  1. I have some friends that want to go to SWC event 1 at Kings Lynn and have told that its expected to be a sell out, When they try to buy tickets online it says just get them on the day. Are they still accepting online orders or is it too late now ? They can not get there really early as got to pick one of the group up from Heathrow at 3pm so going to be in a rush to get there anyway.
  2. It is a poor show from Lasse saying that he is not able to get here for this meeting, He has himself said at 11pm last night he is driving back to Denmark a journey of around 14hours but the routing would take you in close to a number of major airports including Munich,Frankfurt,Stuttgart,Hamburg and Dusseldorf that is before you even try Italian ones like Venice,Verona,Vicenza, treviso lots of options. In fact just seen a Lufthansa flight this morning that would have had him in Birmingham at 13:30
  3. There has been so much rain in Leicester over the last 24 hours including an hour of heavy constant rain at lunch so much so the M1 was down 20 mph due to visibility. Nice Sunny afternoon then just after 5 huge rain shower for 20 mins finished it off. I went In and could see that track was a wet mess and could see the club had tried everything to run the meeting. Just typical it's been a nice evening the only bonus is hopefully means we will get to see M Bech again and Bridger hanging off the bike
  4. Just arrived in Leicester visiting the family, Very wet and rained all day so far. But has stopped now with bit of brightness just don't know what this weather is going to do now
  5. There is a couple of questions there that I shall try to answer 1) I agree the around the tracks feature was a good idea and you will likely see it again as the season moves forward. It has not been used this season due to a combination of reasons we are currently not allowed to report from matches on bet365 so that will often rule out Wolves or Belle Vue on a Mon and when there has been Wed matches same applies plus the system used does not work at Kings Lynn due no 4G Mobile signal. 2) The aerial beauty shot does not work well at all tracks and at some tracks can get a high level camera position from top of the stand. The Swindon match mentioned was due to this and also the forecast was not favourable that day. 3) The Swingy camera is called a Jimmy Jib and is quite a specialised art and is done by only a limited amount of operators who also own all their own equipment. This year there has been a struggle to get them as many of the UK based ones have been out to Brazil for football World Cup and will move onto commonwealth games soon, Also many of these persons also took their holidays before this known busy period so hopefully availability should increase soon. Also last night at Leicester one could not be used due not enough clearance from fence to track, Also it was known that Leicester city council H&S officers were going to be visiting and as usual were being very over cautious in fact one very funny thing mentioned was the camera operators on the scaffold towers they felt should have safety helmets on. Do they not realise theses guys can be 100-200ft up in a 4ft wide gantry in a football stadium with maybe 10,000 people below them ? They are just being picking as its Speedway. I understand the promotion had to give detailed plans to the counci beforehand about the broadcast I don't recall this happening when we do OBs at Leicester city or Tigers grounds
  6. This is only a guess but could the supposed big hitter be the shadow boxer himself Martin Smolinski ? As reports from Cardiff seem to suggest he has finally realised that he is not getting enough racing at present, Also I believe he is a Coventry asset. It seems we shall all find out in the next few days
  7. I thought it was another good Cardiff weekend with the usual excellent atmosphere in the stadium. Just a few points that I think could be improved on for next year As others have said I really did not like the fanzone in that location it was very squashed in especially the autograph signing that should have been moved to the other end to the stage, Personally I think it was better in the street. I understand that will already be changed for 2015 anyway. Although the programme content, editorial and Information was very good I thought the actual production quality of the programme was very poor on cheap paper that got ripped very easily and looked scruffy for the £10 charge I expected and have seen better from BSI on this front. Lastly as this the largest gathering of Speedway fans in the world with 1000s staying over I am very surprised that both BSI and Monster do not arrange a proper after party for fans and the many riders that go to gather, drink, party, listen to bands and DJs. I know that they do this at some of the foreign GPs and generally work very well. To me I feel that there is a big opportunity being missed here by the organisers to provide more and also to make extra money. This weekend most speedway fans seemed to be in Walkabout,Prince of Wales or the Brew house I am sure that most would be happy to pay £5-8 to go to proper Speedway party . Venue wise the ideal places would be Cardiff arms park pitch area or Sophia gardens park, If noise restrictions maybe the Motorpoint arena.
