  1. Boxall only has one bike. Shouldn't even consider racing in the PL unless you have at least two... Is Olly not fit to race at the weekend? I heard he had a crash on Sunday and was gonna have physio.
  2. The National League is so diverse. Last year we had Adam Roynon beating GP riders in the EL, then the next day up against 15 year old novices. The young Sittingbourne number 7 Adam Kirby fell a couple of times as he was passed yesterday. I swear the rider passing never touched him. He just panicked and fell off. Not to say he won't develop into a decent rider. I'm not really a fan of the NL for the reasons I stated. The meetings are more often than not long drawn out with falls a plenty. Saying that, there's nothing better than seeing a youngster develop from novice to top rider.
  3. If it's rained off send the bill to God. I may submit a bill for my expenses when attended a meeting at Sheffield last year, called off 30 minutes from the start, even though it'd been raining up there for most of the afternoon
  4. Something going on in the local area that requires use of the car park at a guess?
  5. That's a contentious one. I suspect he's spent most if not all of his life in the UK, so is technically British, as I am having both parents born in Cyprus, but lived here all my life. I've no argument with him appearing for the US "Dream Team". It's just a shame they couldn't have brought over 7 Americans, but as I've stated on another thread it was more than likely financial constraints that prevented that.
  6. No Nelson for this, on international duty. Who the hell is available on a 5.52 point average that will score what he could? http://www.ryehouser....php?extend.563 Expect another early rain off http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2646807
  7. Nah.... http://wwosbackup.pr...play&thread=702 Has an American father Let's split the difference and say 2 and a half?
  8. Interesting quote from Steve Boxall (second paragraph from the bottom) http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk/home/gallery_fans_flock_to_sittingbourne_for_kent_kings_opening_race_1_2182587
  9. Yeah, it said so in the programme. Only two genuine Americans on show yesterday which was a shame.
  10. It's National League. Wad'ya expect? You're probably too young to remember, but you were there once. Never forget where you came from.
  11. Impresed with the set up. I'm sure the minor gripes will be sorted. Disappointed I can't make the regular Monday night's. Best of luck
  12. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=kt13&action=display&thread=12180 There's a link on there to the Twitter heat details
  13. After half a dozen heats of the GP I knew I'd made a mistake not going to the Rye meeting.
  14. Huge crowd, approaching 3,000 I'd say. Great weather, marvellous stadium, but they will struggle to complete many 15 heat meetings with an 8.30pm curfew. Garrity was a class apart, but Boxall kept him on his toes. Heat 13 was a cracker until Boxalls chain snapped enterIng the last lap. Liked the look of young Sims, but who was the fat kid at 6 for the Yanks? If anyone says to me "if you think you can do better...", I probably could! Kings have shot themselves in the foot with the line up. Coles should be at reserve. Very weak looking side Boxall and Morley excepted. Couple of gripes: nothing to dry your hands on in the bogs and no PA on 1st bend. Best of luck for the season ahead.
  15. Spot on. I love my visits to Berwick and the people are great, but boy, do they take their speedway seriously! If Berwick lose at home it's like someone's died in our house.
  16. Pefectly possible. He was 12 when Fleetwood finally closed for speedway
  17. I'm sure there will be adequate replacements. There are plenty of Southern based NL lads looking for a ride this early in the season with them starting later than the EL/PL riders. There are no other NL meetings taking place tomorrow and as it's a Bank Holiday work commitments shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  18. Not the greatest spectacle potentially for a much publicised first meeting, but I'm sure the Kent promotion weren't to know that the US team would be so weak when they were booked. There are probably better riders left back at home who couldn't afford the time and money to travel over, which is a shame. I've not seen the incidents in question, but it seems from updates to be the two injured lads being up to speed, but not used to the tricky tracks at Buxton and Rye. The more inexperienced American riders were out of contention and stayed out of trouble. I'll still be there to support this new venture.
  19. What's happened to Henning Bager? Saw him at Rye House where he struggled.
  20. I told you I wasn't an expert! I've only been to around a dozen or so meetings since my "debut" in 2005, but even I've noticed how passing has become more and more infrequent in recent years. The races seem much more spread out now. Whether it's the track or the quality of the riders I can't say. Berwick are certainly missing Lee Complin.
