  1. Not the guys fault he's nowhere near PL class. Choices severely limited due to the NL Pairs at Mildenhall I suspect. The real reason we're out is due to Tres's absence.
  2. Doesn't matter if I disagree or not. It ain't gonna happen, especially in his testimonial year.
  3. City Rebel, I may be daft, but I ain't stupid! Not surprised and only mildly disappointed. Season is over in early June. If Silver mentions a surge for the play offs in gonna scream!! Massive gamble on this team has failed big time, now watch crowd levels plummet.
  4. Fair play to you, that's a pig of a journey. Did it for a rain off a couple of years ago. Always a good idea to visit these tracks that always seem to be on the verge of closing. The journey over to the back straight is always a challenge over the crumbling concrete terracing. Nice spicy curry sauce in the Italian chippy opposite, or an Indian chicken kebab from the other shop a few doors away.
  5. Are you serious? Bloody hell, don't tell me you made the journey up there? His PL average must be the same or lower than Dimitri Berge. How is beyond me!
  6. This meeting was yesterday. Just how much did you have to drink last night?
  7. The team have asked for more grip, but the promoter insists on doing it his way. Overheard a couple of members of the track staff after tonight's meeting, deep in conversation about the track prep. Didn't catch all of what they said, but the jist of it seemed to be how THEY Would do it. Len Silver is someone who divides opinion. Sure, it's his team, his stadium, his money, but he's not always right.
  8. Ben Hopwood at 2 and still no confirmation of our number 7. Options limited due to the NL Pairs at MildenhallPijper went down on bend 2 of heat 13, looked up and saw the Rockets on a 5-1, then made a feeble effort to lift his bike. In the rerun you can guess what happened. A home 5-1 turned into a 3-3. Could be vital, but I doubt 14 points wouldn't have been enough. Once yous get a lead I can see us capitulating.
  9. Try that after a Berwick Rangers match and see how far they shove that speedway DVD up your ar$e
  10. It's being broadcast live on Quest, Sky channel 167. Also on free view
  11. A double figure lead at the very least is required. Rockets will be without Matt Tres, who is riding grasstrack, Ben Morley deputising. I assume Stefan Nielsen will take his place at reserve. Glasgow have Andre Compton guesting for the injured Dimitri Berge and James Sarjeant in for Kasper Lykke who is on U21 duty. In previous years this would've been a routine 20 point win, but the way things are going this year I'm not so confident. Track won't hold much moisture in the warm weather, so gating will be even more important. Too close to call *edit* Ben Morley in the main body of the team and Andre Compton at reserve puts a whole new perspective on this match. I can see Glasgow keeping it very close, maybe even sneaking an away win. The misery continues.
  12. Up against Colombia v Greece & Uruguay v Costa Rica as well as the Swedish GP. Interest at Rye House is waining fast, so only die hards and people with little else to do will be in attendance. At least the weather is looking good.
  13. Rockets face Somerset & Ipswich twice in the PL, home and away, so I have the joy of seeing us hammered three times at the OTA
  14. The former I suspect. I'd love to hear from the Redcar promotion as to why they left it until 10 days before the fixture to postpone. Amatuer set up
  15. Agree with some of the comments above. Why wasn't this fixture moved when the football fixtures were known? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the World Cup draw made BEFORE the speedway fixtures were announced? They've had months to rearrange this
  16. British speedway is dying on it's arse. Team changes must be imminent at Redcar. I tried to book the Thursday off to go, but no slots available. Lucky me!!
  17. I appreciate your comments. It's not often we hear anything from the "horses mouth", relying on Chinese whispers that can often be way off the mark. You can imaging the mumblings on the terraces with Steve's previous mechanical problems. Even you have to admit he's not been exactly diligent in maintaining his machinery in the past. Hopefully he can sort whatever problems are plaguing him and get back to scoring big points.
  18. Your bikes are only as good as the effort you put in maintaining them. This is Steve Boxall. You remember the old saying about leopards and spots?
  19. I've noticed that at Plymouth & Somerset this year. The crowd at Somerset for a young exciting team that's demolishing opponents at home was very disappointing. Somerset fans may say that it's outside the holiday season, but I've been there in June before and the crowd levels were much higher than that. Speedway in this country is on the decline, of that there is no doubt.
