  1. Nobody I spoke to rated Edinburgh below top 3 when the season started. Look nailed on PL winners now.
  2. What a pathetic response... I'm entitled to spend my time and money anyway I wish. My "missus" was very happy to spend the evening at home with a lovely cooked meal I prepared from scratch while watching the GP... What you do with your spare time is your business. I wouldn't dream of telling you that you're a pric*k, just cos I disagree with something you've said or done. I'm not an expert, 99% of the posters on here aren't... I've been going to speedway since 1985, including a fair few meetings at the lower level. I haven't got the time to follow all levels of speedway thesedays, nor would I want to. I'm very happy with attending 50 odd mainly PL speedway meetings a season thanks very much.
  3. I think I read that Silver was blaming Damian Koppe for the crash. From where I was standing on the first bend I can't see how blame can be attached to either rider.
  4. Joel Parsons was in the pits at Sheffield on Thursday
  5. Are you serious? *edit* B4E just told me you're not!
  6. Good point. Got some breathing space at least
  7. Agree with you about those two. Should have really progressed by now and not falling off so often
  8. 38 races of wobbling juniors... What do you think? Only friends and relatives of those involved, plus blokes who just wanna get away from the missus for the evening will be there. Can't imagine why anyone else would be, especially with a GP on TV
  9. The problem is finding someone good enough who is willing to race for 6 to 8 weeks until Jason is hopefully ready to return. I suspect they'll rush Jason Bunyan back and use rider replacement.
  10. Not surprised at Silver's treatment of David. Anyone who has read his press relaeases know Silver lies through his teeth. The local Herts Mercury print anything he says, so they can gain access to the team. I still have the clipping from his attack on me, lies in that too.The rag wouldn't even give me a right to reply. Safe to say he's gone way down in my estimation, even more now he's basically knifed David in the back.
  11. I think we wanted to sign him a while back, but he cited the distance from his Barrow home as the reason for not coming. Saying that, Leicester is only 90 minutes north of Hoddesdon... A lot would depend on whether he would fit wthin the budget.
  12. Something like Jason Doyle as a temporary replacement for Steve Boxall?
  13. Isn't that if they redeclare the side? Whoever it is would have to make way when Jason returns. Also depends on how much is left in the budget
  14. Silver is very loyal to his riders. Can't see that happening
  15. Could've been worse I s'pose. I'm told a Clean break is the best case scenario, no pin or rod needed. Because of Jasons age it should heal quickly and I've a feeling he'll be itching to get back on the bike. Does leave the Rockets a real problem and probably puts paid to any chance we had of gaining some sliverware this year.
  16. So, what next?... http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Sport/Speedway/Jason-Garrity-injury-latest-from-Rockets-promoter-20130517163933.htm

  18. 2 mini fillet burgers & small beans from KFC over the road from the stadium
  19. After missing the home leg there was no way I was missing this. On the way up I was driving through heavy rain, just a few miles outside Sheffield, but from the M1 I could see Sheffield itself was bathed in sunshine. Despite a few sprinkles it remained relatively dry, until it began to rain lightly half way during the meeting, which the track soaked up well. There was never really any doubt of the outcome in my mind after Olly Allen scorched to what I was told was the fastest time at Owlerton this year in heat 1. I wasn't lording it amongst my Sheffield supporting mates on the first bend though, remembering what happened to Berwick at Redcar earlier this season. Jason's crash was horrible. Reminded me of Robbo's at MIldenhall which shattered his pelvis a few years back. When you saw the speed in which he went in and the state of the front wheel of his bike, almost bent over double, you knew it was gonna be a bad outcome. Took the gloss of a tremendous away win, the first time I've seen the Rockets get anything at Sheffield in the dozen or so times I've been to support them there. I was pleasantly surprised to see Simon Lambert in the pits pre meeting. You could see he was still feeling his ankle as he hopped off the track after his heat 2 fall. Not surprised to see him pull up a couple of times when well adrfit. The same could be said for Richard Hall who looked to be suffering as the meeting went on. Every Rocket rode their heart out. You could see they really wanted it. Would be harsh to single out any of them for special praise. They all contributed in some way. The racing wasn't great, with a few notable exceptions. Garrity chasing hard after Hall in heat 4. Nelson stalking Albin in heat 8 before getting round him on the last lap. Albin and Anders Mellgren passing and repassing in heat 10, and Nelson again getting under Koppe after missing the start in heat 11. There is no doubt though, Sheffield, on this performance, are a terrible side. Even including Simon Stead wouldn't have made much difference. With Garrity available throughout we'd have won by double figures. Great result, but at a very heavy price.
  20. Instant heat results from tonight's meeting on my Twitter account @shadders5
  21. Just arrived at the track. Rain is falling steadily, but not heavy. Bits of blue sky, but some dark clouds that look like they are about to dump a load on us. Hopefully they'll pass over and dump on someone else. *edit @ 18:45* Been told it absolutely chucked it down just north of us. Looks pretty dismal in that direction, but a little brighter to the south. Rain has all but stopped here. *edit @ 19:05 No rain for almost half an hour. Still dark clouds to the north over Hillsborough, but brighter to the south.
