I suspect some EL snobbery is involved, but mostly it's money, except many are too proud to say they can't afford it and hide behind "wrong race night" and other excuses.
If you can't attract people to a superb race track like that then the sport really is down the toilet
I was shocked at how low the crowd was, surely nowhere near enough to sustain speedway at Peterborough. Even more disappointing was the Catweasel lookalike outside the first bend bar who cheered and shouted "w*nker" when Alex Edberg fell in heat 6. Gave him a lecture and embarrassed him in front of his friends.
