Somerset probably have the strongest reserve pairing in the PL in Todd Kurtz & Paul Starke, but the Rebels require to to beat the Witches by more than 6 pts on Friday, to have the pleasure of facing the Monarchs in the Play-Off Final. If Monarchs do travel to OTA, you would expect the Monarchs reserves to be shredded there, given that Fox has been off the pace at most away venues and Deek might still be feeling the effects of his recently damaged wrist. However their home form is reasonable and at the Dale, the home reserves should outscore their counterparts.

Cookie has hardly excelled at Wimborne Rd in the past. I assume that neither Doyle or Zagar were available to guest for the Pirates at no. 1 ?

Both Edinburgh & Peterborough Promotions via their websites are acknowledging that Newcastle could have insisted that the the second leg of the KOC be held on Sunday. George English has allowed the Peterborough meeting to take place instead because he recognized that some Monarchs fans had already made travel arrangements for Sunday. Nice to see that the travelling fans have been considered in this instance

The Glasgow Promotion issued a news release on Monday which stated:- "The change to start time has been brought about by us requiring additional time for 3 of our riders to travel back to Glasgow from meeting’s the evening before – Tero is competing in Finland, whilst Saturday night is also the re-staging date for the FIM Europe U21 Championship Final (Rybnik, Poland) which both Victor and Kasper have qualified for. All three riders have secured passage back to Scotland on Sunday, however a 5pm start will allow them vital travel and preparation time ahead of lining-up to face the Diamonds." Although they were tardy in publicising this information, under the circumstances, imo, it was not an unreasonable course of action taken by them.

Teams as per Official Monarchs website :- SCOTWASTE MONARCHS: Craig Cook, Justin Sedgmen, Max Fricke, Stevie Worrall, Sam Masters, Aaron Fox, Derek Sneddon (captain) WORKINGTON COMETS: Kevin Doolan (guest for Josh Grajczonek), Ricky Wells, Rene Bach(captain), Mason Campton, Kyle Howarth, To be announced, Simon Lambert According to Worky website, the Comets are currently struggling to find a PL guest for Joe Jacobs, as he is riding for Wolves @ Brandon on Friday. Good to see that Kyle Howarth intends to resume racing after his crash on the 15th, Would imagine most Comets fans were expecting Richard Lawson to guest at no. 1 over the two legs, but Doolan did a good job for Berwick at Armadale last Friday, and Stuart Robson will be an able replacement at Derwent Park on the Saturday. Hope all seven Monarchs emerge unscathed from Sheffield tonight, as there have been a few injuries occurring there recently.

Glad to see you appreciate the PL's no. 1 is patriotically supporting this meeting Still expect Simon Stead to come out on top, and really hope we have an injury free meeting. -

Agree Craig's tweet is stupid and unnecessary. All this achieves is it encourages the internet trolls to spout more nasty bile in his direction -
Has steadily developed to now achieve an SGP 2015 slot. Leaving Somerset and concentrating on EL, Sweden, Denmark, & Poland have definitely accelerated his progress.

Agree the sickly Deek was the man who turned the tide in Monarchs favour. You're being a bit disrespectful to write Worky off before they have ridden a match in the Group -

Given Deek's GSA of 4.51, the choice of PL guests were fairly restricted. Although the Danes, Lykke, Barrett, & Nielsen were eligible, I would guess they were back home in Denmark as they do not have scheduled PL fixtures for a while.. Konopka was ineligible as he had already guested for Newcastle here last Saturday. That left Luke Bowen, Oliver Greenwood,Tom Perry, Joe Jacobs, and Simon Lambert from the PL, and possibly Ben Morley, James Sarjeant, Nathan Greaves, & Max Clegg from the NL. How many were willing and able to travel to Armadale at short notice is another matter. So for Max Clegg to accept the booking, we should be grateful for his commitment. Monarchs struggled to get into their stride early on, and despite the impressive performance of Doolan, and useful contributions of Edberg & Wethers, the remaining Bandits were poor. Bandits will probably pick up the three match points at Shielfield today, so expect this section to go down to the wire, with all three teams giving little away at home. -

Quiet correct, we do not stoop to such dubious tactics - hopefully the ref will stop this start line chicanery by the Berwick track staff on Saturday -

There's also the added attraction of watching the speccy start marshall & his assistant selectively grading the gates to relieve the boredom -

Monarchs were there for the taking last night and had Robson been ok , they would have probably won. Re Stevie Worrall, his plight looked the worse in the ht3 carnage with his own bike slamming into him after he hit the air fence. I was surprised he appeared unscathed, but I think his horrific crash unsurprisingly affected his subsequent performance. -
Teams as per Edinburgh website:- SCOTWASTE MONARCHS; Craig Cook, Justin Sedgmen, Max Fricke, Stevie Worrall, Sam Masters, Aaron Fox, Derek Sneddon (capt.) GLASGOW TIGERS: Victor Palovaara, Theo Pijper (capt.), Kevin Wolbert, Tero Aarnio, Rusty Harrison, Kasper Lykke, Jan Graversen (guest). This is the second match on Friday, which Tigers fans, if they wish can gain entry to this match only (see Monarchs website for details). The Buckfast Boys have noticeably improved recently and this could turn out to be a close run affair. Tigers Swedish signing, U-21 International Victor Palovaara will hopefully make his Armadale debut, but expect him to be (cough) "unavailable" for Sunday's return

Comets Scrap Two Fixtures.
cyclone replied to Lord Lucan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Re scrapping the Edinburgh fixture, I wonder what the Workington Promotion will do re the admission ticket for the original postponed fixture, which entitled visiting fans to a partial refund when restaged ? -
At end of article:- http://www.bellevueaces.co/newsitem.aspx?id=1244 MPT,s last three home scores were 9, 7, & 8, so what do you expect Fricke to score in his place ?
-
Not so according to BV website. Fricke for MPT, & O.Greeenwood for Stefan Nielsen.

I recall it has happened a few years ago, so if you care to examine historical records, you should find it As there were two separate meetings tonight,it would appear the licensed official's interpretation of the rules differs from yours. I would imagine that a qualified ref would be more au fait with the application of the rulebook, than someone who merely has a copy of the rulebook, but no current practical experience of how to apply them -

Has been done before, and where there are time curfews and the result of the first match is already decided, seems sensible. Or would you prefer that the second match is undecided because of being unable to complete before curfew ? To be fair to Worky, the long delays because of requiring the County Ambulance, and then an Air Ambulance, was outwith their control.
