  1. Anders Mellgren complaining about his poor machinery on Twitter. Seems to be having more problems than most with his bikes this year.
  2. Anyone actually go? Any good? What was the crowd level?
  3. You'd lose your money then. The main TV will be showing the GP. There are TV's in 4 other rooms if they want to watch all that guff the brain dead seem to enjoy these days.
  4. Joking apart, I do miss the rivalry between the 2 clubs. Would be a boost if Mildenhall moved back up to the PL. Some great rivalry there. Don't give him any ideas!!!
  5. Disappointed. I thought it was proper chilli like the Yanks have on their dogs at their sports stadiums. Never watched Strictly in my life and not about to start now!!
  6. Gotta say that chilli dog you were eating on Saturday looked bloomin ansome Bolly
  7. Not me. My kids are up for the weekend and neither fancy the prospect of a cold evening at the speedway. Torun GP on the old nervo and an Andy McNab on Saturday evening.
  8. Sources at Berwick say Ricky Ashworth is out for the season. Craig Cook I'm almost certain is too, injured at Scunthorpe on Sunday.
  9. Jason Garrity gets some bad press, but you can't fault his enthusiasm and tenacity. He's come on loads this year, developing into a cracking rider and has matured greatly. Very entertaining to watch and the kind of speedway rider who people will turn up to watch. Leicester fans may not like him, but Rockets fans think he's the mutts nuts. We're very lucky to have him.
  10. National League at Berwick, are young serious? Never in a million years!!
  11. My first game was 1970. My uncle bought a ticket for East upper from a tout, bunged the turnstile operator ten bob and got my brother and me in where we sat on each knee. Spent almost the entire game watching the trains go by on the East coast main line!
  12. The first time I paid for my own admission to Highbury it cost me 70p
  13. Can't take that away from him. Six excellent gates was enough on the night. I feel Jason Garrity was caught out once or twice at the start, especially in the run off with the speed the ref let the tapes go up. Can anyone shed any light on why the referee wouldn't allow the riders to inspect the start gates during the delays?
  14. Looked around 700-800 tops, which ain't bad for a NL meeting I s'pose, but I expected more. I'm not a fan of individual meetings either, especially at the lower end of the scale. Too many fallers and delays for my liking. They even had to call the ambulance out because one of the track staff collapsed on the centre green with a dodgy knee!! Unfortunately unable to make Rico's meeting. Sounds like it was a great night.
  15. B4e mentioned Birks before the meeting, but I didn't see him as a real threat. Well, can't argue with the result. Along with Garrity and Irvine the only class on show. The meeting dragged on too long for my liking with various fallers on a track that didn't look at all difficult. Surprise of the night was Stefan Nielsen who was well off the pace apart from his last ride Disappointed not to see more travelling supporters, especially from Mildenhall. Atmosphere was pretty flat, as has been the norm at Rye House this year.
  16. Wasn't overly impressive for Stoke last week. I don't rate his chances. Not able to string 4 or 5 good rides together
  17. Garrity, Nielsen, Morris and Perry. The winner will come from those four.. None of the others stands a chance.
