  1. Here is the article from the Devils website... http://www.plymouthd.../article-1.html Here are the latest Danish speedway results... http://speedwayresul...Speedway League This is the only match I can see that ran on 3rd July... http://speedwayresul...781&season=2013 Can't see his name there, unless he races in Denmark under an alias! The only Mikkel Bech I can find has "Jensen" at the end and he rides for Esbjerg, who haven't had a meeting since June 26th prior to last Friday. Interestingly, Mikkel Bech stared following my Twitter updates during the meeting last Friday!! I had a conversation with Dick Barrie during the Plymouth v Berwick meeting. He told me that a medical certificate has to be produced within 48 hours for a missing rider. I presume if this isn't produced within the required time the rider replacement points are taken away and the match scores amended... Berhaps Mikkel Bech's dad is a doctor?
  2. I didn't wanna argue with him. He was rather irate as I'd posted a week earlier criticising the track prep, which he'd taken exception to, seeking me out to berate me in the Tempstand.
  3. These rolling averages have me baffled. Don't understand them at all. Over complicated system due to some teams taking the pi$$ probably
  4. Probably the most important match of the season for us. If we don't keep it close the season could be over
  5. I was told by a member of the track staff (more of a lecture really) that it helps to slow a rider down if they should come a cropper on the first bend. Didn't believe it then, and still don't believe it now
  6. He was off the tricky gate 4 in his first race, so was handicapped from the start, especially not knowing the track. Looked impressive in the three heats he won, but missed the gate in ht 13 off gate 1 and trailed in last. Beat Lemon twice, in heat 11 literally flying past him on the back straight on the penultimate lap. He's not in the Cook/Robson class, there aren't many of those around, but if it means a settled team I'd give him a go if he's available. The only other option is the lottery of guest bookings which can be hit or miss, as we've seen recently
  7. Nicolai Klindt released by Peterborough
  8. I reckon the viewing figures for the Celtic match will top the speedway figures by a considerable amount
  9. In the present 1-7. What about if they made another change?
  10. In my experience the queues at the Showground food outlets are huge. Even during the racing there will be a 10 minute wait at least. Why pay a fortune to watch the speedway, then miss the action? Best buy before the meeting starts, or take food in with you. Hopefully they won't stop anyone entering with food and drink like they did at the PLRC last year at Sheffield.
  11. I knew what you meant, didn't mean to come over as a smart ar$e I doubt the authorities would allow it, even if it makes sense
  12. Surely not eligable for the NL now? Enjoyable meeting. The track held up well despite the warm conditions. No letting up from either side, they really went for it. Sad to see Adam Roynon struggle. Looked tentative going into the bends and a shadow of his former self. He improved as the meeting went on and was unlucky to slip off giving it a blast round the outside of Grajczonek in heat 10. I hope he can get back to something like the form he was in before his latest injury. Nice to have a Rye meeting run smoothly with no major incidents for a change
  13. Rye House averages in all 8 PL meetings: Garrity 10.37, Allen 8.36, Mellgren 8.00. Bunyan 6.13, Aspgren 6.00, Nelson 5.05, Lykke 4.43, Lambert 3.53 Guests and r/r for Allen and Garrity have averaged 6.46 & 5.93 respectively. You can't afford to lose your top 2 riders as well as carry both reserves. There is our season so far in a nutshell.
  14. News on the Rye website that Josh Grajczonek has been booked to guest for the next 3 meetings, at Redcar & Scunthorpe and home to Edinburgh. For the record this year Josh scored 3+1 from 4 rides at Redcar & 10 from 5 (including an ef when in 2nd place) at Scunthorpe. At this rate he'd have appeared more times for the Rockets than Olly Allen by the end of the season!
  15. That's a shame, love watching Doyle race. Still a very promising line up though. Should be a decent crowd, weather is superb. Let's hope the track lives up the occasion.
  16. Much better racing than the previous week v Berwick. I thought we were gonna go down to a nasty defeat until the 1-8 in heat 10 put us back into contention. Credit to the track staff who produced a fine surface after such a warm, sunny day. Rockets deserved the point, but could've been more if the reserves had contributed. Kasper looked a different rider from the one who'd guest for Berwick last week. Decent guest in Klindt, who either won with ease, or struggled at the back, but did the business when it mattered. Aspgren looks like he could be a decent temporary signing. The way he fought back against North in heat 13 when he was elbowed out of the way showed guts and determination. Anders was superb, only dropping a point when he went too wide off the tricky outside gate and clipped the fence coming out of bend 2 in heat 12. Jason B was unlucky not to be nominated in heat 15, but in the end the right decision as the Rockets powered to a 5-1 in the final heat at the second time of asking. Nasty looking spill for Gathercole, hope he's ok. Dislocated shoulder was what I heard. Nelson had one of those evenings, started poorly, but finished strong. Lambert was making gates and was on a 5-1 with Jason B in heat 8 before going off line and falling back. Reserve position is still a big worry though. Needs sorting, especially if one or two of the top five are misfiring. Had a nice friendly welcome from the lady on the gate and the Speedway Star seller just inside the entrance. Good banter with Devils fans by the start gate too. Plymouth fans must be amongst the friendliest in the country. Even Neville the Devil came over for a chat, thankfully unharmed after Dick Barrie beat him up last week. Very long drive home for the second week running and 3 hours sleep before work this morning, but it was worth it.
  17. From Devils website Mikkel 'B' sustained an injury last evening while racing in Denmark, therefore will not be available for Plymouth tomorrow when they face Rye House Rockets in Premier League action. The Devils will instead use the Rider Replacement facility. Plymouth Co Promoter Ashley Taylor says "Mikkel feels he should be well enough in a few days after some rest and cold baths, he will be back with us next Friday in time for the visit of the Ipswich Witches".
  18. Can't claim to that. Rye House's number one moaner according to Silver!!
  19. This has become a little bit lost in this section Cracking line up. Should be a decent meeting http://www.ryehouserockets.co/news.php?extend.622
  20. Glutton for punishment Simmo, or maybe a masochist
