  1. I hear Lasse Bjerre confirmed as wildcard at Berwick so will just be him or a Brit as well ?
  2. I understand that Sweden have to qualify but not GB as all teams that reach race off are straight in the following year.
  3. I made a rare visit to Rye House last night as a nice evening , What happened was that 2 county ambulances were called at the same time to take both riders off to hospital one arrived very quickly but as the ambulance service had been advised that multiple casualties from a motorbike accident including one with possible internal bleeding and pelvic/thigh injuries. The hospital sent a urgent care doctor to the track who then took control of the situation and gave Rose morphine and put him on a drip he then said that he was not prepared to wait for 2nd ambulance so track ambulance had to take him also the suspected injuries would mean extra caution over any speedbumps or potholesThis is all fact as came from a track official. I was very pleased to see that both riders did not receive any broken bones in the crash. Onto the meeting Somerset did so well to get a point and Nick Morris looked very good, Rye should have let them get back into it. On a side note I am sorry to say the Fish and chips is nowhere near as good as previously with frozen chips and suspect fish as well. I can understand the reasoning for this when a meeting gets rained off the club then get lots of waste with fish and potatoes
  4. The impression I was given was that the pavilion would be built on some of the land in front of the ticket office with a bar area, function room, changing rooms and offices. They also said would be more car parking as well with the current area as overflow
  5. The earth mounds that are being around the stadium I am told is being done for 3 main reasons them being the earth will be built up to create the track in a bowl which should help with the noise complaints as all noise should then just rise directly up and not out via fences. 2nd the land by the ticket office will be the club house and pavilion with the new toilets and office built this year having the foundations to build on top of. 3. Yes the club do make money with having this earth but also required for reason 1. I asked the question as was worried about the looks and that was the answer I got so at present will see if do as they say. I know they have been having problem with the council with officials there on Saturday looking at noise and other bits I heard were even saying about music being too loud and no hot water in toilets
  6. I have heard that there has been talks today with Nemo to try and clear the air with the riders and try get hm onside. Hopefully it went well and he can call the others to get the team back on track.
  7. I think Saturdays revolt to Hemsley was the final straw in long running lack of respect for him as he goes about things all the wrong way. Why is he allowing his wife to do the team talk and pick riders for heat 15, him coming into pits home and away pushing his nose in about setups when he has little knowledge. He also did a lot of damage the way he was at Nemos meeting why was his own promotor no where to be seen until it was time to collect bar takings. He was open to fans that he wasn't happy with the meeting as he wasn't making the money that day. He even tried to charge Kauko for volunteers who steward the stadium and other non paid officials.
  8. Well last night was err very interesting and one of the most funny things to happen was the promotors new idea that his wife will now do the team talk before the meeting to the riders and also was involved in picking the riders for heat 15. I am sorry but that idea is very wrong she spends most of the meeting in the lower bar, in the office or walking around the stadium with friends. As much she is a lovely person the team affairs should be left to Glyn. I hear may be some good news that Alex has not broken his ankle with just soft tissue damage and may only be out for 10-14 days.
  9. Yeah as I was leaving heard the same thing about riders refusing to ride for Hemsley after the way he spoke to them tonight. So in the space of 2 weeks upset big sponsors and his team, I really do fear the future of the club. On the plus side it was a very good meeting
  10. It seems to me that Adam Roynon seems to really have confused matters at Glasgow, As many thought and hoped that he would come back strong in Kaukos meeting and that Leicester would release Magnus Karlsson to go to Glasgow with the rider himself saying he would be keen to go there if required. If Leicester were to keep Magnus then Glasgow could look at Roynon BUT that is all in an ideal world and has not happened as Roynon is not ready for league return yet and has a high average to live up to so massive gamble for some club to take on previous meetings this year. If he was to return now from what I have seen and have been told if he was to join a team now can see his average score being 4-5 but how is the lad going to get his confidence back and the racing skill back without regular racing with 4 riders in proper races, its all well and good blasting round Brandon or Sheffield on your own or with an other but not true racing where points and money at stake. The rumoured GP rider I think may have been Ales Dryml
  11. I understand that Scott Nicholls has been offered a chance to ride in the World Cup but has decided to stick to his decision and will be working for Eurosport with Sophie Blake. The team I think should be on current form Woofy,Harris,Cook and Barker I feel it may be one year soon for Worrall he could come in if Cook or Barker really struggle at Kings Lynn
  12. Jonas Raun will be the rider that they will be announcing soon I think he is a Peterborough asset so probably just get a loan agreed with them,I saw him ride at show ground after the Coventry match and looked a good premier league option. I wonder what his average is ?
