If the meeting goes ahead there will a live report from Nigel Pearson before the meeting then some races will be shown on time delay with depending how the match goes and scoreline will dictate how much coverage is shown. Fans need to remember that Sky sports HQ is a sport news channel that features a variety of sport and has to take regular ad breaks but will feature Speedway more this evening. The reason this is not being shown in full is simple cost it has already cost over 50k to try to broadcast this meeting, so can just about justify another £2500 for live inserts but not another 20k for full broadcast. By the looks of the weather it may be a very good decision. Lets just hope that forecast improves and can get Coventry on Friday

I would be surprised if KK can be convinced to commit to a full season in the UK next year another outside bet maybe Lindgren.
-
I have a feeling the current GP rider that he is going to talk to may be Kenneth Bjerre as they could probably arrange some fixtures around GPs for Doyle if they had cover with Bjerre and Cook.

Kye1- I agree the council have given the track a lot of previous support to get it to the stage it is at the minute. However now I understand they are being rather difficult to deal with and keep trying to find things wrong all the time. Yes I think we all agree the land around it needs to landscaped properly and is unfortunate that the previous outside projects didn't happen. The counci officers are currently just trying to keep themselves busy often on overtime on Sat nights worried for their jobs in the next round of local goverment cutbacks. Some of the plain stupid things they have said like making everybody wear safety glasses to avoid flying shale, suddenly deciding after 3yrs that the PA speakers were too high, monitoring crowd noise levels then telling club had to put wooden backs on stand crowd noise no where near the football or rugby levels yet nothing is said.Claiming the clubs fans create rubbish around the area what about all the gypsy rubbish that seems to around whenever i visit.I understand there is lots more

Like most clubs if somebody approached the Promotor and says can I buy the club for X amount then most would sell it, that is all that has been said if anybody has the money and wants to take over Leicester Speedway then Mr Hemsley will listen. I don't think he particularly wants to get out but was a little bemused by it all towards end of season, mainly caused by other promotors attitudes,an over zealous council who are very difficult to work with along with injuries to a number of he team. But on the plus he has said they have had a good year financially and with crowd numbers. Now where did I put that spare million pounds that I won on the lottery

Lucifer Sam- Yes the final was scheduled in for next Wed but if the Poole vs Kings Lynn meeting is done as well it's another 22k to add to the bill which could again fall victim to the weather so best just to do a mini broadcast which should cost only around £1000-1500 depending whether we show in full or just clips on Sky sports HQ. We have been lucky today with an before broadcast call off have managed to reduce some crewing costs and uplink costs. Would many fans watch the meeting if available via Sky sports website with no commentary, interviews or replays ? If next week does not happen I can see the final being one off meeting at neutral track maybe KL or Leicester a week on Sat

It will be just a one maybe two camera production just like Bet365 featured races will be shown on Sky sports HQ/News I am looking into the possibility of seeing if it can be shown online in full just awaiting confirmation from web guys. This meeting has already cost over 46k to do just can't commit any more to it with no guarantee it will go ahead. It's such a shame I suspect Poole may gain next week with no live tv coverage though. We now have two slots to fill next week along with some ad revenue loss as well as no live sport on them slots. Not 100% sure yet but am hearing reports that Coventry may have 2nd leg now though

Scb Statement Regarding Coventry And Cradley
flagrag replied to Agrotron's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Oh dear I hope that they did not do a collection at Monmore to pay the fines as this is against SCB regulations no collections allowed or for clubs to pay them. -
I too have a feeling that Sheffield will be in the elite league in 2015 with Steady and bates at reserve. I hear as well that the lighting is being upgraded at Owlerton in the winter to make it better for Live TV have a look next Tuesday at the Greyjounds and you will see what I mean

Leicester 2014 . Elite

As far as I can make out Leicester can sack Mads and remove him from their 1-7 but may not be able to have a facility so be forced to use a NL rider wouldn't be surprised if they did this. By removing Mads also means he is unable to guest in play offs, personally think its all a bit stupid yes his form recently has been poor and should have rode at Belle Vue but all too late now with nothing to gain other than damaging the club reputation with fans and other riders. -
A quick one lap victory parade on bikes would have taken all of 3 mins to do. To be fair to Rosco although he did not do an interview I hear he did come down to the bar and enjoyed a drink and banter with Leicester fans

Workington V Glasgow 06/09/14 18:30 Hrs (pl)

Firstly I hope Chris Mills is not too badly injured as sounds like a horrible crash and he is a nice guy. Was the air ambulance called due to the nature of the injury or to speed up the meeting ? as if the track Dr would have gone by land ambulance with him there would have been no chance of 2nd meeting anyway. -
I hear Jason Doyle has crashed in Denmark tonight and injured his shoulder hopefully nothing is broken or dislocated and will be fit for Sunday.

Really not sure if Leicester would get any EL guests just going to be a case of wait and see if these reports/rumours are true. I do know that often clubs in smaller European speedway countries that clubs often bring in big star riders for the final couple of meetings to win the league and hence pay big money. I remember a few years ago when I was in Italy on holiday in Sept went to Lonigo to have a look and they had brought in Jason crump,Ryan Sullivan and Steve Johnstone to bolster the team.
-
Not sure maybe Germany,Russia or somewhere else ? Will have to see if these reports are true or not. I expect the Mildenhall vs Leicester NL cup match will be cancelled as if not that also takes Bates,Clegg and Sargeant out of at least the afternoon meeting
-
Although not confirmed yet have heard reports from a few sources that Leicester may be missing Doyle,Mads and Klindt as due to previously booked continental meetings. Also have Krystof out injured so could be another select team. Will be interesting to see if they ride for Leicester or not

Poole Vs Leicester 20/08/2014
flagrag replied to Tom Turner's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's on Leicester website that Ward is riding but no Stead as sore throat and Klindt and Mads in Denmark in comes Lewis Bridger,Gino Manzares and Mark Lemon. -
Screm- Darcy has a very nice and attractive woman in his life and from what I have heard has calmed him down a lot. But will be interesting to find out if he was massively over the limit from a night of partying or just slightly over, it has to remembered as well that the limit is lower than for driving a car and could be caused by just two large beers

flagrag replied to James 12345's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Oh dear that's not good for Darcy as may well cost him a place on the podium for the series. I am very surprised that he went out drinking the night before a GP as knew he could get tested. I wonder if it was a case of being caught out having a local beer stronger than he thought or whether he was well over the limit after a big night out partying ? Will there be any further punishment for this or just to miss the meeting I wonder -
Swc Event 1 King's Lynn 26/07/14
flagrag replied to Bagpuss's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I thought it was a good meeting with a nice result in team GB winning on the night. Although I have a lot better racing at Kings Lynn before I think the track staff did well with the warm and humid conditions not much dust was created and a constant amount of grip. Just a couple of improvements that I think could have been made by BSI for the future, A number of members on here and around the tracks go on about pre meeting entertainment at Cardiff but it is at the World Cup where the event entertainment is needed like the stunt bike guy or a covers band like the Magoos. As we all know majority of fans only get into the stadium just before parade as all the pubs and attractions of Cardiff, where as at Kings Lynn most fans arrive early to get best spots and because of travelling to event. Last night there was nothing and felt very flat to start with. Also last night after the rare GB win why was there no presentation on the centre for the winners and national anthem as in previous years also meant no photos, this was especially strange as Eurosport remained on air well after GB did quick lap on the Monster truck so the satellite feed and broadcast was still open.
