  1. It's worth the admission to see Danyon Hume alone. Quite scary at times.
  2. He was practicing at Rye today with Luke Bowen
  3. She didn't see it. She was working the night shift in the cancer ward of a major London Hospital, tending seriously ill and dying patients. Doubt she'd be bothered about the result to be honest
  4. One of the worst meetings I've seen on Sky, or anywhere to be honest. Can't say I'm surprised. Very rarely see a good meeting at Berwick
  5. One of the worst meetings I've seen on Sky, or anywhere to be honest. Can't say I'm surprised. Very rarely see a good meeting at Berwick
  6. BW-D will be much in demand. There will be more lucrative offers than anything Rye House can offer. He's already touting himself around for sponsors, so the kid is at least trying. Only seen him a couple of times and he's impressed. Still plenty to improve on though.
  7. That would be the only reason I'd go, but I'm not spending £60 to find out
  8. You sure? I read it as can't guest for NL, but can guest in PL
  9. Not eligable to guest in the NL http://www.speedwaygb.co/files/downloads/nl15_issue_11.pdf
  10. Of course, my mistake. RR for Kasper Lykke. Anyway you look at it, it'll be a massacre
  11. Will do well to exceed 25 points. I'm saving my dough for the weekend meetings
  12. Ellis & Wilson-Dean are guesting for Boxall & Mellgren, who average is over 6. It'll be Massen and Greenwood at reserve Probable line up: 1. Kennett 2. Wilson-Dene 3. Ellis 4. RR (Lykke) 5. Jakobsen 6. Greenwood 7. Massen If Ipswich don't hit 60+ they should be ashamed of themselves *Edited*
  13. Ten points? Do me a favour. It'll be more like 20, probably more
  14. I used to go to stocks at Arena Essex in the mid to late 90's when there was no speedway at Rye House. The grass banks were packed for BH Monday meetings. Must've been in excess of three thousands people there.
  15. Speedway is an expensive sport to run. I've heard of some PL reserves on £50-£60 a point. If that's the reserves what are the heat leaders on? The admission costs can't cover the outgoings, so something's gotta give. I compare my visit to Berwick Rangers over Xmas and new year. About 500 people paying £12 a head. The Bandits charge £15 and attract similar crowds. Not having a pop, just comparing. How much to service a motor, £500-600 every couple of months? That's ridiculous. If your engine blows god help you. Something's gotta change
  16. Like it or not that's the way it is. You can't stop riders getting injured and with the amount of foreign riders in the PL you're gonna get fixture clashes with their home country club sides. When I first attended speedway in the mid 80's there were only Commonwealth riders allowed in the second tier. My club, thanks to Ronnie Russell, changed that with the signings of Jens Rasmussen and Peter Schroek. It probably would've happened at sometime anyway, In those days riders used to have one bike, usually transported on the back of their cars, occasionally on a trailer. Speedway was a lot less inexpensive for them, meaning there were more British riders to go around. There are nowhere near enough of the ability needed to make it a spectacle these days.
  17. I don't think the casual fan gives a stuff who's in the line ups as long as it's a good meeting with loads of close racing. The only people bothered will be fans of the teams participating
  18. Don't tell me he did that dangerous move on bend 4 again
  19. Riders were in difficulty early on, then the rain came and I feared the worst. The track settled down after the rain and although slick produced some decent racing. Bradley Wilson-Dean looks like he'll do a job in the PL next year. His move on Halsey in heat 15 was class. As usual, the fish & chips were excellent, the best in speedway.
