  1. Really surprised at Makinen as at Leicester he looked a good rider at home and was really good out of the gate, I hear he has had some personal problems off track so maybe that is affecting his racing this year. But have to say I would have expected more
  2. It is good to hear that the majority are happy with the updated coverage of the Elite league and the use of new technology, Although I am rather biased I think it really does improve the coverage and makes it a lot more enjoyable. The around the tracks feature was a trial using very new technology called Live U which basically removes the expense and restrictions of having a satellite uplink truck at the other tracks , instead the pictures from the one camera is fed into a box that fits into a backpack and then broadcasts it by using 12 SIM cards and sends it over 3G and 4G mobile phone networks. You may have noticed the coverage from Wolves looked better than Belle Vue that was due to two reasons poor light in the pits at BV something that can be sorted by us but it was mainly down to us getting very good 4G signal from EE at Wolves with it providing over 55mb upload speeds where at BV most data was sent over the 3 and Vodafone 3G networks. This service will improve over the summer the more EE and other networks roll out 4G across the UK We did try sending some race footage over to Swindon but the fast live action made the picture come rather blurry and really did not look so good but again will improve with lighter evenings and more bandwidth.
  3. Just providing facts and information to answer the questions and complaints. I suggest you try 3,15,29,32,49 and bonus ball 24 for the lottery on Saturday
  4. Neb- Yes I have heard the same that Magnus could be back as temp cover for Roynon but also that there was another rider in consideration subject to their parent club approval. I fully expect a signing today or tomorrow as will have to declare for Saturday soon
  5. I think one of the issues yesterday was Bunyans condition went downhill after being taken off the track and had to be adminstered some drugs which meant the track paramedic had to stay with and go to hospital with him so even if another ambulance had been there same issues would have happened I am told.
  6. I think people can accept the leaks to a certain amount as first meeting but not the lack of urinals in the massive male toilet with space for another 4 or 5 urinals. It does beg the question though why was the toilets and office block such a rush thing they had all winter to do the work but waited until few weeks before season started with even Hemsley saying been a rush and that he had been hanging doors and getting ticket office finished on Saturday Hopefully for my next visit when in the area the weather will be warmer so get better indication of track and faults can be ironed out around the stadium like with the music playing over race results and interviews hopefully just first night issues.
  7. Well said Glyn rider safety has always got to come first there has been already some bad injuries this season with Tully,Roynon,Bunyan and Lambert all spending time in hospital recovering from injuries. As I said before hopefully with the warmer weather it will more water and grip on the outside to allow passes on outside and cutbacks
  8. Well I made a rare visit to Rye house and can't believe how long it took to run the meeting and I know delays with medical care can not be avoided but there did not seem to be any urgency in running the meeting or getting racing started again. Best wishes to all the injured riders but have to say Lambert crash was his own fault as he tried to lean on Tungate but he was too small and light so they both ended up in the fence. I felt bit sorry for Makinen as crash not his own fault but to be honest was not even on the pace and was last out of the gate. Last year at Leicester his strong point was his gating but wasn't happening today and fear for his team place as not scored a point yet and the Ipswich fans around me already saying they want rid.
  9. There was definitely dirt flying but hopefully when the weather improves it will allow Glyn and his team to make the outside more grippy so can get passing round the outside
  10. I went to Leicester last night and to be honest think it is far too early in the season to make final judgements on the track changes as the cold weather would have meant track had to be prepared in a specific way to prevent ice and frost getting into the track in the lead up to the meeting. What I did notice is that gate 1 seems to be terrible now with being too tight once gets to the bend and as other have said can see some accidents and spear tackling. For Leicester I thought they really missed Roynon last night and that Doolan and Nielsen did not look quick enough once out on track the others did what was expected. For Sheffield Stead was the rider I thought he would be very strong and will be near top of averages at end of the season I was impressed by Wells and the new Facundo with Hall like bit of loose dirt on the outside. The new toilet block oh what a disaster with large building but only 3 urinals for men with crowds over 1000 just not enough with large qs happening which meant people missing some of the racing and heard from people around me that ladies no better with leaking toilets so wet floors all in not a good experience for fans
  11. Was going to travel up for this meeting but don't think it will be on tonight. I hope for the fans that they can be sensible and call it off early afternoon so people don't travel and can make other arrangements
  12. Anybody know anything about a rider withdrawing heard couple of names mentioned and being replaced by Darcy Ward ? Somebody just text me this but seem to remember something about Ward and Holder being unavailable
  13. So as asked on the other thread who would fans like as the main presenter of the show and as the main regular guest ? The commentary will remain the same with Nigel and Kelvin as that's the BSI world feed
  14. Obviously any person or company that sponsor the sport is good and as Hurricanes has confirmed may not bring vast amounts of cash in but if the club don't have to pay to transport any shale this year will save few thousand over the season Does seem from little web research that they are a small company doing quarry transport bit like the new co promotors business
  15. I am surprised nobody has mentioned about the new team sponsors H Jordan haulage not exactly the large well known name the club were mentioning.
  16. I don't see any reason why BSI could not use Sky sports at Cardiff as the host broadcaster even though they have no live rights. In fact this is the most common sense option as Sky Speedway production team have many years experience and know which crew to use along with OB facilities partner Telegenic. A lot depends on who the UK broadcaster is as Premier sports in fairness are mainly a rebroadcaster and produce very little themselves just a bit of non league football and some rugby league. Upto BSI and Steve who they use really to cover Cardiff
  17. Shall have to see was just a suggestion it would obviously need clubs agreement as well
  18. Very possible few more premier meetings this season maybe even a couple of Saturday shows as well
  19. Sky do not produce the Cardiff and UK World Cup coverage it is done by BSI with Steve Saint in control all Sky do as host broadcaster is arrange the broadcast facilities which they don't own anyway. I am sure Telegenic Sky's usual on provider for Speedway will be more than happy to deal direct with BSI and Steve. If not I'm sure SIS Live or Visions ob would jump at the chance as Cardiff you could be looking at 100k plus with amount of cameras and rigging required. All that Sky did at Cardiff and Kings Lynn was presentation, pit interviews and comms which they had own truck for but still used world feed pictures. If it does go to Premier sports unfortunately it won't be same quality as they are only an SD broadcaster and at low bandwidth so although they will get HD feed will be down converted for broadcast
  20. From the plans that the council published and the council reports I saw when approval given it was clear that that the five a side football, velodrome and possible Golf driving range business were private unconnected businesses to the Speedway and that they were acting as agents to sublet sections of the land. Obviously I can't comment on any possible council wrangling as don't live in the city but relatives who do say heard nothing public about problems that they know of.
  21. As a Speedway fan I will be very happy if BSI can do a deal with another broadcaster but want to make clear that the door is not closed on Speedway at Sky for good. With many people here disappointed that a possible deal has fell through
  22. The land around the stadium is empty for one main reason the state of the UK economy no businesses are interested in building sports facilities at present. The club have offered the land back to the council if they want to build football pitches, basketball courts or even a children's play area but the council don't want to and can't afford it.
  23. Can not comment on this information at the min but will not be on ESPN as they have sold all their current rights to BT today Such a shame that BT sports is not launching until July
  24. New Science- There will 1 or 2 less Darts events on Sky in the next 12 months and its not just events being cut its the production costs as well with a few less cameras next season for Rugby and championship/league football
  25. The elite league on a meeting by meeting basis is quite a lot more expensive than GP coverage. Each week costs 40-50k a week depending on location and what facilities are required.
