  1. A new website is currently being constructed, but as for Nelson's visa.....
  2. Booked the day off work as soon as I'd heard the date announced. It's irrelevant who's riding, such a great cause needs supporting. East Coast Trains are taking the p*ss asking £125 return for each of us . Looks like we're driving up!
  3. Stead would have to drop 3 points off his average for that to happen
  4. I was convinced that Kling was Rye House bound, but when you think about it someone is gonna have to make way when Luke Bowen is fit to return mid season. Can't see Silver ditching any of his assets or Olly Allen, but Simon Lambert fits the bill perfectly.
  5. He did a good job hiding that shiner behind those massive shades at the 2011 press and practice. He will find a tag a little more difficult to conceal
  6. Two pieces of good news. He's alive and not in jail
  7. Cheers Bolly I see that Nelson is still waiting for a visa. I hope there's a cut off date for his arrival in the UK, so we don't have to go through that whole charade in 2013.
  8. Can't find it. Do you have the link please Bolly?
  9. Hope they put out the strongest line up they can, not go down the Raiders route of too many inexperienced riders. You need to keep a good number coming through the turnstiles after the novelty has worn off.
  10. I don't know if you're old enough to remember the latter half of the 1985 season when we signed Julian Parr from Scunthorpe to replace the injured Rob Woffinden. Parr averaged over 9 points during the last handful of league meetings and looked a real star in the making. Unfortunately the 1986 season saw him average around half that
  11. Ricky Kling signs for Plymouth. I had a hunch we'd sign him on that handy average. Either he didn't fancy us, he was asking for too much, or Silver reckons Simon Lambert is the better option
  12. Not surprised. Silver's article in the Mercury slagging off some of his own supporters had several errors. I stop short of saying lies, because I'm giving the old boy the benefit of the doubt due to his advancing years. You'd have thought that a promoter would be trying his hardest to attract new and lapsed supporters to Hoddesdon instead of alienating the hardcore fans that remain.
  13. Crowds have halved in 4 years. Can't be all down to the economy.
  14. What really gets me is Silver's statement that he doesn't look at averages when building a team. Really? So Simon Lambert was one of the best seven riders available? Do me a favour! Garrity starting at reserve was a must, but they even cocked that up!
  15. It's more dangerous to cycle through London in the rush hour. That's their choice too
  16. How many times have I read posts like this? Nobody forces them to race, they do it out of choice. Pinstripe is spot on
