  1. I thought the racing was pretty decent. Most of the heats were closely contested. Bunyans pass of both home riders in heat 4 was my personal highlight. I really fail to see how some people could moan about the level of entertainment served up last night.
  2. Never seen stocks at Ipswich, but I'll hazard a guess the crowds are much larger that for speedway. I've attended Arena Essex for bangers/stocks in the past and the crowds are huge.
  3. That should've been done pre season Keith, especially with over 2 points to play with.
  4. Oh crap, I'm gonna miss this as I'll be watching the Rockets at Berwick... Marvellous!!
  5. Pretty obvious where the problems lie at Rye House. Two duff reserves is not gonna win you anything. One of them has to go. I know where my vote is going! Nelson seriously needs to sort the mechanical side out. He was going backwards all night, not through lack of effort. You simply cannot be your own mechanic in professional speedway, no way. Can't blame recent performances on injuries alone.
  6. Where do I start with this?... About to claw it back to 4 points down, when Grajczonek's bike went bang. It was all downhill from there. If you put your hand over the riders scores from 4-7 in the programme and showed it to someone who didn't know the score they'd think it was an away win, or at worst a point, but 7 points from 13 rides from the bottom 3 ain't gonna win you diddly squat. Clearly Nelson has problems with his set up. He was giving it the full beans, but going backwards. Going on Facebook looking for a mechanic hours before a meeting and ending up spannering for yourself is pretty poor. Even Anders Mellgren was looking around for a mechanic for most of the day. He can be pleased with his nights efforts, apart from the last place off the graveyard that is gate 4 in heat 12. Grajczonek did as good a job as you could want from a guest away from home. I heard that Lewis Bridger was approached, but was asking for more than Silver was willing to pay. Wouldn't have made much difference with 3 of the riders misfiring. Boy do we miss Jason Garrity, he can't come back quickly enough! You can get away with carrying a reserve for so long, but two? Impossible. Simon Lambert is clearly not the answer. He looked like a dead man walking in the pits before the meeting, the face said it all. I'm all for being loyal to riders, but for fu*ks sake, enough is enough! Yet again another carrot crunching moron cheering when an away rider falls, this time I avoided a confrontation. Couldn't be arsed. Next two meetings are Newcastle and Somerset at home... Gawd 'elp us!
  7. I'm pretty much commited to making the journey, unless it's called of before I leave at around 4.30pm. Already given up my afternoon overtime, nothing much on TV and I've fueled the car in readiness. I'd hate to stay home "just in case", and find I've missed a cracker. The perils of being a dedicated fan *sigh* Even worse when they use the local rag to "name and shame" particular supporters with lies and half truths
  8. Recently, when I've been to Foxhall , the outside gates have been rubbish. He'll be off 3 or 4 against Grajczonek and Bunyan. If it was Olly Allen inside him on the gates I'd favour Allen, but tonight?
  9. BBC weather has light rain from around noon to 4ish, so a marked improvement on yesterday's prediction. Still touch and go though.
  10. I'd already given up my Thursday afternoon overtime too... Bugger!!!
  11. I'll wait until about 5pm before setting off from North London. Even with traffic I should be there by 7.15
  12. I can sympathise with the Workington fans that travelled down, because I've had a similar situation myself a couple of years back. A 325 mile drive to Berwick for a rain off when the Bandits had a weakened side due to injury and other riders not being available. There was some rain, but by 7pm the sun was blazing down out of a near cloudless sky. I went to the track, scaled a wall and took photo's of the track, which looked wet, but no worse than some I've seen at Berwick in the past. Definitely not as wet as the track at Somerset tonight looking at the photo's.
  13. I'd swop the Aussie Ipswich forecast for our own, wouldn't you?
  14. Since when have the fans considerations been taken into account by the powers that be?
  15. Not out of date, but from the other side of the world. Ipswich, Australia!!
  16. Nelson is in shocking form lately. All can take a r/r ride
  17. Don't know why people pay those ridiculous food and drink prices inside the stadium when there are so many eating and drinking places all ove the city centre. Drink before going in, eat and drink after.
  18. Despite my side not being involved I'll be attending to lend support to my Berwick friends. Can't see them repeating last years heoics, but should be a good day nevertheless. It's only 75 minutes drive up the A1 for us, so what the hell!