  13. To take Roynon at present is a huge gamble on his current average, He is very low in confidence and both at Leicester 2 weeks ago and am told today at Glasgow he looked very tentative and not mixing it too well.
  14. The viewing figures this year have been ok with Premier league racing more than holding its own and there will be more meetings during the season. What has been very good to see is how many people who are watching Speedway via Sky's on demand service with regular downloads of over 10,000 requests in the week it is on there. As others have said the bspa need to decide what product they have to offer and what they can do to provide value for money on a tv deal. I know I am not impartial but I thought the coverage and production of the Somerset match was very good and that the Batcam showed what it could with the right light levels and shots being used.
  15. I too can not see Eurosport paying the weekly production costs for the elite league unless they could get a major coverage sponsor which is not likely to happen. On the other hand I don't want to see Speedway go down the same line of dog racing who produce their own coverage then just sell it onto Sky, The product delivered now in my mind is very poor with very few cameras and no HD it would be fine in a bookmakers but for home broadcast is not up to standard and would be surprised if Sky were willing to take Speedway on the same basis unless a guarantee on quality was given. I am fully expecting and heard rumbles that BT will be interested in British speedway especially if subscriber numbers are not good at year end they need regular summer sport to avoid summer churn which happens when football and Rugby union season finish
  16. I understand that Roynon had already got a team place confirmed before Allen got injured and his new team were just awaiting new team to be approved by bspa
  17. Interesting as well that the FIM suggested hotels in Cardiff are also showing as full for 30/31st May 2014
  18. The reports I have been hearing this evening seem to indicate the shale is stored in Wales all year but the bad cold and wet winter has knackered it making it like quick sand and sloppy. Hopefully they can sort it out overnight and get a track relaid in time as seems many reports that they are having to start again with track
  19. Does anybody know what Jari Makinens average would be now ? Would he fit in at Leicester if they keep Roynon and Karlsson .
  20. Thanks Mr Rising Yes it does sound like Telegenic and it will be fine with them guys, Seems strange to have to buy a ticket this year as doubt my Sky sports pass will work this year. I think I will just go to ticket office on the day and get a couple of seats for me and wife as not bothered about location.
  21. Mr Rising as I am not involved this year as Eurosport are the host broadcaster do you know who they or Steve have gone for with regards to OB facilities I told the guys to stick with Telegenic as with Elite league and last year as they know the drill and sport. Hopefully if they have gone elsewhere everything runs smooth
  22. Greyhound P The rider you are thinking of is no longer based in Lymington and is now based in Coventry and is likely to be back in Leicester and Coventry teams in the next 14 days
  23. It will be interesting now that Bjerre has a Polish contract how committed he is to Leicester hopefully he doesn't start missing meetings or the club demand he is out there Saturdays for practice. If so it may be Roynon for Bjerre
  24. Yeah Magnus has Swedish league meeting which has to take priority I got told tonight and that has to take priority due to him being Swedish other clubs have suffered with this as well. I believe Leicester's options are a NL guest who is not already doubling up so no Lewis Kerr,Blackbird or Joe Jacobs or they submit new team with Roynon in it who I am told is prepared to do it. It's a difficult decision the club have to make as Magnus has hit some form will it last ????? On the other hand what form is Roynon going to find after another injury and missing so much of the season. Another option somebody mentioned was to keep Magnus and drop Bjerre but personally can not see that happening. Onto to match Leicester made very hard work of the win and a draw would have been a fair result for both teams Craig Cook looked very good and fast nobody could get near him and good to see a Brit doing so well. The crowd was ok considering a lot of Leicester people went to Twickenham to watch the Tigers in the Rugby
  25. Django- You are perfectly right the Berwick match due to its location was an expensive match to broadcast especially as nearly all crew based around London or South. Sam Was also not available as was on the way back from Hungary supporting US in WTC qualifier. It was also felt there was no obvious choices for Northern based guests.
