  1. Who knows? Rumours that he refused to sign his contract at P & P, but relented when he was told that he rides for Rye, or doesn't ride at all. Maybe the terms had changed, maybe he thinks he deserves more. Who knows? Like I said, just rumours. Up to JG himself to come out and say he's happy at Rye (or not). Up until then we can only speculate.
  2. As mentioned by WHB amongst others, Simon Lamberts retention has been a mistake. Nothing against the man, I'm sure he's a lovely bloke. It's been mentioned that he's great around the pits, offering advice and helping out the other riders. That's great for team spirit, but useless when he's not scoring points. I hope he can turn it around and be our match winner tomorrow, but I fear another beating along with a few more this year, home and away.
  3. Don't hold your breath... He beat Starke & Searjeant in heat 9. Apart from that finished ahead of riders that either fell or retired. Based on what I've been told, Garrity doesn't even want to be at the club
  4. Has his father provided the teams race suits?
  5. Oh Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. Can't believe you were taken in. Berwick Speedway is run on a shoestring as it is. If someone really has money to chuck around they'd be far better spending it signing up seven riders that would win you something meaningful.
  6. I admit I haven't tried the fish & chips there for a few years, but from experience in a previous life it doesn't look at all appetising. The batter looks flat and dry. I remember when the fish bar first opened. The product was very good, but over the years the quality seems to have dipped alarmingly.
  7. June 7th last year v Scunthorpe. You finished the season in 10th place
  8. Good result, but racing wasn't up to much. Steve Boxall is as steal on that average very impressive. Kennett unbeatable, with good back up from all bar Lambert who failed to impress. Panthers only scored 4 from Blackbirds RR rides and nothing at all from guest Danny Phillips Very good turn out on a cold evening with nothing at stake. Well over 1,000, Still using whole milk in the tea bar. Not impressed
  9. Any news on who's replacing Blackbird & Jacobs? According to the Rye website Rockets are unchanged. That's not unusual.
  10. Fish & chips from the shop in Kesgrave... Fish was greasy and still had the skin on (must be a Suffolk thing). Peas weren't mushy, so I chucked em. Disappointing
  11. As both teams have had a couple of run outs this challenge meeting isn't going to interest anyone but the die hards. The only advantage will be to give the Rockets some home track time
  12. With Garrity off gate 1 it was a huge blunder. Don't know what he was thinking of
  13. Not what I'd hoped for, but pretty much as I expected. I'd predicted an 8-10 point loss, so spot on in that respect. Result came down to the reserves. Paid 17 against paid 5 in programmed rides. Kennetts bike problems in heat 1 didn't help. Top 3 were good value, but reserves were disappointing, especially Simon Lambert who was frankly awful tonight. On the plus side Jason Garrity looked much better. The stadium has improved The gents toilets on the apex of bends 1 and 2 are much better. Clean and with hot running water and a proper hand drier. I thought the interval after heat 8 was sneaky to allow Risager time to switch engines from one bike to another. Probably won Ipswich the meeting as he came out flying in heat 9
  14. Have you seen their new race suits? Classic example of a rich kid, well backed financially, but without the talent to match
  15. I was gonna set off at 11 for the 350 mile drive down from Berwick, but looking at the forecast I may hang around and go to Redcar with the Bandits hooligans. Mind you, the forecast there doesn't look any better. Hmmmmmmmm
  16. Track was perfectly rideable. I was there and took photos.
  17. My understanding is that the line up will be the same until Jason Bunyan returns to the side, then Steve Boxall will move to the number 2 race jacket
  18. That sounds ideal Not hungry or desperate enough to eat at McDonalds
