Edinburgh - new home required….
cyclone replied to JanAndersen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
IIRC it was Avonbridge near Falkirk. Apparently it was only a piece of a field already used for informal motocross with nothing else. Also the only access was via a minor unlisted road. Believe Brian envisaged it being used for training purposes only. -

According to Edinburgh website:- "Early reports suggest James Sergeant has suffered a broken shoulder blade and four broken ribs following his crash on Friday nigh. He now faces a lengthy period on the sidelines. All at the Club wish James a speedy recovery." -

Monarchs v Bandits, Friday 15th April

You are right, BSPL website has got the correct scorers. -
Thinks this could depend upon how the reserves on both sides perform. IMO the Millar Brothers did not live up to expectations last year and will have to up their game if Devils are to be more competitive in 2022..
-
I doubt this will happen, as logically the scores of all riders who rode against Eastbourne in 2021 should also be erased. I believe this was queried after Eastbourne withdrew, re adjusting GSAs for all riders scores in matches against Eastbourne, and was not acted upon by the BSPL.

Dreadful if we re-sign Sedgmen & Sarjeant. Both have been around for some time & never progressed. In the case of Sarjeant, will he be fully fit physically & mentally for 2022, given his horrific crash at the Dale in October? Ruml is definitely worth another try at 4.00 as he has been beating both Becker & Nicol in the US lately.
-
Tobiasz Musielak Craig Cook Tom Brennan Danyon Hume Benjamin Basso Connor Bailey Jason Edwards/Archie Freeman
-
Having called the BSPL bluff of no Poles in the Championship, will Glasgow now go for Tobiasz Musielak for 2022? As his last Premier average with Swindon was 6.52, applying the 1.6 conversion for the Championship, this would make him their number one on 10.43 Assuming they would also wish to retain Cook, Ostergaard, Brennan, & Bailey I reckon the following would be their team building averages, including 2.5% for UK riders who were tier 3 eligible at some point in time:- Tobiasz Musielak 10.43 Craig Cook 8.91 reduced to 8.69 Ulrich Ostergaard 7.96 Tom Brennan 6.48 reduced to 6.32 Connor Bailey 4.27 reduced to 4.16 If I'm correct this would give a total of 37.56, leaving 4.44 to fit in the final two, if the minimum starting average was set at 2.00 for UK newcomers. If not allowed, then at least one of the above 1 - 5 would have to be dropped, to accommodate the Pole at number one.

Given the widely reported crisis in the NHS, including ambulance services , as a result of Covid, it appears you cannot rely on pre-Covid levels of response times. I would be very surprised if other non-NHS forms of patient transport would be prevented from delivering those requiring hospital treatment to A & E, where appropriate. It was a paramedic ambulance that eventually ferried Sarj for hospital treatment tonight.

There's a simple way to avoid Play-Off congestion, namely scrap 'em and recognise the team that finishes top of the league table as Champions. When Play-Offs were introduced in the 2nd Tier, there was talk that this would attract tv interest. Well we're still waiting! Add in the weather deteriorates in late Autumn and also there's a scramble by some clubs to strengthen up at the last minute & jettison existing team members like bits of flotsam.
-
Been told according to SCB regs, Edwards cannot guest for Edinburgh as he already guested for Brum in 1st leg.
-
Don't expect those that end up in any "assistance pot" would hang around for the odd booking, so how would they earn more? Likewise how would 6 man teams reduce doubling up/down unless you capped the number per team. If this was introduced would also reduce earnings potential of some of those who rode in both PL & CL, but no longer able to do so.

Newcastle v Birmingham (Champ) 1830 19/09/21

Why is Grobauer missing in the first place? He is not one of the German senior pairing (Huckenbeck & Smolinski) in Semi-Final Two of the SON @ Daugavpils on Saturday. Given his poor form, it is "convenient" & advantageous that McDonald can replace the German on Sunday -
Well Grobauer rode for Landshut @ Rawicz on Saturday in the 2nd leg of the Play - Offs semis & completed his 4 programmed rides Here's a link:- https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/relacja/126488/metalika-recycling-kolejarz-rawicz-trans-mf-landshut-devils

Damming quote on FB after tonight's match from soon to be retired & former Birmingham rider, Aaron Summers:- "track is the worst I've ridden in the UK and I use to love Birmingham being 1 of my home tracks was like a billiard table then. Now you need a mx bike to ride it"
-
Well Nowak looked decent amongst some quality riders tonight. When he eventually comes in at Glasgow as a reserve, will be no surprise if he starts scoring heavily from the outset and have up to 7 rides per meeting. It might have been a testing time for the Tigers between Sedgmen leaving & not having Nowak available immediately, but this could be a case of short term pain for long term gain, when the Play Offs start

And Birmingham will be thinking the same as they are there after us. Sure at the time, medical advice was 6 weeks before considering riding again. -

Announced as Archie Freeman tonight. Assuming guests henceforth, Bickley, Kinsley, & Edwards have lower GSAs than the retired Greaves. Seems Rising Stars are eligible with Freeman for Greaves tonight? -

Well if true, it must be to replace Lawson and at last they've belatedly got rid of someone whose machinery must rank as the poorest prepared in the CL. It will be a blessing not have to endure him regularly being underpowered or failing to complete races because of mechanical issues. Sure "Oor Wullie" has got trackcraft, but it was pointless if he was always piloting a lawnmower
