Redcar V Rye House (premier League) 4th September

Still think Edinburgh will be too strong, but it will be close. Nicki Barrett at number 2 could weaken us. -

Terrible choice of guest in Aaron Fox. Couldn't score a point at reserve when Edinburgh were there, so no surprise he scored bugger all at number 2. With a full strength side we'd have taken 3, possibly 4 points last night. We have Edinburgh & Scunthorpe at home as well as an away trip to Peterborough to finish off a dismal campaign. Looks like you're favourites to avoid the wooden spoon. -

Never mind them, that's peed me off too. Was counting on the Comics to take a points at least away with them -

Is the guy who designed that track the same bloke who designed the one at Leicester? -

But for a piss poor guest we'd have won. Hope he rides like that on Saturday. Special mention to Steve who was superb. Why can't he do that every week? Good to see all the team putting the effort in. Award winning pie & peas excellent as was the curry sauce on the chips. Good to meet up with some speedway buddies, Keith, Spud, Tracey & Pat Sharp. Thanks to Bobby for the DVD. Much appreciated. -

Worrying Rye House Rumours
Shadders replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Wouldn't be surprised if this was true. Crowds are lower year upon year with no effort to gain new supporters or get the ones that have given up to come back. This years team at the start of the season said it all. No Scandanavians, so no air fares to pay. Silver is approaching his mid 80's with nobody looking willing to take over the running of the place, not that he'd allow it. He's definitely a hands on owner (I wouldn't use the word promoter. He stopped doing that years ago). 2015 could very well be the last year of speedway at Rye House IF he decides to carry on beyond this dismal season. -

Thoughts On The Pl Season So Far?

Scrap the league cup & start the league campaign in April -
Can't see a thread for this so here goes. Taking a trip up for this as we've only less than a couple weeks until our season is officially done, making it a very long winter. Looking forward to the award winning pie & peas, but no parmo this time as I wanna give my digestive system a break No idea who we have as guest at number 2, but I guess Luke Bowen is riding after taking his place in the Rockets side last night

As far as my team are concerned it's been shocking. Can't see it improving much next year to be honest as Silver looks to have cut costs down to the bare bone with no outside sponsorship coming in and crowd levels dipping alarmingly. -

Thanks to Alex Edberg, good guest for Rye tonight. Nice kevlars

Enjoyed the novelty of two home wins on the trot. Much better from Jason Garrity. Looked quick and determined. Alex Edberg looked a different rider than the one we saw racing for Berwick. A decent guest at last. Peterborough were generally poor. Adam Roynon has his moments, but Richard Hall was awful. Max Dilger was as expected, rubbish. Looking forward to Redcar tomorrow. Heard some stuff at the Peterborough v Berwick meeting last week from a very good source, but was told otherwise from a club insider. Tonight I heard basically the same.

Haven't had to put up with that for a few months
