  1. Agreed. Only 2 likely winners in my opinion. Weather forecast is good, thankfully.
  2. Saw a bloke having himself photographed with one he'd just landed behind the Tempstand on Saturday. Must've been about a foot long.
  3. Although it was great to have our name on the Premier League Trophy again and even better that Kings Lynn finished top of the league, but lost out in the semi final, it still didn't feel the same as 2005 as the Rye fans swarmed all over the track and centre green after we demolished Sheffield in the final.
  4. Always a first time. Still, it's not my problem as I'm one of the many that will not be attending the restaging.
  5. I'd be amazed if they pull that stunt. A free insert would do the job
  6. Not as far as I'm aware, but he'll not be fit to start the season.
  7. Rye House benefited in 2007. Fourth in the table at the cut off, but finishing fifth after Birmingham won their final fixture. Won the play off demolishing Sheffield in the final. What comes around goes around.
  8. Me too. I wanted to watch the Man City v Arsenal game.
  9. What reason would the council have to ban food and drink being taken into the stadium?
  10. Been raining since the parade with no sign of it stopping. Not seen a race for nearly an hour. Either get them out there or call it off Bloody joke. This is the first time it's happened at Sheffield and with no advanced warning. They ain't getting a penny off me after I've entered the stadium
  11. Considering there was nothing riding on the outcome it was pretty competitive. Couldn't see a weak link in the side and it was said that one day the side would come together and hammer someone. Well, it came 5 months too late, but better late than never. Jason Garrity made a huge difference, love watching him ride and what a character. On the way to becoming a Rye House legend. Happy to see Simon Lambert in the points at last, but he still looks uncomfortable around Rye House with that body frame and awkward style. Anders looking good for a huge 2013, hopefully as a Rocket. Even Jason Bunyan has found some form at last. Kasper still slow off the gate, but a couple of hard rides put him in the points. Jason Doyle is always a welcome guest at Hoddesdon, never disappoints. I too heard rumours of Kevin Doolan at Rye House next year. Would be an excellent second heat leader and in my opinion the perfect man to replace Neathy as team captain. We still need a number one though. I thought the track was excellent, the best I've seen it this year. Couldn't fail to notice Marcus Helfer taking a ride down the old dog track after going under the 4th bend fence. Very dangerous!
  12. Spinny will be wearing his flip flops today looking at all the rain. Currently south of Luton and its hammering down!
  13. Very poor excuse. Been for the last 3 years and never had a problem being served or finding a seat for lunch.
  14. Oh, I agree. 2007 didn't feel the same as 2005 when we won it on merit. Rather like a rider who goes unbeaten into a final and loses out to someone who sneaks in, there's always a sense of injustice Fingers crossed justice prevails in this case.
  15. Sorry to rain on your parade dear boy, but unless you win the play offs then your name won't be appearing on the trophy. We nicked it off Kings Lynn in 2007, not even finishing in the top four!
  16. How ironic that Barker scores a "paid" maximum when there's little chance of him seeing the money! If there's any justice then Newcastle will win the play offs. They'd be pretty gutted not to after coming top of the pile. Having Nedermark at reserve for the last month or so has helped them enormously.
  17. Well, thanks Plymouth getting beat by Newcastle tonight we've avoided the wooden spoon... Happy days!!!!
  18. Not really a great example... Anyone can have an off night, even a world champion.
  19. Talking of pie & mash and mouthfulls... New season starts tomorrow http://www.pie-n-mash.com/
  20. For me it's another reason to avoid crap Saturday night television
  21. Agreed that it's a nothing competition, but at least it would mean another couple of weeks of speedway at Rye House for me before the long winter. I'm kind of hoping Plymouth win tonight, just to make tomorrow more exciting. Not sure I share your confidence though. There's still the problem of Simon Lambert's inability to work out the Rye House track, Kasper's inability to gate and where in the line up to put Bunyan? Dilger showed a liking to the track when he came with Redcar and Doolan looks to have found some form. I reckon it'll be close, too close to call.
