  1. What's all this nonsense about Jason G returning in 2 weeks? The kid was hobbling around on crutches at Sheffield on Thursday. Now I'm no doctor, in fact I've had no medical training whatsoever, but that sounds a little overly optimistic don't you think? One stand out ride against Bager tonight when he stuck it in on bend one half way through heat 12 when previously he would've backed off
  2. He does indeed Updates from both meetings (if my iPhone battery lasts) https://twitter.com/Shadders5
  3. If you're spending a fortune in fuel to travel down, £4 for 15 extra heats is a no brainer.
  4. I don't remember that happening the last time we had a PL double header... They announced that they'd be letting people in for the second half at Sheffield last night, but I must've missed the bit about reduced admission. Fair deal. Bit unfair on the Glasgow fans though. Are Koppe and Haines still unfitfor tomorrow?
  5. Ten last places didn't help I saw Silver and John Sampford in Starbucks at Woodall Services on the way home, but by the time I'd ordered and recieved my coffee they'd left Taking the pis$ a little bit
  6. Not even close Nope! Sweet chilli chicken wrap and mushy peas... You're not very good at this are you Just home and still buzzing... Waited years for a win at Sheffield, witnessing some terrible humiliations along the way, then get two wins there in one season! Not the Sheffield side of old, but who cares? A win's a win. I'll take that all day, thanks very much Even on the last lap of heat 15 I was still inventing ways we could mess this up, remembering Scunthorpe last Friday, but this time Nelson held the line and his nerve to see off Adam Roynon. In any case Richard Lawson was nowhere near Anders Mellgren, so a 3-3 would've been enough. Sheffield did have some bad luck. Roynon falling when destined for the win in heat 4 and Andre Compton's bike giving up on him when on a 5-1 with Albin. Good to see Nelson banging in the points with a classy performance. Jason Bunyan put in a superb effort for his paid 10. I had him down for heat 15, but Anders put in a decent effort despite looking slower than expected for most of the meeting. Good points from both reserves with at least one win apiece, Kaspers coming with a neat inside pass on the 4th bend after Sarjeant drifted a little wide. Josh Grajzonek and Pontus Aspgren didn't have the best of meetings, but every point counts and theirs were vital. I'll let the Sheffield fans comment on their teams performance, but just to say happy to see Adam Roynon looking like the rider he was before his latest injury. I was tempted by the blackjack tables at Napoleans casino next door after the meeting, but as I was dressed in shorts and sandals and have a 5am alarm for work in the morning thought better of it.
  7. Fancy a Rubens at Katz http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8c/Katz%27s_Deli_-_Lunch.jpg Garjulo burger (dipped) at Brennan & Carrs http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4101/4961013596_7915b1c1ab_z.jpg Chicken and waffles is a must, but we're going to Sylvia's for those http://spoonandshutter.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/sylvias2-7-10_0121.jpg Ribs we're having at Dinosuar BBQ in West Harlem, maybe the pulled pork, or perhaps both http://www.restaurantgirl.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/dinosaur-bbq.jpg
  8. I was gonna go KFC over the road, but that chicken wrap I had at Owlerton last time was good
  9. http://www.ryehouser....php?extend.639 Marathon meeting.. Leave a note for the milkman... Bring your sleeping bags. Note the earlier start time Ran out of fish at the chip bar quarter of an hour before the start the other week, so get in early! Ice cream van behind the 4th bend would be nice If anyone has a spare ambulance knocking around that'd be handy Enjoy!
  10. Klindt did pretty well guesting for us at Plymouth a couple of weeks ago. Three heat wins, including a vital 5-1 with Anders Mellgren in heat 15. He's also guesting for the Rockets on Saturday in the Glasgow/Sheffield double header
  11. Up for my third visit to Sheffield this year. No problems with the weather, gonna be a scorcher... Rockets have Grajczonek guesting for Allen and Ben Hopwood guesting at reserve. Not aware who's guest at number one for Sheffield
  12. Guest news for the week ahead.....http://www.ryehouserockets.co/news.php?extend.638
  13. Wrong bloke. Not even the same nationality!!
  14. Wouldn't expect anything else I suspect some price raising went on. More fool the mugs who paid those prices. I was happy with the 5 bottles of beer I brought in
  15. Looks good, unlike his points tally for Rye House... Nice moustache though... He should've stuck with his pop career
  16. We brought a couple of cool boxes full of beers, food and water to avoid the sky high prices
  17. Most of my digs at Ronnie are tongue in cheek. Perhaps I'm looking through rose tinted spectacles, but I know for a fact he lost a packet promoting Rye House. Some of his signings were baffling, but don't forget he put his neck on the block to bring Jens Rasmussen to Rye House and one of the most exciting and dangerous riders I've ever seen in Martin Goodwin. He had some let downs too. Roger Johns came in from Wimbledon on a near 8 point average and then proceeded to stink the place out... Mel Taylor was one of the best riders in the National League when he came over from MIldenhall with Barry Klatt, but he failed to live up to expectations. Injuries didn't help either. I remember Trevor O'Brien, an earlier version of Tyson Nelson, who bust his thigh when he was looking very good.
  18. A bit? I'm always back the next week though
  19. This past week or so, I've been to see the Rockets at Plymouth, Redcar & Scunthorpe, spending hundreds of my hard earned, without a hint of trouble. I'm sure all the lovely people I meet at away tracks will testify to my character. If you saw one of your riders writhing in agony after a horrendous crash and saw someone attempting to take a photograph how would you react? . I'm a proper speedway fan, not a know it all, bitter has been old whinge bag.
  20. Glad to see he's still going to Rye and isn't as bitter as some
  21. She usually takes her knitting up to the box with her, so you can imagine she might miss a few things, not to mention dropping a stitch or two. She could've knitted a large jumper in the time it took to run that yesterday
