Oh dear getting up tight when your bully boy tactics cut no ice with me. As expected, you resort to personal insults when someone derides your pathetic attempt at sarcasm on an Edinburgh thread. Time you took a reality check and realised the only "clown" you see is when you are adoring yourself in the mirror
-
Typical illiterate, ungracious post - you cannot even compose a short sentence together. Instead of trying to be sarcastic, time you tried to improve your command of English. P.S. the words you were struggling with are posts and they're
-
Pity you had not read my original post fully before trying to be a smart ass - Mac101 has already acknowledged his original post was erroneous. Try re-reading again and given you are always sniping others on here, can I expect a rapid response

Cockle had a final PL GSA in 2012 of 3.47 hence why he is ineligible. However Tom Perry had a final PL GSA of 3.53 with Somerset in 2012, which dropped to 3.00 in 2014 with Scunthorpe, which suggests that eligibility is based on a rider's most recent GSA, hence why Peterborough were permitted to declare him as their 2016 number seven.. You're making this up - kindly quote the relevant official regulation if true.
-
Yes it would if there was a new British discovery who had never previously ridden in the NL, but was considered good enough to start directly in the PL.
-
On paper, this 1 - 7 has the potential to be the 2016 Champs. Previous posters reckoned Comets have previously looked good on paper but under achieved on track. IMO the most significant impediment has been that they have been decimated by injury, often long term. Given the rough time Cumbria has had with recent floods, and also having a fair minded Promoter, I would be pleased if the Comets take the 2016 PL title.

See Tigers Victor & Barry are entertaining us on the Monarchs thread again tonight – “I really like your post George, and I sooo like your post Gaz”. Take it you pair ride a tandem to Ashfield and take turns in the rear to admire the view in front
-
Would agree with others that Fernando Garcia could well improve considerably if mounted on decent bikes, which I would expect Glasgow to ensure is the case. When he guested for the Monarchs in the League Cup Final at the Dale, he beat Richard Lawson fair and square, which was no mean feat. Capturing Richie Worrall on his present average is a steal and I would imagine that Newcastle are very disappointed at failing to re-sign him. On paper, the 2016 Tigers appear to be as good as, if not better, than any other side so far declared.
-
Unquestionably the best signing in the PL for 2016 is Lambert. When he was up at Armadale he came across as a modest youngster in the pits, not the Billy Big Time some on here claim. Given his tender years and the parental support he has had from an early age, it is not unreasonable Ma & Pa are protective of their son's speedway career and they should be given some slack on here by certain snide critics.

Until Craig has gained experience of regularly riding on the Polish & Swedish tracks, none of us will know whether or not he will qualify as a regular in the GPs. I have to disagree that he does not have the head for it, or the talent, and imo, the missing ingredient was that his machinery was below the standard of the top guys in the EL who also ride in Sweden & Poland This appeared to change with his recent closer link up with Ashley Holloway providing and tuning, engines for him, The result of this was that he ended up the top scorer in EL Play-Off Final, with 25 out of a possible 30 from 10 rides, which also included a zero for an exclusion. He subsequently rode in Poland at Krakow, a track he had never seen before, and finished runner up to Patryk Dudek (who had previously scored a max in the star studded Darcy Ward Benefit Meeting at Poole) in the Lord Mayor Cup winner-takes-all final, having previously defeated Dudek in the 20 heat qualifier. The Polish match report described him as the "impressive Craig Cook" and it appears he has now had several offers from both Promoters and Sponsors to race in Poland in 2016. Whether these impressive late Season performances at the top level will continue in 2016 remains to be seen, but I think your "no chance" comment at this point in time is unjustified.

Let’s remind ourselves of what we have achieved in the past two seasons, in terms of national trophies and also topping the League, which I reckon no other club has come near to, since the inception of the Premier League. In 2014, the Monarchs topped the Premier League table, won the Premier League Play-Off, won the KO Cup, won the Premier Trophy, and were also PL Pairs winners. With success came the requirement to break up a brilliant septet to meet the overall team building limit total GSA of 42.5 for 2015. So out went Derek Sneddon (retired), Max Fricke (to Belle Vue), Stevie Worrall (to Newcastle), and Aaron Fox (returned to USA), to be replaced by Kevin Wölbert (returning to the Monarchs from a hostile time at Glasgow), Rob Branford (resuming his career in the UK after injury in 2013), Max Clegg (doubling up from NL Cradley Heath) and finally Erik Riss, (a 19 year old German, with very little experience of riding conventional Speedway) Having experienced the euphoria of supporting Edinburgh to their best ever season in 2014, I was happy enough to settle for that forever, and did not expect similar success this season. But, to my surprise and possibly most other Monarchs fans, we probably did as well, topping the Premier League table again, winning the Premier League Play-Off again, retaining the Premier Trophy, plus winning the Premier Fours and Premier Shield in 2015. We will yet again have to break up another Magnificent Seven for 2016, but it’s a price worth paying to have experienced such stellar success in consecutive seasons. I do not expect us to win anything next season and will be happy if we continue to see good quality racing on the excellently prepared Armadale track. I will leave others to speculate on the composition of the 2016 Edinburgh Monarchs but win, lose or draw, I will continue to support my team at home, and sometimes away. Whoever wins the medals in 2016 we will graciously acknowledge their achievements, rather than adopt the “anyone but them” attitude displayed by certain jealous parties towards the Monarchs over 2014 – 2015. It would however be nice if some side that has not achieved much success at second tier level were to gain major national success, such as Berwick or Plymouth.

