  1. You're being overly self-deprecating of your team which has noticeably improved at home recently with EK & the mercurial JG more than a match for any PL visitors round Rye House. If the talented Boxall has had his mechanical problems fixed by Michael Lee, and r/r for Mellgren is already providing better returns than the unfit Swede was achieving, I doubt if any of the previous victorious visitors would come away with the points now. Bowen & Greenwood at reserve should shred Sneddon & Fox, who are unlikely to suddenly find the fast way around. Also, if he rides, I doubt Stevie Worrall will be 100% fit for the Monarchs. Reckon the 3 match points will stay at home, but hope for an upset.
  2. I cannot see how how a one race day per league would be feasible in the UK, given that with a few exceptions, the stadia are not owned by the Speedway Promotion,. the facilities are shared with other sports, and local planning restrictions restrict use to certain weekdays. The consequence of imposing a single race day would probably mean quite a few tracks would immediately cease as they would be unable to run on the specified day of the week. Home meetings would be fortnightly and this would reduce the potential income of the promoters, riders, and stadium landlords. Taking Ashfield as an example, if the specified raceday was not a Sunday or Saturday (though there might be Saturday date clashes with the resident football club), then the club would require to install floodlighting for weekday evening meetings. I agree the present situation is unsatisfactory, but the single race day per league proposal would probably put a lot of clubs existence in jeopardy.
  3. You come out with unfounded stuff and are surprised when someone challenges you to back up your sniping with actual facts One thing for sure, you're such an authority on nothing
  4. More infantile rubbish from you in your ongoing sniping at Cook. FYI deliberately dropping points as you imply, results in loss of income.
  5. Bit unkind to refer to the visiting Bandits in these terms
  6. I have found this forecaster is usually more reliable than Michael Fish's former employer :- http://www.yr.no/place/United_Kingdom/Scotland/Armadale~2657067/hour_by_hour.html
  7. Confirmed on Official Edinburgh website that Aaron Fox will return Would expect it might still take him some time to be 100% fit after being the innocent party of that terrible crash at Berwick. Weather forecast is good for tomorrow evening also.
  8. So currently the failures are :- Aaron Fox, Rafal Konopka (from 7.00 ! ), Roland Benko, and Dimitri Berge , whilst the successes are Gino Manzares & Brady Kurtz
  9. So if actually replacing an assessed rider in the declared team, which average would you use ?
  10. By retaining an assessed average as the minimum for the season, this could benefit a team inasmuch that a higher scoring rider could remain at reserve. Also if the assessed rider was unavailable, then r/r or guest replacement would be more advantageous.
  11. Some clubs who have paid hospitality guests or matchday sponsors admit these people through the staff gate. Pehaps some of the alleged freeloaders fall into the above categories ?
  12. TBH did not expect Monarchs to take any match points with Fox, who is decent round Brough, being absent, and being replaced by a NL guest who, predictably, failed to score. Nice to see Cookie notch a 12 pt max, which will hopefully have a positive effect on his form from hereon
  13. Fox had scored 8 pts in each of his last two home team meetings, so it is unlikely any NL guest will emulate such a return on Friday. Somerset are imo the current PL form team, whereas some of the Monarchs are misfiring(both physically & mechanically) at the moment, and with this being their fourth meeting in 4 days, I foresee an away win on Friday
  14. Not a surprise with an on form team who are formidable at home, meeting early season pacesetters who are currently off form. Looking forward to seeing Brady Kurtz on Friday as he appears to be a special talent..
  15. Looks like Somerset will be in the right places at the right times:- @ Edinburgh where the home team will be riding their fourth consecutive match, with a NL guest replacing the injured Fox, who has been posting decent scores at home. @ Berwick, who will be considerably weakened by the absence, of Kus, Bellego, & Wethers, irrespective of the guest replacements @ Glasgow where Palovaara will only be riding his second home match, and at the difficult no. 1 position. No Surprise if the Rebels net at least nine points from these three fixtures.
  16. Edinburgh are also expected to be at full strength tonight at Berwick.. Wonder where Steve Worrall will be
  17. Don't know who told you the Sheffield match was re-arranged - it was in the original release of fixtures as scheduled for 14th August and was also listed as such in the Speedway Star 2014 Preview of 29th March.
  18. Depends on how much time he had after signing, to Tigers wishing him to ride for them. Organising the transit of equipment from Sweden to Scotland will take longer than catching an air flight across the North Sea.
  19. Your previous Scandinavian (aka Anders Thomsen) did not make an impressive start either, and he did not begin in the number one slot. Your promotion persevered and their patience is now paying off. Robert Eriksson rated Palovaara as a promising prospect in 2011, so perhaps the Tigeratti should give the lad some slack instead of online hostility.
  20. Saw the accident live on the online feed from Denmark, and it was obvious Lewis was in considerable pain. A reckless inside dive by Tommy Pedersen, knocked off Lewis's partner and his stray bike clattered into Lewis's left leg. Really sorry for Blackbird who has been making great strides this season. Get well soon son.
  21. See the so-called "duff Scandanavian" qualified from the Swedish Individual round at Malmo tonight with 8pts ahead of Peter Ljung, Jacob Thorssell, Fredrik Engman, Anton Rosén, Robin Aspegren, Simon Gustafsson, & Ludvig Lindgren Still I suppose two matches (on borrowed equipment ?) confirms he is not good enough for the Tigers
  22. See the alleged "foreign duffer" qualified from the Swedish Individual round at Malmo tonight with 8pts, ahead of Peter Ljung, Jacob Thorssell, Fredrik Engman, Anton Rosén, Robin Aspegren, Simon Gustafsson, & Ludvig Lindgren Still I suppose two matches (on borrowed equipment ?) confirms he is not good enough for the Tigers
  23. Go to post @ 1.26am on 2/8/14 on this link:- http://www.monarchs-chatzone.co.uk/forums/viewthread.php?tid=5588#pid114923 Prefer official team matches, but must admit this was a cracking meeting, with the action coming thick and fast for the minor placings also. Couple observations :- Kevin Wolbert looked poor to start with and then gets a class heat win over Craig, confirming his enigma status with the Tigeratti. Given what I've previously read on here about Rafal Konopka having difficulty staying on his bike in most of his races, he impressed with a smooth display on his maiden appearance at the Dale. Kind of disproves the trick track theory that some of our near neighbours go on about
  24. Does the tap water from the sinks in the bogs qualify ? If so, thanks but no thanks
  25. Berwick Speedway also prohibit food & drink being taken in to matches. IIRC, this restriction was introduced by the current Promotion there.
