won't be easy. Barring any mast minute hitches I'll be there, with the GP on Sky+
  12. Too much to do down here meaning we couldn't have got away until 4, nowhere near enough time for the 190 mile journey.
  13. Not heard any more news. He already had a gash on his thigh, so perhaps just a precaution. The meeting was lost by then anyway.
  14. Doyley's shoulder kept popping out, but I think he's had it operated on and seems ok now. I like Charlie, but he seems to be missing too many meetings for various reasons. Don't know if he can give 100% for a full season. If It was my choice I'd have Doyle at number one.
  15. Would be my choice as Rockets number one in 2013. Tough as nails and fantastic to watch
  16. Jason Garrity has pulled out of the meeting http://ryehouse.co/default.aspx
