  1. Pretty much from the gate early on when the track was wet and heavy. Only livened up towards the end with a couple of decent races.
  2. Scunthorpe were fantastic, Berwick had no answer. Looks like the Bandits peaked too early.
  3. If that bloke on the centre green mentions it's Ryan Douglas birthday once more I'm gonna punch his bleedin lights out!!
  4. King or Allen for me. Rockets for the wooden spoon. Kennett will score under 6 points in the PLRC
  5. I shared my 2 litres with a couple of mates Ian. You don't feel it as you're downing it, it's very drinkable. I should've bought more really. No headache in the morning, but a definite feeling of bleeeeergh!!! Lovely stuff though. You're lucky to live so close.
  6. When it first opened it was arguably the best in speedway (Mildenhall fans may argue this), but a couple of years ago they switched from fresh cod fillets to frozen battered and boy does it notice. The queues that used to stretch out of the door have dwindled to nothing. They often sell out of fish & pies before the meeting starts, usually only sausages and chips left. More Rye House cost cutting. I had 24 years experience in the fish & chip trade. All they had to do was ask. My consultancy fees would be minimal. A kind of cut price Gordon Ramsey. Far better choice in the cabin under the refs box.
  7. I wasn't such a frequent visitor in the last season. Just married and a kid on the way, plus my then missus wasn't such a speedway fan. Hard to say which team is worst, but I'm feeling it more now as I'm more of a fan than I was back then.
  8. Can't disagree with any of Westhamboys post. Like a few others I travel all over the country supporting my team, spending a small fortune in the process. To be slagged off by Silver for having the gall to criticise his team selection, track prep and general mishandling of the Rye House Rockets, turning us from the envy of the Premier League to a laughing stock in just a few years is an insult to and all Rockets fans. He banished the supporters club almost as soon as he took over in the late 90's, so where else can we air our grievances and frustrations other than on the inter web? He's really lost touch in what we really want, as the dwindling gates have shown I'd also like to apologise for any immediate post match rantings concerning Edinburgh Speedway. This was borne out of a mixture of frustration, some upsetting news from Berwick (not speedway related) and some very strong Somerset farmhouse cider. What I should've said was, well done to the Monarchs on their win. This is where we should be right now, not battling Sheffield for the wooden spoon.
  9. As much as I love my club and will defend them until I'm blue in the face, I can't defend that crap last night. Easily dispatched a poor Peterborough side on Wednesday, but here's a measure of where we are now. Completely unacceptable.
  10. It's Newport all over again. At least you went out on a high. We've had a slow steady death
  11. Can you return the lifeboat when you've finished with it please
  12. Real eye opener tonight. Edinburgh are where we were 8 or 9 years ago. Now we're a laughing stock, while Silver seems happy to let teams come here and humiliate us. It's obvious the place is being run down for closure.
  13. Think you're right. Their top 4 will be too strong for us
  14. Len Silver doesn't I certainly don't think it's cheating.
  15. Luke Bowens carrying an injury too. Should be a feisty old meeting. Looking forward to it
  16. 3 v 3You're glad to beat anyone these days Oliver at 6, Luke at 7 usually. Edinburgh need shooting if they don't win this comfortably
  17. Just seen how much Edinburgh are charging for next Fridays double header. £27!!!!! You gotta be f***ing joking!!!!
  18. No surprise Somerset playing a crafty old game. Bandits dominating early on, so the Rebels didn't put a drop of water on the track throughout the meeting, turning it into a dust bowl, which suited the home side. That Nick Morris, what a dirty bastard
  19. If he sells the lease on the stadium to the kart track and receives a tidy sum for Garrity?
  20. Redcar were very average. They were there for the taking last night. Opportunity missed.
