  1. It's being broadcast live on Quest, Sky channel 167. Also on free view
  2. A double figure lead at the very least is required. Rockets will be without Matt Tres, who is riding grasstrack, Ben Morley deputising. I assume Stefan Nielsen will take his place at reserve. Glasgow have Andre Compton guesting for the injured Dimitri Berge and James Sarjeant in for Kasper Lykke who is on U21 duty. In previous years this would've been a routine 20 point win, but the way things are going this year I'm not so confident. Track won't hold much moisture in the warm weather, so gating will be even more important. Too close to call *edit* Ben Morley in the main body of the team and Andre Compton at reserve puts a whole new perspective on this match. I can see Glasgow keeping it very close, maybe even sneaking an away win. The misery continues.
  3. Up against Colombia v Greece & Uruguay v Costa Rica as well as the Swedish GP. Interest at Rye House is waining fast, so only die hards and people with little else to do will be in attendance. At least the weather is looking good.
  4. Rockets face Somerset & Ipswich twice in the PL, home and away, so I have the joy of seeing us hammered three times at the OTA
  5. The former I suspect. I'd love to hear from the Redcar promotion as to why they left it until 10 days before the fixture to postpone. Amatuer set up
  6. Agree with some of the comments above. Why wasn't this fixture moved when the football fixtures were known? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the World Cup draw made BEFORE the speedway fixtures were announced? They've had months to rearrange this
  7. British speedway is dying on it's arse. Team changes must be imminent at Redcar. I tried to book the Thursday off to go, but no slots available. Lucky me!!
  8. I appreciate your comments. It's not often we hear anything from the "horses mouth", relying on Chinese whispers that can often be way off the mark. You can imaging the mumblings on the terraces with Steve's previous mechanical problems. Even you have to admit he's not been exactly diligent in maintaining his machinery in the past. Hopefully he can sort whatever problems are plaguing him and get back to scoring big points.
  9. Your bikes are only as good as the effort you put in maintaining them. This is Steve Boxall. You remember the old saying about leopards and spots?
  10. I've noticed that at Plymouth & Somerset this year. The crowd at Somerset for a young exciting team that's demolishing opponents at home was very disappointing. Somerset fans may say that it's outside the holiday season, but I've been there in June before and the crowd levels were much higher than that. Speedway in this country is on the decline, of that there is no doubt.
  11. Most of what you say I agree with Rayleigh, but look what happened at Newport. Threw loads of money at the team and won the KOC, but crowds stayed away and they folded. Sometimes throwing money at it isn't always the right thing to do. My main concern is that he's taken his eye off the ball where signing young talent is concerned. Sure, we have Jason Garrity, but where are the likes of Tai, Danny King, Edward Kennett etc.. They are around, but other sides are signing them
  12. I believe the "experiment", was the result of cost cutting to pay for the air fence. Why else would you dispense with the services of the Swedes and re-sign Simon Lambert? The Nelson debacle didn't help, but in my opinion he would've added nothing to the side as he is too erratic and unprofessional in his attitude. He still needs to grow up before even thinking about attempting a come back. Steve Boxall is still having equipment issues. Where have we seen that before? It's a real shame. A genuine talent, no doubt. Take a look at Paul Starke and Ritchie Hawkins. Couldn't buy a point when they were with us, but now flourishing in teams that are high on confidence with a proper management set up and a professional attitude. Rye House still has the feeling of a nice little day out for Silver and his mates. It's a hobby for him. His "it's my way, or the highway". attitude isn't helping. You all heard him on the mic when the Jason Doyle situation blew up. It's HIS team, he does it HIS way. Well, your way ain't working old boy. Either give us a proper team next year, or don't bother. I don't know how many meetings like last night I can take
  13. Teams used to fear coming to Rye House, they were beaten before a wheel was turned. Now they're rubbing their hands together. I can see more home defeats coming. It ain't gonna be pretty. The rider I feel sorry for is Edward Kennett. The pressure on him to perform must be immense. Everyone who thought replacing Simon Lambert was the answer has had a dose of realism. Doubt whether the result would've been any different had Garrity, Tres & Nielsen been in the side. Ritchie Hawkins did all that was asked and more, Tres ain't really set the place alight and Nielsen hadn't made it past the first bend yet, so who knows. My main concern has been the form of Steve Boxall lately. Obviously riding sub standard machinery, clutch problem I was told, been a problem for a couple of weeks. KO Cup next weekend. The season could be over by Sunday evening.
  14. Without knowing who's available and what the budget is it's hard to say. Most Rye fans know that there's only one rider who's team place is in danger, but he was twiddling his thumbs 320 miles away in the rain soaked borders and can't be blamed for that shambles tonight
  15. Probably our most consistent rider tonight added to his tremendous efforts last week I was hoping that this would be my first season of being an ever present at home meetings. I'm not so sure now. Words can't describe my feelings after watching that. Silver needs to come out and apologise to the supporters, but I won't be holding my breath.
  16. There are other tracks in the South apart from Rye House One has a choice whether to attend or not. Nobody is forcing you
  17. Ooops! When are the FIM gonna stop handing these big meetings to clubs in the rain sodden North? Keep these meetings down South where the climate much more favourable.
  18. Wish i hadn't bothered coming back from Bournemouth today. Embarrassing
  19. Bright and sunny in Hoddesdon. If it was in doubt it'd be off by now.
  20. It's beautiful down here in Bournemouth There's your barometer. If WHB has given up hope things must be REALLY bad!
  21. I was only in the pits for a short while, he must've been in the bar. I'm currently in Bournemouth, the suns out here. Hoping to race back in time for the start.
  22. I'm on the South Coast. Not sure if I'll make it back in time, or even if I want to!!
  23. Didn't see Len Silver at Somerset last night, so he may have been at Rye House flooding the track in case the promised heavy rain doesn't materialise.
