My first visit to any Manchester track and now completed a meeting at every speedway track in all three leagues.
My impression of the stadium is very favourable. Excellent viewing from the main stand, but £21 is a bit pricy. For an extra £3 you can have a padded seat!
Upon arrival we were directed to a car park (£3) near the pits bend which was almost full at 6pm. If this is the only car park then that’s inadequate.
My 3 year old son wasn’t keen on the loud engines and had his hands over his ears for the first half of the meeting. One of the stewards must’ve seen this and kindly brought us some ear plugs. A very nice gesture we thought.
On the whole a pretty enjoyable experience despite the score. The track looks fantastic and with better opposition should serve up some cracking racing.
I may pay the extra three quid and sit in the grandstand. We’re staying at the Sportscity Travelodge. It says a £10 minute walk, but as a previous poster says it’s a bit rough we’ll park at the stadium!
I reckon we’ll get hammered. Let’s hope the rain holds off. Forecast doesn’t look great, some showers around.
My first visit to Belle Vue, the only current track in all three leagues I’ve not seen a meeting at. Hope the weather holds.
Any suggestions where to sit/stand, parking, admission etc...
It’s pretty obvious that Matt Ford is playing hard ball with KK. He obviously doesn’t want to strengthen a rival, but probably would at a price. It maybe the valuation that’s the sticking point.
There hasn't been a supporters club at Rye House since Len Silver kicked em out in the late 1990's. The closest we've been to one was the fund raising activities, organised by the Longman family and others for Robbo after his horrendous injuries in 2006 and the many Northern tours organised by them.
