They had one last year too. Sadly nothing from the local team

He was taking the mickey out of Kennett a few years back. Every year he targets me. I tried to hide from him in the hospitality box last year, but he spotted me. I don't think it's anything to get excited about. Nobody takes any notice of him do they?

Priority Over Double Up Riders 2015
Shadders replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Edward Kennett in a swop deal with Jason Garrity going to Coventry. No question over who has priority over Kennett now. Can't imagine Lakeside will be pleased -
I'm nicking that!! It's next Saturday (21st)

James Wright was sponsored by Elmside (Luke Bowens uncles company) for years. Had it all over his bike & kevlars.
-
Agree with both of you. No point in holding onto someone who doesn't wanna be there. Full marks to both promotions for getting the deal done quickly, unlike other promotions who spat out the dummy and dragged their heels. Interesting to see if Garrity gets a PL team place.

Celebration Of Speedway: Paradise Park
Shadders replied to Shadders's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It's just turn up and pay the fiver (or more if you want). No coupon needed as far as I know -
Could be a number of reasons. Perhaps Andrew didn't fancy the day to day running of the promotion. The stadium needs a lot of work doing, very costly. Most speedway promotions don't own the stadium they use.

Short of meteorite smashing into the earth, or WWIII being declared yes!

Most Rye fans would admit we don't look like a title winning side, I accept that. All I want to see is the riders wearing the colours giving 100%, both on that track and in the pits. If we're beaten by a better side, then fair enough. Of course I'll have a moan, but that's just how I am. Is that too much to ask?

I can see Andrew taking control of the Rockets in 2016

I was in a pub near Shielfield Park after the Bandits v Rockets meeting last year, with most of the Rockets team. Someone said that Derek Sneddon had just pulled up in the car park, hearing this Garrity rushed outside. Expecting a repeat of the recent Armadale incident I followed him into the car park. Imagine my disappointment when they greeted each other like long lost brothers and walked smiling and laughing into the pub!
-
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt early on as he was recovering from a broken leg, but as Westhamboy mentions in his post, Garrity would be flying for Coventry, then looked like he couldn't be bothered for us. He did pick up a little right at the end of our sorry season, but didn't do enough to endear him to Rockets fans.
-
I was there the day he walked out because the Armadale track was a bit wet.

One of the worst thing a rider can do is cheat the fans by not trying. Garrity is guilty as charged
-
I'd gladly take Kennett for a rider that cheated the Rye fans for most of last year. Now that the Rockets have a new promoter there could be some business to be done
-
Now we know that the EL have priority over double up riders that aren't assets of their PL clubs, Edward will be missing a few Rockets meetings; 10/4 Somerset (a) 4/5 Somerset (h) 25/5 Redcar (h) 30/7 Sheffield (a) 1/8 Newcastle (h) 21/8 Plymouth (a) 31/8 Plymouth (h) Assuming that Edward isn't a Rye asset, in which case the above dates are meaningless!!!

Don't get the big deal about who's captain

Interesting. Press & practice on Saturday 12th March. Press day Monday March 16th

A fully fit and focused Anders could be looking at a 7+ average. I'll take that
