  1. I'm talking about serious life threatening injuries. I've got a lot of time for Adam, PL winner with Rye House and all round good guy from all reports, but I don't want to see him end up in a wheelchair, or worse
  2. Time for Adam Roynon to call it a day before he does himself some serious damage
  3. I should think the same rule would apply whether he was reserve or in the main 1-5
  4. I've seen a close up photograph of part of the track showing a rock sticking out of it... That ain't normal surely?
  5. Pretty sure that Len & John would've checked with the BSPA, so no problems there. I'm still not 100% convinced that Jason will ride Saturday. It's a tough one against Ipswich. They're no mugs
  6. Steve Boxall is much too good for this league. What a wasted talent
  7. I was under the impression that the green sheets were issued once a month and took effect on the 1st day of each month.
  8. Rider safety is paramount. Nor sure whether Tyson Nelson's fall in heat 3 was anything to do with being blinded by the sun. The delay didn't detract from the enjoyment of the meeting, not for me anyway
  9. Agree with you Bolly. Jason at reserve would be a big ask after so long out. The likelihood is that he'd have to take an extra ride to cover Kasper, who's been less than effective, especially away. He'd be better off at 3 or 4 while he settles in and let Pontus take any extra rides, especially if Jason is feeling his injury during a meeting I'm not totally convinced he'll be back this weekend anyway.
  10. Karlsson round Grajczonek on bend 4 lap 1 in heat 15
  11. Probably celebrating taking the extra match point away from Rye House Rye House team manger John Sampford told us that Olly's arm had swelled up overnight, the result of having it bashed into by Jan Graversen in heat 1 when Olly fell... Josh G was asked to guest on Sunday morning if I remember correctly I'm back in a couple of weeks with the Bandits Gemini I was puzzled as to why they waited until Alex had his third ride before withdrawing him from the meeting when it was clear that he was struggling after his first.
  12. I'm always impressed by the friendly welcome from the staff at Leicester Speedway. Even one of the stewards remembered me from last year as we were leaving the stadium. Looks like new people running the food wagon behind the home straight stand, Turkish guys I'm guessing. Very efficient and polite. Nice jacket spud with beans , a welcome change from the usual greasy stuff you find at most tracks.
  13. I saw a family wearing Leicester City shirts troop in just before the start
  14. Well, that shocked a few people. Even I would've been happy with a point. In the end young Josh Bates with his 2 important points made the difference. A very happy Rye House fan
  15. Josh's last visit to Leicester in June... 3, R (at the gate), 6!, 2' = 11+1
  16. There's a lot of if's and but's about the Rockets line up. On the evidence of last night Olly Allen may struggle with his arm. I'm not expecting anything from Josh Bates and the rest, who knows? I'd be very happy with a point, but I think that may be beyond us on this occasion. With a full strength injury free line up I'm sure we could sneak a win. Last night Tyson Nelson was at 3 and Anders Mellgren at 5. Not sure if they're sticking to that tonight There will be instant Twitter updates from 7.30pm for those who can't make it... https://twitter.com/Shadders5
  17. It used to be the norm to stop a race when a kick board was dislodged, but this year that practice seems to have stopped. Noticed it a couple of times at least this year. Only Jason, Pontus and Ben can be pleased with last nights efforts. Olly clearly needs more time to recover and Kasper still losing points through his inability to gate. Off night for Anders, but I'm sure he'll make amends today at Leicester. Interesting to hear announced that Jason G plans a return next week. I'll believe it when I see it. If/when he does return he'll be at reserve. Heard a whisper that next years proposed points limit will be below 40 points. Could leave us in a pretty strong position with the line up I have in mind. Nice to see a decent crowd, swelled by a good Leicester following. Car park was pretty full an hour before the start time.
  18. Do you apply that philosophy to everything? Life's too short to be worrying about stuff like that.
  19. If money is tight then you're probably better off finding another pastime. Unfortunately, those of us with the speedway bug will be there week in week out, home and away Not sure if I'm pleased or not with a couple of points tonight. With an obviously unfit Olly Allen and a NL guest at 4. The Leicester fans on the first bend were extatic to the point of orgasm with their point. Not a lot of passing on a quick track, but enough close races to keep it interesting. A farcical heat 11 swung the meeting Leicester's way, but the referee got all his decisions spot on tonight. Two weeks too late
  20. Car park is full at 5pm, 2 hours before the start time. I've heard that David Bellago was not allowed to practice today
  21. That's the meeting I had the misfortune to be at
  22. The Leicester threads are full of Lions fans moaning about their track
  23. Instant Twitter updates from 7pm https://twitter.com/Shadders5
