  1. Jorgensens last visit produced paid 7... We know what Ricky Wells is capable of Times have changed since the days of one bike per rider on the back of a car, plus a track spare. Equipment prices have shot up over the past 20 years or so. Speedway is a very expensive hobby unless you have sponsorship. Young riders trying to make it in what is now no longer a hobby, but a professional sport have it a lot tougher... You can't compare speedway today to that from the "good old days"
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2646807 To sum it up, cloudy, no rain expected, 18-20 Celsius Allen, Bunyan, Mellgren, Nelson, Morley, Lykke, Aspgren Jorgensen, Graversen, Karlsson, Doolan, Nieminen, Edberg, Sarjeant
  3. Heat 7: (Morley, Lykke, Nieminen, Doolan) looks particularly dodgy as does heat 11 (Morely, Lykke, Wells, Graversen). I'd put Nelson at 5 and pair Ben Morely with Mellgren at 4. If Ben has a mare, then Pontus Aspgren can take heat 14 with Kasper Lykke (pronounced Luger in a Danish meeting on Tuesday). Hopefully Ben will repeat his form against Glasgow/Sheffield, bit it's gonna be a lot more difficult for him in the main body of the side.
  4. One if the more sensible rulings from the powers that be. Are they really going to use Ben Morley at number 5?
  5. You know you're struggling when you lose at home to Rye House, not once, but twice in a season!
  6. £80 for a new tyre. Don't park in the part of the car park in front of the admission gates as they triple park there. If you're in the middle row of the three you may be stuck there for a while after the meeting.
  7. Thanks for the link... My first glimpse of Swedish speedway and I must say I'm impressed. Good ride my MJJ there
  8. Yes, I remember you well... Good as gold thanks. Hope you're keeping well BB
  9. Brilliant feed, but hard to follow without graphics and you don't speak Danish... Sounds like they're speaking backwards *edit* Just seen Manchesterpauls link
  10. Still running I see. Some Edinburgh and Workington fans are still defending Cook, which is par for the course. I've no connection with either rider, so have no bias whatsoever. The fact is Cook damaged property belonging to the Stadium owners. That's criminal damage. He's very lucky that he hasn't had another court appearance to add to the unfortunate incident that's been well documented elsewhere. What went on between Cook and Barker has been going on at tracks for years. I once saw Chris Neath put one on Tom P Madsen in a Rye House v Berwick meeting and some scuffles between riders at other times. Criminal damage is another matter though.
  11. I can't remember the last time an enforced mid season signing worked so well for us. Stefan Ekberg perhaps? The general consensus amongst the Rye fans I know is that we'd very much like to see Pontus as a full time Rocket next year.
  12. Len Silver has the same problem. Went bleating to the local rag naming myself and one or two others for some things he'd read on Twitter. Some of what he said was a load of rubbish and inaccurate (I'll stop at saying lies). The rag wouldn't even give me the right to reply. Not the way to treat someone who's spent thousands of their hard earned and travelled thousands of miles following the team home and away for over 25 years
  13. If It hadn't have been such a soaking wet day and we weren't defending a huge lead from the first leg we'd have beaten you then too
  14. Top job Rockets with a weakened side Should've gone to Specsavers
  15. I'd forgotten that he used to be a Tiger before I read this post
  16. Poor start did for us on this occasion. Out scored Workington in the second half of the meeting, but it was too late by then
  17. Of course. Already looking forward to my carvery lunch and a wee swalee (B4E is driving home)
  18. Very pleased for the Bandits and their supporters. B4E tells me the SBF buckets were brimming with cash. Nice one!
  19. Due to circumstances beyond my control (speedway fixtures released after I'd put my annual leave request in) I am unable to attend. In the past I'd have developed some sort of last minute illness that would have kept me off work for a day or two, but they've cottoned on to that and I've received an official warning. I've decided that having a job is more important than speedway on this occasion. Encouraged by the second half of the meeting at Workington, we could keep this interesting if we get off to a decent start.
  20. I'd have been hopeful of a point with our full line up, but r/r for Nelson and an NL guest for Garrity? Do us a favour!! Just hope we put in a good performance and don't crumble.
