  1. Depends who you speak to in Berwick. In my experience no two people speak with the same accent. Glasgow fans that I know are friendly. Make your way to the bar area and make contact with Paulco. Just about make out what he's saying when he's sober, but after a session, forget it! No point in basing yourself in Edinburgh for a home meeting, Armadale is closer to Glasgow!
  2. So pleased. Love the track and less than an hours drive for me.
  3. At home yes, but away?Last time I saw Kus he wasn't capable of a heat 2 win, never mind heat 15.
  4. Strength in depth is fine, but prepare for some batterings in heat 13 & 15 away from home. Don't know anything about Jensen, I've never heard of him, but from what people are saying he's a bargain on a 5.5 average.
  5. My experience is pretty similar. During my summer visits to IOW the crowd size was pretty healthy, likely to have been boosted by holiday makers.
  6. Safest fence in speedway is at Rye House. Unfortunately there are few tracks that can accommodate a chain link catch fence, most have solid boards. Haven't been to IOW since they left the PL, but the last meeting I attended v Berwick had an attendance of less than 200. I'm not surprised they're struggling to come up with the 20K required, especially as the area needed to be covered by an air fence must be vast on those long sweeping bends.
  7. Dependant on sponsorship according to John Sampford in a recent article on the Rye House website.
  8. Crossed wires. I was talking about Rye House
  9. I was at Exeter that night. Definitely 2005. We won the PL again in 2007 via the play offs.
  10. A wonderful year. The win at Exeter put the seal on it, thanks to an excellent score from guest Shaun Tacey
  11. Could be Razors way of taking pressure off the lad. If he does sign for Berwick he'll need another NL side as Stoke race on Saturdays
  12. Edinburgh seemed to think so when they used him for the PL play off final at Somerset. He won heat 2 in a time almost a second faster than heat 1, second quickest time of the night. I think he's worth a shot at 3 points. I hear there are other sides chasing his signature. It's not a given that he'll be a Bandit in 2014
  13. I disagree with some of you of over Mellgren/Kennett... Anders is a nice guy, but his performances around Rye were very hit and miss. As a number one he'd be a disaster. He performed better at away tracks on the whole, Scunthorpe will suit him better. Edward is a past Rye House track expert. Once he gets dialled in he will be superb. Last years experience at Berwick was puzzling, but his away form for them was eye opening, a 9.71 average in the 3 meetings he had for them at Sheffield, Redcar & Plymouth, three different types of track. If he repeats that for us in 2014, added to a good home average, he could be one of the top three riders in the PL next year.
  14. Somerset are Poole in disguise. If there's a loophole to be found or a rule to be bent they'll find it
  15. Not gonna be threatening the top 4, but top 6 is a distinct possibility. Lots of ifs and buts. Injuries could ruin our season. Personally I can't wait for the season to start.
  16. Are you mad? Stan Laurel was a comedy genius!
  17. Another? How many does he have? Yes, I understand that, but as he has a history of loyalty to his riders I can't see any enforced changes happening. The last rider I can remember being "let go" was Kurt Shields
  18. I'm pretty sure he pays his riders well and they don't have to wait weeks for their wages like at some other clubs
