  1. I'm not usually one who moans about missing riders costing us results. I was only countering the Scunny fans post about Ben Morley costing them the win. Speedway isn't football, so unfortunately we won't always have first dibs on our contracted foreign riders. Blimey, we can't even call on Edward when we're away and Lakeside are at home and he's an asset! I'm not surprised to see people turning against Silver snr. I acknowledge he's been great for the sport, but his stubbornness is losing what little support we have left. Sounded like a decent meeting though
  2. Couldn't be there last night, so can't comment on individual performances. Gotta grudgingly agree with Chris. Robins scores have tailed off after a promising start. Haven't seen Dan Greenwood race yet, but he seems out of his depth in the PL.
  3. Just to back up that with some stats Nikolaj is averaging 8.34 at home, RR last night averaged 6. Steve averaging 6.05 at home, Proctor averaged 4.80. Kasper averaging 6.13, Starke averaged 5.60. Pretty clear the Rockets missed the absentees more.
  4. Not having Jakobsen cost us 3 points. Also missing Boxall and Lykke. Count yourself lucky you escaped with a draw
  5. Just a light jacket then. I'll be in the hotel bar trying to keep up with the updates, subject to dodgy Egyptian wifi
  6. I'd love to be there, but.... http://m.accuweather.com/en/eg/sharm-el-sheikh/128443/weather-forecast/128443
  7. Cradley, Birmingham, Ipswich, Leicester, Somerset... May be more, I'll have to ask B4e
  8. I'll take that as a compliment, thanks. I've been called worse
  9. You're correct, Luke's a top bloke. All I can say it's a personal family issue. This is just me putting two & two together, I've heard nothing concrete. Hope he finds a team place somewhere. On his average there will be no shortage of takers. He's not known as a big track rider, so options could be limited. I can think of one or two places where Luke could do a job, but would involve a fair bit of travel. I'm not sure if he'd want that on a weekly basis
  10. Bandits fans I know can't stand the comics either, mainly due to morons like you
  11. Loving it Cliff, but I've gotta admit I'm missing my speedway fix. Blame the missus for getting preggers in February last year, a few weeks after we'd booked this holiday for November. We had to rebook for May.
  12. Sounds a decent idea in theory, but I think Andrew still runs a Sunday training school on Sundays. I agree with you that you won't get many attending both meetings.
  13. Most of what Big Eddie says I can't comment on as I'm not a local, so can't judge the overall feeling. The one thing in can agree with him though is his comment on the speed of the bikes. They are way to quick, which doesn't make for great racing a lot of the time. Some people say the new exhausts make them more difficult to control, especially on smaller tighter circuits.
  14. Berwick were the Liverpool of speedway last year. Exceeded expectations, but faded in the last month
  15. The way I see it is that they're on a hiding to nothing. If they grade and water too often the meeting would drag on for over 4 hours, people will complain. Do nothing to run the meetings through quickly and people will still complain. The only way I can see this resolved is to scrap the double header idea and run them as two separate meetings, say at 2pm & 6pm, giving Andrew a couple of hours to prepare the track for the Raiders. There are downsides to this... I can see most unwilling to hang around for two hours between meetings and then there's the issue of the referee having to do the same and a very long day for track staff etc.. There aren't enough free Saturdays to run separate Rockets & Raiders meetings, so I can't see another way round this in the present situation.
  16. Some of the things Len Silver comes out with are embarrassing. I had a lot of respect for him, but he's slowly losing the plot unfortunately. I'm thousands of miles away sunning it up, so can't dig around and find out what's really going on, have to put up with Facebook & Twitter, but it looks to me very similar to the Peterborough/Stoke Easter Monday meeting where the track wasn't watered or graded during the entire first half, leaving Andrew to try and prepare what remnants of track there was left for the second half. I'm led to believe the track for the Kent meeting last Saturday was pretty decent. The Rye House track simply can't handle double headers, that's the bottom line unfortunately
  17. Here's the link to the Herts Mercury article: http://m.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Farcical-scenes-Rye-House-Raiders-meeting/story-26439651-detail/story.html
  18. You can guarantee that if the Bandits don't run next year the promotion will blame the Supporters Club
  19. What's up with Anders? Nothing in the local news here in Egypt
  20. I'm gutted I couldn't make it, but probably would've still been fuming that we threw a lead away and just managed to scrape a point.
