  1. If I was a Kent supporter, I'd rather see the best seven tracked NOW, rather than wait to 2022 in order that Mulford rising star level remains at 1.
  2. As one big league would require more riders, how will that solve "The desperate shortage of riders", unless you are proposing fewer teams UK-wide?
  3. Coles replaced MacDonald in heat 9 but it was never picked up. Reckon the initial delay for announcing that Ellis was replacing Coles as a TS was because the ref had never been notified at the time of that change in ht9, & was under impression that Coles had to take his statutory third ride in heat14.
  4. Hope Ben Duffil passes his response on to Speedway Star for publication in order to set the record straight and expose this Speedway Control Bureau chicanery.
  5. As CB posted on 11th June he was "Currently En Route", was wondering we have heard nothing more. Would have expected Tigers to have used him by now, or loaned him out, as he would certainly have attracted interest from other clubs.
  6. Aye just don't bother that it's one of the measures to assist in reducing the spread of Covid. Still so long as it ensures you can keep riding, and so what if you have been infected and then pass the virus on to some other poor sod
  7. The pay per view prices charged by Scottish Premier League Clubs ranged from £20 for Livingston to £9.99 for Rangers, with the others between £17.50 - £12 (Celtic did offer ppv). I would guess that Livingston with a smaller fan base had smaller guaranteed local subscribers & looked to generate more income from visiting fans, whereas Rangers would have a very large home fan base & could price at £9.99, given the volume of uptake. For those who missed last night's stream it's now available as rent on demand for £4.99 on EMTV here :- https://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2021-05-29/home-is-where-the-monarchs-are at bottom of screen
  8. As Edinburgh were previously denied a Work Permit for Luke Becker not finshing in the top 4 of the current US State Championship, how does Dillon Ruml qualify for a permit, given he was not in the top 4 in the US this Season?
  9. Hi

    I have quite a lot 1979 - 2005 @ 40 - 50p each plus p & p.

Is it only Internationals & World Championship QRs your after?

At the moment for example -

    Eng vs USA @Swindon 25/8/91 50p

Think this is the only International but plenty team matches at Swindon,  Reading Oxford, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh,  Long Eaton, etc @ 40p.

      Hi Dave

ok I'll compile a list, hopefully during next week & email it to you.

By championship events do you mean World Championship rounds only,   and/or local individual meetings also?

      All the Best

      Derek

  11. Keep an eye on eBay, the occasionally appear for sale on there.
  12. And the one laughing loudest will be Mr Ford who has team have now been promoted to Round 2, whilst Newcastle have been demoted to Round 1
  13. Rubbish - if they're good enough, I don't care where they come from, rather than be stuck with some CL wobbler because he happens to be British. Also the guff about Keleher being too old at 27 to be considered - John Louis was nearly 29 when he made his debut for Ipswich, so thank goodness your "too old to recruit" crap was not taken into account for him.
  14. Is Rasmus Jensen still a Somerset asset/not a Glasgow asset? If so, even if Tigers went PL, there might be competition for his services from Swindon or another PL club.
  15. As a result of Sheffield going PL, does that not mean they will now be available to other CL sides in 2020? Were Wolbert & Aspgren's last seasons in the UK not at second tier level, which would be used as for their GSA. If you had followed Aspgren's form overseas & in the SGP qualifiers this Season, it suggests he would be potential CL heat material now. Likewise both Lyager & Jepessen have improved considerably their overseas results Huckenbeck & Nilsson would still be eligible for the CL , as was the likes of Craig Cook (10.19), Edward Kennett (9.35) & Sam Masters(10.79) in 2019, despite their initial high starting averages. Oh and David Bellego on a PL GSA of 5.80 is another potential CL heat leader signing btw.
  16. Kai Huckenbeck, Kevin Wolbert, Pontus Aspgren, Kim Nilsson, Rene Bach, Andreas Lyager, Jonas Jepessen,. Plus with the Poole & Sheffield switch, the likes of Danny King & Kyle Howarth will probably be wishing to double down in the CL
  17. Here's what I consider the most eccentric cover i have in my collection from 1929 Exeter, I just find the artwork of the pre-1960 covers more interesting, & you can wallow in nostalgia viewing my old programme gallery on www.speedwayswapshop.co.uk
  18. Wonder if they tried for Ellis Perks to replace Jorgensen & R/R for Bjerre instead?
  19. Redcar used Lawson @ home in semi & Lions used Lawson on Saturday, so Allen should have been eligible. IIRC a guest can only appear for one side in a 2 legged round of a competition, e.g. KOC or Play-Off rounds.
  20. Assume Jake Allen was unavailable as he was the obvious guest choice for the Lions at Ashfield. If Cook does not experience the mechanical problems he had on Saturday, then he together with Rasmus Jensen are likely to go through the card on Tuesday. Likewise the Glasgow reserves should outscore their Lions counterparts who enjoyed a 9 - 2 advantage at Beaumont Park. I also cannot envisage Worrall scoring as much as guest Lawson's 11 on Saturday. Therefore expect Tigers to comfortably win by more than 12, and even if it went to an aggregate draw, who would bet against Cook & Rasmus Jensen winning the initial Golden Heat for Glasgow?
  21. IMO Glasgow, with Rasmus Jensen as currently the best rider in the CL, & Vissing riding better than ever, will be the title favourites. Stewart Dickson's choice of guests for Richie Worrall over the two legs will be crucial, and I would guess, if permitted ( given the loose wording of SCB 18.1.9), he might go for Jake Allen/Lewis Kerr at Ashfield, & Richard Lawson for the home leg).
  22. IMO Cook & Jensen are the red hot favourites based on their current form, with Somerset likely to be their main rivals. The other semi-finalists if Howarth is now fit enough to ride with King, I reckon will be Sheffield, together with Leicester
  23. Ever thought that it depends on how long it takes to recover from injury &/or when the medics advise it is fit to resume? Cameron Heeps recently was still unfit to ride for Edinburgh at Somerset on a Wednesday, but resumed at Ipswich the next day. Still I suppose it gives some an excuse to girn
  24. Looks like you wont have to wait long - taken from tonight's Official Edinburgh website:- "Sheffield Tigers visit Armadale this Friday in a Championship match postponed just over a month ago. Forecast is good and the Staggs Bar Monarchs should have their full septet available – Ricky Wells has missed Poole's matches this week but is intending to ride on Friday." Unless of course he aggravates his injury again on Friday
