  1. Not the only reason. There’s simply more on offer these days. There were only 3 TV channels in 1973, now there are hundreds, along with Netflix etc. Many kids would rather stay at home gaming.
  2. You’d need bottomless pockets, be barking mad (or possibly both) to invest in speedway these days.
  3. Another one gone... Always sad to see a speedway club fold. Who’s next?

  5. Should’ve received it by now. I had mine on Xmas eve
  6. One rider attempted to smuggle 7 of his mates into a PLRC at Peterborough a few years back in the back of his van
  7. Something to do on a Saturday night, it’s 2 minutes away and our son enjoys it. Having recently lost the team I’ve supported for 33 years it’s good to get to see speedway on a regular basis.
  8. Hard to disagree. I was at every Bandits home meeting and can only remember a couple of decent meetings where there were multiple passes. Mostly from the gate and well strung out.
  9. I’m resigned to being out on delivery until I’m well into my 60’s. Will be a part time job by then anyway

  11. 2019 Bandits just announced at fans forum Aaron Summers Kevin Doolan Leon Flint Coty Garcia Danny Gappmaier Jye Etheridge Nikolai Busk Jacobsen Gary Flint is team manager
  12. They were bang on form at the time to be fair. Strangely one of Gapps better nights
  13. It baffles me how Danny Gappmaier has managed to maintain his team place. Shouldn’t be anywhere near that side next year
  14. Nope. I remember a double header finishing just before 11pm
  15. I’d say you’re right Taffy. I’ve been to every meeting at Berwick this year and Saturday was by far the best meeting racing wise. Some other meetings have been closer, but dull if you’re a neutral. Maybe the earlier rain helped by giving the track a natural watering, the best kind. I’m no expert, but that was the general consensus.
  16. Cardiff are in the English Premier League, Swansea in the English Championship. Try telling their fans that they’re not Welsh
  17. Probably the most entertaining meeting at Shielfield this year. Reserves superb and must be already pencilled in for next year. Good to see Nikolaj back to something like his best
  18. Maybe my old and befuddled memory, but back in the mid 2000’s when I was up every year for the Rockets Northern tours the racing was better.
  19. No surprise to me. Boxall was like a second son to Silver at Rye. He thought the sun shone out of his a*se. Whenever he needed equipment (often), Uncle Len was there. Promising as a teenager, but thoroughly unprofessional
  20. Always in the hope that I may see that spectacular meeting. I’m an optimist. Also, seeing Aaron & Nikolaj is the closest I can get to seeing my beloved and now departed Rockets
  21. I’ve been to every meeting at Berwick as a neutral this year and I’ve gotta say the entertainment has been poor to say the least. Most of the excitement has been when Chris Harris has missed the gate. When one of the highlights was Buddy the Bandit doing wheelies on a mini bike you know it’s been dull. Apparently 30 tons of shale was deposited on the track this week, but you’d be hard pressed to notice the difference
  22. At least it’s a free car park and not the £4 we were charged last night
