  1. You should enjoy your day out. Hope as many travel as possibly can. You never know when the good times will end, so enjoy it while it lasts.
  2. A balls up from start to finish. Jason was telling everyone he'd be "back in a couple of weeks" while still hobbling around on crutches 2 months ago and the fools believed him.
  3. Pretty much as I expected. Started off well enough, but battered out of sight for the last two thirds of the meeting. What a way to end a season. Only surprise was the low turnout. If you can't fill a stadium with an all conquering winning team what can you do? It had crossed my mind that Somerset crowds must be swelled by holidaymakers during the summer months, because there seemed to be more there for the league meeting with Rye earlier in the year. Anyway, our season is over now. Roll on next March
  4. I'll be there, of course, for what is really just a programme filler. Absolutely nothing riding on this. Just hope riders stay safe. If we get pumped at Somerset the mood will be even more flat than usual.
  5. I'll probably be in there drowning my sorrows when we're 25-5 down after heat 5
  6. Is it worth me bringing my big coat? Will it be that cold after sunset?
  7. Oldtimer... I believe I read that tomorrow is the only blank Friday available to Somerset. It's all very well saying there were blank dates earlier in the season, but you've gotta persuade other teams to come down when they may have riders unavailable. I still reckon you'll be too strong for us on the day, home and away Tomorrow isn't ideal for me either, having to cancel an existing commitment to travel down. Lets hope it's worth it.
  8. Seen him a couple of times live this year and he was just as you say.
  9. I noticed that too. I'm sure it must be a mistake on his part. Got his dates wrong hopefully
  10. On Facebook he said he's flying out Saturday, bikes are going ahead earlier. Not sure who's bikes he's using on Friday
  11. Heard a name mentioned for the number 1 spot. Done deal apparently
  12. I reckon you've got it just about spot on No chance of Rye House ever going Elite League. Sittingbourne in the PL is a possibility, but not next year.
  13. I thought he was giving an interview for the 2014 Bandits number 1 place at one stage. He certainly gained some fans amongst the Bandits fans with his racing and after match interview, so much so that many of them were well behind him during the latter stages of the PLRC.
  14. At the home meeting with Berwick Len mentioned the safety fence for next year. Plans already in place and some of the fence has already been purchased, so I guess the answer is yes
  15. Brilliant victory for Olly and very much deserved. Stand out rider on the night as his semi and final proved. Highlight for me was fronting up the Leicester fans, who were giving it large all night with my own "easy easy easy". They and the Bandits fans were brilliant in supporting their riders. Nights like this is what puts speedway above ather sports where the supporters can stand together and exchange friendly (sometimes) banter Great night. A quick one in the bar, then I'm off to the casino, seeing as my luck is in.
  16. One of the better meetings I've seen at Berwick. More passing than I've seen there for a while and just about the right result. Impressed with Olly after a blank first race, deserved the rider of the night award. He said some kind words about the Berwick set up which was nice. Pie & burger was top notch as usual and Dick Barrie was on fine form, mostly aiming his attention at yours truly. Loved seeing Olly Grenwood take care of Barrett in heat 14. Pontus, Tyson & Bunny attacked the track with some success. Enjoyable "afters" in the Black & Gold until well after midnight. Very nice! Heard some good gossip about a certain northern based rider that was particularly interesting. All adds up
  17. You're not suggesting Exeter threw the match are you Eddie? Rockets were high on confidence and had an excellent guest in Shaun Tacey, unbeaten as I recall. It still riles B4E every time I mention it. Still ranks as the best tour I went on and one of the highlights of my 28 years supporting the Rockets.
  18. Not gonna happen. Easy Bandits win The Bandits have been punching above their weight for years. The 2005 season was probably the peak, last years excellent 4's win gave many false hope. Be thankful with what you have. You never know how long it's gonna last. Ask any Newport fan.
