  1. The track is so wide as they usually race midget cars on it, it is really hard to see how he hit the tyres with an impact. I haven't seen the accident but yes there is an airfence which would have to be FIM standard to run an FIM meeting. I have been to the track and the tyres seem to be there an an extra protection and safer then a lot of our premier league clubs.
  2. Yes our thoughts go out to him and his family, hope he pulls through.
  3. What about Sanchez and Wright, think this fits
  4. No knocking from Sanchez (fact). Is there really two riders interested to sign or is this some PR?
  5. Ben was an option last year before Schramm came in but turned down the offer. I understand that he is working full time now and not as interested in speedway.
  6. Schramm or Sanchez all have costs and expenses themselves, Schramm particularly has a long way to travel, and they would both also need to make a living. They still need to have engines serviced, fuel, insurance, parts etc.... so why do you think they are a cheaper option? Sanchez was the next one to Wells in the averages and so you would expect running costs to be similar.
  7. He hasn't demanded more money he said that he would take the same deal as last year but the club have offered him a lot less.
  8. This can't be true why would you sign a less than 5 point average rider when you have 7.99 to play with??????? madness
  9. Probably no-one knows what the riders are getting paid exactly and I don't believe that anyone under an 8 point average is getting fantastic money. The riders have a lot of costs to cover. They only get paid around 10p a mile for travel which obviously doesn't cover the cost of the fuel, tax, insurance etc. They get paid their points money but the cost of a tyre and insurance is deducted from this, they have now had the bonus point payment for coming 3rd behind their team mate removed and on top of all this they have their service and bike running costs, methonol, parts etc to pay for. The situation is that promotions are cutting costs whilst riders costs go up or remain the same. If it means that Ricky would get into debt just so that he can ride for Sheffield Speedway then I don't blame him for saying no, riders need to make a living just like the rest of us. Why does he have to prove himself on a lower wage, if he would be financially better off not racing for Sheffield i.e. not accruing debts.
  10. Simon Lambert has already signed for Rye House. You can't blame Ricky for not taking less money you are not going to accept a job that you know you are going to lose money on, that would be madness. Plus Ricky said that they had offered a lot less than last year and Sheffield are not known for paying the best rates.????
  11. I have been to Argentina and see him race, the four points he scored in the u21's was four thirds and only beat another Argy rider. He is way off the standard of Covatti, Sanchez or Husman but you can't knock his spirit
  12. Agree Albin a massive gamble, I have seen him race a few times (in Argentina) and just don't think him or his equipment is ready for the premier league.
  13. Has anyone heard for any news from the meeting yesterday?
  14. Emiliano Sanchez Argentine International Speedway Champion 2012 Well done Emiliooooooooooooooooooooo
  15. For the riders I have spoken to £80 a point is high I think you are looking at more £60-£70 for a Premier League heatleader and as for sponsorship there is a lot of riders out there that don't have any sponsorship or have lost sponsorship. When the purse strings need to tighten sponsorship is the first thing companies/people drop. Also in the Premier league apart from the Swedes and Danes I don't think there are many that race abroad. It is tough for the riders with all the costs going up and the points money going down, and no they don't get start money. I agree with screamer they are worth more than they get.
