Thing is Gavan probably has Steve on block so can’t reply to what he can’t see anyway. So you have Gavan and Steve talking trash to each other and neither of them can see it and those of us who can are sick of it. -

Was tempted to have a bet on this meeting but the notion of a potentially sun baked track put me off, glad it did. -

I would say Poole look world beaters tonight, ok they have a couple of handy guests at reserve but Nico probably would have gone well, they just need to replace Richie Worrall and they would be title favourites. -

Bewley always seemed very quick around this track, take away that and he is very ordinary indeed but of course he must be given something of a pass as still very young and had a terrible injury. -

So for the purposes of maybe having a bet tonight, the teams will roughly line up as follows? Aces- Fricke - Berge - Bewley - S.Worrall - Bjerre - Bickey - Lidsey Pirates - Holder - r/r - Klindt - Grajconek - Kurtz - Becker - Etheridge -
Ipswich Vs Kings Lynn Thursday 20th June

Awesome Lawson was an extremely popular rider at Lakeside, one of the most popular we have ever had because he never gives up even when it’s not his night, I always look out for his scores and do intend getting along to a Ipswich home match at some point, it’s a canny team they have there and it’s about time Witches had something to cheer about. -
You might be onto something there compost, it rings a bell but it could also be a Mandela Effect.

I have said this before but if people stay away you will not get any money from them, even if you charge a tenner, that’s ten quid you would not have got otherwise, it doesn’t cost anymore to run the stadium if you have 500 people in or 5000 so you might as well pack the place out. 500 adults at £20 a pop is 10k 1000 adults at £10 a pop is also 10k

Will make Witches more solid at home, Edward will help keep the likes of Heeps and Allen at reserve or if they get pushed up they will have another very strong reserve down there, maybe Harris or the Polish kid.

True but with my club the age of the school children they aim at is junior, maybe primary, not a level where I suspect homework is a thing but then I haven’t done the school thing for 30 years so it could be very different now. Point taken about it being a late night though, again, if the promoters had their act together they could get meetings done quicker if they really wanted to.
-
My local football club works tirelessly with local schools and is always giving away free tickets, it doesn’t cost anything because these people would not likely have come anyway, so if you can get them to come again as a paying customer, even for just a few times, you will make money. If the product you are showing them is so bad that the next week or month they do not come back, that’s on you, not on them.

Not read all the preceding posts on the subject of speedway on the TV but for me the promoters have an obligation to market the sport in a way which makes it look as good as it can be, that’s not just a track that can provide as good as racing as possible but also encourage as many fans to come as possible and manage the stadium so it shows or at least appears to show the sport is well attended, people have said Belle Vue had a good crowd but so many empty seats made it look poor, They should have tarped off the other side and had everyone sit in the main grandstand, the production team can work with BT Sport to ensure camera angles protect the non used areas and show crowd shots of where fans are, it’s simply about hiding the negatives and exaggerating the positives, at places like Wolves this happens automatically as viewing is only available on one side anyway.

why is someone watching the racing from their car with the lights on? are they numpties?

Can someone tell Dan Bewley, he is riding at home tonight, not Lakeside, that's closed.

On a Monday, people are not going to rush home from work, then rush out in the traffic to get to the track, when they can relax, have a proper meal and watch it in the comfort of their living room, you have to give them a big incentive to make that extra effort, even if you just charge a fiver, its a fiver you would not have got anyway.

I no longer have a club to support but if I did I would welcome a league of 16-18 clubs, maybe its rose tinted glasses but I used to really enjoy the old National League back in the late 80s, so many teams and a lot of variety, that said though, they were the days when you had a lot of those clubs within reasonable distance, us Hammers had at various times, Hackney, Ipswich, Rye House, Mildenhall, Milton Keynes & Wimbledon.
-
Speaking as an defunct Hammer, I think Ben Morley needs to stop riding in the NL and start pushing himself against consistently better opposition otherwise he will never better the level he is at which is a level he has been at now for two seasons, Alfie though does need to ride NL as he is still very much learning his trade. I had high hopes for Kyle Newman last season and was convinced he would be Hammers fourth heat leader but for whatever reason it didn't happen, I don't think he will be a second division heat leader now, I think he had reached his limit, can be very good on any given day but really he is a 2nd division solid second string/ 1st division reserve.