  8. Oh why do some people have to kill these threads off so soon often fun seeing every body trying to guess the dates. Oh well for th ladies maybe they will have Tom Cruise there making a special appearance and another Greg Hancock win as its such a special day for both of them. I see the hotels have already published their usual high rates for the said weekend so best to get onto the smaller properties who may not be aware of the date yet.
  9. This is purely a guess and not sure if would fit in the averages but release Nielsen and Lanham to bring in James Wright who is practicing again around the tracks and Anders Mellgren who is also fit again wanting to ride in the UK.
  10. It seems that Birminghams best hope is that Alan Phillips will reconsider Tony Mole's offer to run the club until the end of the season,However I can quite understand that Mr Phillips paid a large amount of money for the club and does not want to simply just hand it over for next to nothing. It is well known that the club have been in trouble and time was running out with debts rising and crowds not turning up. As Charles Phillips has said previously is speedway in Birmingham viable ?
  11. Although Bartosz won't be returning it seems another young Polish rider is coming in to replace Adam Skornicki, I just hope that Birmingham can see the rest of the season out and that a new Promotor can be found to run the club in the long term and secure. A question to Birmingham fans do you think the club would be better supported in the Premier league and if they could secure Saturday night racing ?
  12. Buczkowski was signed a couple of weeks ago but there was some confusion with the June averages which has meant his debut had to be delayed as cant come in as straight replacement for Paddy and has also meant making another change with Lasse being released as well. I think though Lasse himself will admit that he has struggled in elite league as his gating still needs a lot of work.
  13. Don't forget also that Kasabian are also doing a large outdoor concert in Leicester that night so again some of younger fans may be missing as well.
  14. I think the announcement may be that Simon Stead is becoming a Sheffield asset
  15. Thanks for clarifying that just shows can't trust all info you get given.
  16. The rider that I am sure SCB and TMW have both mentioned is not currently on the draft list but keeps putting his argument forward to join it to help further his career as last year was riding elite league this year he is not able to do so. Hopefully Josh Bates will work out better than Tom Perry, Josh needs to stay on the bike though and calm down a little.
  17. The info I had was that the Danish U21 team were going to be in the same semi as team GB but they are now at the other round
  18. I would not be at all surprised to see two more team changes in the Leicester top 5 to be able to get a higher average rider to replace Patrick and hopefully they have a justified replacement for Tom that will strengthen the team up. It's just a shame that they could not keep Tom and drop Max who is really struggling as its a year too early for him Unfortunatly current averages don't allow this I just hope that Toms reaction has not Burnt his bridges if this move was available later in the season.
  19. Big Al no I am nothing at all to do with the Leicester promotion but the facts are very clear for anybody that has been following Speedway for a number of years like myself. The problem with some Leicester fans is that they do not have a great knowledge of of how modern day speedway is operated now. Anyway back on topic I predict a Wolves win by 12 disappointed that I can't make it myself but will be following the scores closely from Birmingham
  20. The Leicester club have been unable to say anything about the Hougaard situation until today as up until yesterday he had a sick note but as he rode in Poland yesterday he is now officially withholding his services and will be banned for 28 days in the UK and possibly Denmark depending on DMU view on case. If Leicester had signed somebody else as cover then they would not be able to have guests. The latest I have heard was a new signing was due to join this week and was in fact bringing bikes to UK Tues but now not likely to happen. So looks like back to the rider search
  21. Hougaard is officially withholding his services as from today and will receive the usual 28 day ban but even worse news I have heard that Leicester's new redeclared team with the new rider has been turned down by the bspa due to changes in June averages. So looks like the club will continue their search for a replacement for Paddy.
  22. I know at one point it was looking like Bjerre and Doyle were missing for GP qualifier and Lambert for team GB U21 and did hear that Porsing and Lasse missing as riding for Denmark in U21 meeting. I am not sure if that is still the case
  23. Both sets of riders agreed to ride if the rain stopped and none said that they thought the track was unsafe. The surface water was brushed off and I am told Glyn and his team had more top surface to put on. That is why they gave it 30mins to see if rain stopped so visibility was the main reason for the postponement as confirmed by the ref.
  24. Maybe SCB ???? Did Artem ride in Sweden on Tuesday as well