You're the one with humour bypass or you don't understand the meaning of emoticons. When you poke fun at others it's banter - fair enough, but when some of us return the compliment you suddenly become thin skinned. Thanks for confirming you have a mum, rather than being an orphan
-
Alternatively you could have Ryan Fisher on 7.52 who might be even better, given his previous performances at Ashfield, which iirc, included a five ride maximum
-
So I take it you had a good scrub up after the Somerset match at Ashfield, as a precaution in case any Celtic season ticket holders had taken up the free ticket offer ? Wonder if the Facennas support either of the Old Firm
-
So does Spell and Check apparently - it's entourage b.t.w.

Nice try to duck the specific point which had invalidated your false premises. The only rubbish appears to be in your head as it's obviously cluttering your brain from comprehending that you are contradicting yourself. Re-read and explain precisely why the close proximity of the two tracks is not a relevant factor. You refer to "The historical agreement and close nearby thing is a load of rubbish" (why - explain but briefly please instead of the usual lengthy waffle) and then you try to justify your pov by referring to situation "through the 70's, 80's and 90's" (earlier history btw ). To explain to you succinctly, this is 2015, the Monarchs race at Armadale Stadium, Armadale, West Lothian, the distance between Armadale and Ashfield less than 30 miles. As such, the Monarchs, being the senior Promotion, are within their rights to object to Glasgow's application to run on the same race day (i.e Fridays). I apologise in advance for adopting the less than polite terms used by yourself (rubbish, garbage) but I did refrain from referring to you as one of the Glasgow mob I'll take your word for this as tbh, I do not remember this - who was the individual "spouting" this - Dick Barrie or a young Michael Max ?? - was he a regular at Shawfield during the previous season? Personally I never pay much attention to the centre green presenters but if I found his comments to be really offensive, I would complain to the Promotion before considering my next move. Did anyone raise the issue directly before withdrawing their custom ? Thanks for the tip - I'll try my best
-
Arrogance ? - Rubbish ! It was Scottish Monarchs, not Edinburgh Monarchs btw. IMO if there was no Scottish team present at league level, it would have been problematic that any would have been later readmitted, given the tepid enthusiasm of certain Southern English teams to travel North of the Border. I was also eternally grateful to mainly Jimmy Beaton & Co. when alone, they kept Scottish Flag flying between 1970 and 1974 at Hampden & Coatbridge. I travelled through from Edinburgh as a supporter of Scottish Speedway to most of the home matches at both venues, as well as quite a few at Berwick, and then Paisley in '75 - '76, before Powderhall opened. During that time I also gave my travelling support to Tigers at various away venues, including Eastbourne, Birmingham, Bradford, Cradley, etc. During 1996 it was apparent that some Tigers supporters rather than attend live speedway in Scotland on their doorstep, pettily boycotted because of the change of team name & colours. It was conveniently forgotten that the demise of Glasgow had nothing to do with the Edinburgh Promotion and that no one else was willing to pay the rent for the use of Shawfield.at that time.

justere2cgoodspeedway in your detailed response in Post # 749, you appear to have neglected to respond to the salient point in red above, which could apply to other forms of commerce (iirc the number and location of enterprises modifying vehicles for use as certain types of taxis is restricted) Another factor in Speedway is that length of unbroken service (i.e. seniority) confers rewards on those who have continued to operate during the hard times. You will recall that, amid financial difficulties, Glasgow closed down at the end of 1995, and, instead, the Edinburgh Promotion were the sole organisation which kept Speedway running in Scotland in 1996, for which you should all be eternally grateful. Therefore when Glasgow returned in 1997, they were effectively a new kid on the block in terms of seniority. Also in 1997 Edinburgh relocated to Armadale and opted for Friday, as their race night. Given the reduced distance between Armadale and Glasgow, plus a smaller catchment area as opposed to the centre of Edinburgh, the Monarchs Promotion, as the senior track were entitled to protect their business from any further diminution of their income, within the framework of the protocols of the BSPA. One final point none of us know how many casual attendees visit both tracks on a Friday or Sunday over the Season, but if both were running on the same day, they could not go to both over a weekend.
-
Clegg's final GSA is published as 3.48. If the reduction is still 2.5%, that reduces it to 3.39.
-
Apart from Peterborough replacing Leicester, the remaining twelve PL clubs are unchanged from 2013.. Scunthorpe changing from a Friday to Sunday could also change their voting intentions, though as Rob Godfrey reckoned Glasgow had reneged on the loan deal agreement for David Howe, by giving him his Tigers debut at Scunny, this might influence as to how he will vote. Also worth noting that by changing from a Friday to a Sunday race-day, you would presume that RG does not see this as an impediment to assembling a competitive side.

Not much chance when those on Friday in the hospitality cabin in the middle between the 3rd/4th bend were suitably tanked up and shouting & gesturing vile abuse towards the Monarchs riders on their parade lap. Returning round at the end of the meeting these morons were more intoxicated and still shouting foul anti-Edinburgh abuse into the night air. What a wonderful environment to bring your kids along to, not ! You have to ask why those providing hospitality continued to fuel these eejits up
