Right, lets see if the NSS track delivers, I think GB will win it, Sweden second. -

It’s so contrived when a team could go unbeaten on Friday and Saturday and be top scorers by 20 points or even more ahead of second place and still not be the champions. -

Yeah considering that was pretty contrived for TV to make it interesting that was still a poor meeting. -

I am pretty sure the meeting at Belle Vue will be better than this one on several counts. -

The Germans are the only ones trying to keep up with the idea of the meeting, Hancock as good as he has been at team riding in the past has no intention of trying to do so with Gino. -
Lakeside Hammers v Workington Comets - Friday 1st June
marko replied to tocha's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yeah he has scored loads at the NSS beating a ton of good riders but last night he only beat Zach, his other point coming from a race where there were only three finishers, lets have a little bit of reality here, yes he is an exceptional rider around NSS in the top league but when a rider only scores a couple of points as a second string in the 2nd tier, people need to pipe down stop putting pressure on the lad, he still has a very long way to. Don't forget Arena have had their fair share of riders down the years who could beat the very best riders in the world around Arena but were a shadow of that on others track, its nothing new. -

According to the program is was Steve Whitehead but whether they even had a manager present I have no idea, I would have been well cheesed off if that was my team and no real attempt was made to keep the score respectable. -

Yes Dan is very young and will only get better and from what I have heard he is down to earth so hopefully doesn't believe all the hype which was sort of my point, some have made him out to be this great hope, he might be one day, but not yet. -

Dan Bewley just comes across as a bit of a throttle jockey to me, easy to do it on the big tracks with fast bikes but Arena requires skill and throttle control. Bar Ty and Mason, the comets were very poor, but of course we are very strong at home because we have a very good team of really four heat leaders plus useful backup. -
How did or rather where did Ben hurt himself and is there any news on him? Hope he can get well soon, he has been a very good team player for us so far despite the tricky number two spot.

Lakeside Hammers v Edinburgh Monarchs Saturday 19th May
marko replied to tocha's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have to agree with you there Waco, he looks very unbalanced on the bike which possibly why he is prone to having a lot of offs and then beating himself up over it. Adam Ellis was the same though, once he learnt how to distribute his weight on the bike better (change riding style) he became a much better rider. -

What was Alfie like tonight? Was he completely off the pace again? -

Love Saturday night racing but I have to work, ironically could have gone last week but we didn’t have a meeting, could go next Friday but we don’t have a meeting, so not very happy really. -
Lakeside V Ipswich frid 4th May 8pm
marko replied to waco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes Bryce, despite them trying to blast music as loud as they can making it hard to talk to the person next to you, it has lacked atmosphere, racing wise pretty decent in the main. Crowd definitely down on previous match and I have to say crowds in general are much lower than what they we have had in the past, getting out of the stadium at the end has been a breeze this season, Only time I have ever known that at Arena was when we were on Sky TV on a Monday night. Ipswich have not had a good start but are only one rider away from being a good team, replace the German with a decent second string/third heat leader and they will be better, Conner Mountain has been very good around Arena, I am sure he will be on the list of potential guests should we need one for any of our lower order. -
Lakeside V Ipswich frid 4th May 8pm

The meeting felt like it dragged with Ipswich seemingly intent on giving their riders two on the trot whenever possible, it ruins the pacing of the meeting when you have a track grading break then a race then another big gap because of a rider having two on the trot, common sense would be to utilise those gaps to do track grading then but that’s a minor thing and the meeting was still completed within 100 minutes. Witches kept it closer than I thought and the main reason was they completely outscored our reserves, Zach doesn’t look as quick as he did at the start of the season and is still prone to having offs, and as Liam said, Alfie is terribly off the pace. still job done and it will give us another home match later in the season. -
